The D-Note has closed their doors. Thanks for supporting live music in Arvada.

I used to go to d note on Sunday night for their salsa. They used to have a live band and was a great place to go for all ages. I was totally bummed out when they had to close down their business. This place had a really large wooden dance floor and lots of great salsa dancers. Hopefully they can bring their business back and have the salsa night in the future.

This restaurant and bar is closed as of February 2014. They have moved out completely and shut down.

I went once a long time ago to D Note for a trivia night. It was a packed house and the place seemed pretty nice. Then I moved to Arvada and began to notice how empty it always was. Recently I went back for a show and the place only had a couple of tables filled yet no wait staff ever came up to me and asked me if I needed help. I had to go up to the bar to order my drink and tack back to the table. My friends ordered some appetizers and they were decent but I’m not even sure how or when they ordered it. The show ended at 6pm and the staff immediately started closing down. The group of us all would have liked to stay(their hours are for Sunday are supposedly 11:00 am — 2:00 am) but felt like we were being kicked out.

If you are going there for food save your money you can eat microwave pizza at home that is better than this. The Caesar salad is lettuce on a plastic plate. Thank goodness they know how to toast garlic bread. If you are going for live music they have room to dance and have a wide variety of bands and solo 1 man band type shows that are worth checking out. Eat before you arrive :)

My girlfriend and I went there last night for dinner, around 7 pm, there was no waiting . Shortly after we sat down waitress came over with menus. We ordered a pizza and some marqerittas. Every thing was very good. They have a full bar, also a stage in front for different venues. This a nice family restaurant, has old hardwood floor with large open area around stage for dancing. Last night there were a couple large family groups enjoying the food and drinks, while there little kid could dance and play near their table and the stage. There was a solo artist performing on stage with guitar, he sang a variety of music& was very good. At about 9 pm the main feature band took over. They call themselves the«vinyl under ground«they played nice classic rock and roll, songs from the cars, dire staiits„ Santana. Left around 11. Restaurant was about half. full .the crowd was average age group over 30. All in all a nice evening and will be going back!

We have had our son’s 1 year and 2 year birthday party here on Sunday during baby boogie and we have had a great time both times. They are able to be creative with the menu. I called this year and spoke with Lewis, who is the kitchen Manager and he was really helpful in creating a custom menu. We had the big tv’s to watch the Bronco game while the kids jumped around on the stage dancing and having a great time. Greg was awesome getting things organized and put together. Also, we get so much positive feedback about our son’s parties that we’ll continue to have them here until he’s ready to tell us what he wants to do! The other thing I LOVE about this place is that it’s a place I can go to with my husband and friends and listen to music and have some drinks, but it has family friendly aspects too… like baby boogie on Sunday’s.

Not so good. Lots of guys there want to get bottomed out. I didn’t care for it. Food tastes like D’s. I didn’t care for that at all.

I had to make a stop in since I moved out of state earlier in the year to enjoy the local hangout! Service was acceptable; but music and dancing always a blast! Glad to have brought a friend to enjoy with me.

The D Note is all too often a little off pitch and flat. The servers are just ok, when it gets a little crowded, they go into hiding. Add to their problems, poor air conditioning circulation and dripping(well actually gushing, more than a twelve-year old over Justin Bieber gushing) from above. The place gets sweltering hot. But, if you like attitude, a big dance floor(careful, a column right in the middle), and just ok bands… this will be your honey hole. Hope you’re not too terribly hungry.

Was really hoping to like this place but the service was horrible. Wine was spilled on my buddy and the waitress blamed him. He was sitting at a table so not sure how that can be his fault. When he asked for a towel she told him to quit crying about it. When our waiter came back, we told him about it and he said it’s the owners daughter so what can I do? Will never return here and will tell everyone to stay away. They obviously could care less about their customers.

Use to love this place. They had fun salsa nights, good food, decently priced drinks, good service, and the open mic’s were a blast to go to… then the new ownership set in. I went back for the first time in almost a year, and everything changed. The service was flat out bad(25 min for a check, and had to go buy my own drinks at the bar twice), Bartender was a really cool guy, but the food was mediocre at best, and the place just seemed flat out run down. I was there for one of their open mic nights, and the sound system, or maybe it was the sound guys, was AWFUL! Very, VERY poorly ran. Highly disappointed to see what was one of my favorite spots in the metro area sink to a place I would avoid unless absolutely necessary.

D Note is just plain cool. Depending on the day of the week, you may hit a yoga class, salsa dancing lessons, a Dead cover band, bluegrass or blues(and those are just some of the things I’ve seen there in the last couple of years). Pizza is varied and very good. The menu overall isn’t overly ambitious, but it doesn’t need to be in a venue like this.

Never again, this was the worst experience! The service was SLOW, and the food was terrible. They were out of many items on the menu, we did not get what we ordered and the staff failed to correct our orders. The food we did get was cold and greasy. Many other great places in the area, don’t waste your time or money on this place.

