Great little shop for old games. I recently was gifted a Retron 3 and was on the hunt for some old games. I was looking for a Sonic game for Sega and the guy wasn’t 100% sure it would work on the Retron so he let me take it home on the honor system to try it out and just swing back by with the cash or game depending on the outcome. Super cool considering it was my first time in the shop and had never meet him before. I don’t have any of the newer game systems so I can’t comment on those but he had a nice selection of the older stuff for very fair prices. I will be taking my business here from now on.

I was a loyal customer at this store for over 6 months, when I tried to return an item for credit less than 1 day after purchase the owner told me that he couldn’t do that as it was«unfair to him». I told him that he lost a customer and went out to my car to leave. As I’m getting ready to leave he comes out and tells me to roll down my window. Then he greeted his long term loyal customer in these exact words«if you write a negative Unilocal review because of this, I will ruin you.» I had no intention of leaving a review until he decided to threaten me. Avoid this store at all costs the prices are 20−30% higher than ebay and even worse the owner has no clue about any of the stuff he is selling. Hes not a gamer, hes not a collector hes a guy with a storefront that decided to jump into the retro gaming boom to try and make a buck.

Not impressed. Poor customer service. Employee not knowledgeable. Not a real gamer. Overpriced.

There’s an impressive display of vintage game consoles on display here from the 70’s faux wooden finish Atari VCS(2600), Atari 5200 and 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, Intellivision II, Odyssey II, Vectrex, Tandy TRS-80, Sega Genesis, NES, etc… problem is, almost all of it is not for sale, just for show. I’m a retro gamer who grew up in the 70’s and 80’s so this is exactly the kind of retro vintage stuff I came in here looking to buy but was disappointed that I couldn’t purchase anything. I get having a display to show off in your store, and it is very neat, but is this a used game store or a vintage game museum? At least there’s no admission fee to browse. I guess I’ll just have to stay home and eBay it. Sure, there’s lots of old used dusty game carts you can get for dirt cheap from old Atari 2600 and Intellivision carts to NES, Super NES, Xbox, and PS One and 2 games. The latter half of the store is for DVD and game rentals so if you just want to take a game for a test drive it’s probably a good place for that. The Game Fortress seems more like a grimy Game Dungeon, as in, it looks just like someone’s basement filled with a treasure trove of vintage games they have collected over the span of 40 years. I’m not sure whether or not that’s really impressive, or just terrifying.

I’ve been in a few times but on, y made a purchase once. First time was to ask about any Xbox one games and gear and check the place out in general. Shop is a little crazy but I’ve been in crazier and I mean it’s set up in a weird way. Selection is good, covers the history of gaming in full from TG16, Atari, nes, snes, to new systems. The owner is knowledgeable, friendly and knows his store through and through. I mentioned I was a new resident here and that I did t know where my Nintendo DS was for a trip and he flat offered to lend me one of his for nothing right off the bat. I found mine so didn’t need to borrow but that’s customer service to a degree I havnt seen since my friend back in Missouri, who owns The Game Trader in st Charles gave me an Atari and 70 games for 25 bucks because it was my birthday, should have ran me over 75. I got a ds contra 4 and had to restrain myself from buying anything else as there is too much there I want. I use to have every major system on a switch box, and I could easily and cheaply do it again here. Highly like this place.

I have been to this place many times. He has some of the best prices for old consoles and games. $ 1 for Sega genesis games and $ 8 for a perfect copy of Goldeneye is fantastic. The owner is super cool and willing to change his price on stuff if you make him a fair deal. I have purchased ALL of my old school equipment and games there. He even gave me an adapter cord for my Dreamcast just for having my friends visit his place and buy stuff. This is one of the best places EVER to purchase out of date games. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

If I was a hardcore gamer, I’d probably give this place a lower rating. I’m a little overwhelmed by all of the gaming options available today, but I walked in on a weekday afternoon and the clerk was extremely helpful. He was polite and answered all of my questions; with neither of us becoming too nerdy. A welcome change for me, since the only used game joints I’ve visited over the years havewe been Buy Back Games and GameStop… and I’ve left there feeling like I needed a shower or a therapist. I had a completely opposite experience at Game Fortress. They have everything from old Atari games to modern PS3 stuff. I was able to unload a bundle of Sega CD games… as I’ve sadly realized that my old copies of «Cliffhanger» and«NHL ’94» will never have anyone beating down my door. So Game Fortress did me a favor. I hope they can sell my old games and make a few bucks. They also sell used DVD’s, in the neighborhood of five bucks a pop. They don’t sell hardware(consoles or controllers), but next time I’m looking for a new game, I’ll swing by Game Fortress. Bonus: there’s an Italian restaurant and an Arby’s nearby!