Well, where do I start… Went in for a friends birthday last night. Small get together of about 7 people. Pros — GREAT live music. Regge band was awesome. Food was delicious. Cons — service took FOR-EV-ER. From when we first walked in we all asked each other ‘Do we go to the bar, or wait for a server???’ Between having to shove my glass in a servers face because he forgot my water about a hundred times and my hubby wanting to tab out we literally had to throw ourselves in front of the kid to get his attention. And then trying to tab out a table of seven people who really wanted a check split vs all on one check was a nightmare. Suggestions — get better trained staff and more of them. Also, update the menu so the servers don’t have to say, ‘we aren’t serving pasta or soup anymore’ it looks tacky. The band and the delicious pizza saved you last night.

You’ve burned me for the last time, D Note… After 4 years of going to the D Note every Thursday, I think we’ve finally had enough. The service is(mostly) terrible, and we stopped ordering food about three years ago because the pizzas just aren’t very good and it can sometimes take over an hour to get your food. I’d estimate that every third time we go in, we sit without drinks or any attention from a server for unacceptable stretches of time. My friends have resorted to ordering their drinks at the bar instead of waiting(and hoping) that a server will come to our table. I realize that the restaurant has new owners, and I’m sure it takes time to learn the ropes, but we just can’t stick this out any longer. I am so sick of walking away pissed off every Thursday night. Why should I continue to spend my money at a place that gives me nothing but a bad taste in my mouth? In response to Michael R. — my suggestions to the new owners would be to hire more waiters, and TRAIN the waiters, PLEASE. Think about the things that you hate about eating out, and realize that you’re guilty of committing almost every cardinal sin of food service. Update the menu. Sweep and mop the floor(yes, we notice the giant disgusting dust bunnies lurking under the tables). Keep up on maintenance. I am really sad that it has come to this. We met our best friends at the D Note, and have many other friends we enjoy seeing every Thursday night. I am really going to miss my friends and Geeks Who Drink.

Great atmophere and vibe. This place is huge. Went for trivia with a couple of friends on a Tuesday night and there were 18 different teams in competition! Lost a star due to the lack of wait staff(we ordered a thick crust pizza with sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms) and received thin crust with green chilis instead of green peppers. Also, the waiter was running ragged and refilled our drinks maybe once in the four hours we were there. That said, however, I’d go back in a heart beat. It was super fun!

This place used to be awesome, great pizza, pasta, and the rest of the menu. Since the change of ownership, the food has taken a nose dive, the service is weird and generally not good(high school age wait staff), and the vibe of the place is strange at best.(Beer pong? YGTBFSM) The ONLY reason for two stars is the Ninja(Adam) still works behind the bar with only about two other original employees. It’s a sad time in old town history

Update. While the space is cool and eclectic, and often hosts some good acts I’d be willing to drive a fair distance to see, the food here is just too bland and too lame to warrant an even average rating. I went back recently and once again had the hummus appetizer. It’s big, yes, but the hummus is literally and thoroughly tasteless. It was like chunky paste. Would a little salt hurt? And could you Vitamix it a little to get the chunks out? How totally disappointing. We got pizza for an entrée and it was straight up awful. We got the«Back in Black» pie which had olives, Roma tomatoes, blackened chicken, jalapenos, red onions, pesto and cheddar. It sounded like a train wreck when my husband ordered it and that’s exactly what it turned out to be. There were a bazillion black olives per square inch and way too many jalapenos to be palatable. The cheddar cheese was a bastardization. I hated it. My husband will eat anything and ate his fair share, but that doesn’t mean it was tasty. In fact he said it was the opposite of tasty, and that’s a fact. Service was good and my lemon drop martini was delicious. Two stars for that, plus the cool space. But ONLY two stars, and that might be being generous. D Note, PLEASE offer a saner menu to include good burgers and say, fries. You don’t have to throw a ton of strange items into the mix to produce decent and even delicious food. You just have to know how to cook it.

I wish I’d started my Torchwood/Doctor Who marathon two months sooner. It would have helped. Well, it would have helped with just the one question, but still, knowing now what I should have known then burns just a little. Oh well, now I know. It’s called the TARDIS. Gretchen of today is embarrassed for past Gretchen. Oh right, WHY would I need to know that tiny bit of information at the D Note? For trivia night. Such a nice, smallish mix of people congregating, answering random, out of left field questions. Small microcosms of friends, making up a random hodgepodge group. I was used to my bar in Houston’s very crowded version of Thursday night Geeks Who Drink trivia, so I was pleasantly surprised. We got the TARDIS question wrong, as well as one about Lion King and animals from Madagascar. Hold on, it was my team’s answer writer who got the Madagascar question wrong. Didn’t believe me. There were quite a few more questions that we got wrong, but let’s not go there. It would be dull for you and horrid for me. I buried my woes in a quesadilla. The only good thing about it was it’s name: David Lee Roth. The vegetables were bland, the cheese was bland. For a quesadilla, there was no zip. It was not Just like Paradise. In turn, I buried my food woes in wine and more trivia. Not terribly shabby in the end, we came in third place(out of eight… and two teams left early). As we packed up to head to the next bar, a band was setting up onstage. Nice to see that Arvada’s getting a bit more of a nightlife that it had a few years back.
