This place is Horrible! I go here now and then because it’s close to my house. I went this last Sunday, it was not very busy so I thought great I might get outta here within in a few minutes(usually I have to wait for quite a while) I ordered onion rings and they were out and a cheese burger, they were out of cheese. I paid so I didn’t leave. By the time I left I had been waiting for a full 20 minutes.

Sonic in general doesn’t really have good food aside from the tater tots and hot dogs. The reason we generally go there is for the generous selection of drinks and ice cream. However, this particular location is by far the worst one I have ever been to. The worst part about that is it is located just across the street from our house and there isn’t another one within a reasonable distance. Every time we go through the drive thru here, we have to plan on a minimum of a 20 minute wait. One time I pulled up to the microphone to order and was the only car there and the first words from the speaker were, «it is a minimum of a 25 minute wait on all orders tonight.» I hadn’t even ordered anything yet, so I just drove away. I actually sat at the pickup window once for 40 minutes waiting for my order. I don’t know why I stayed. When you look through the window, none of the employees appear to have a sense of urgency. They’re often standing around talking or playing with straws and trying to put them together, end to end. This sonic could easily recover with either new management or proper training and expectations for the employees.

As Sonic’s go, this one is incredibly slow. Even when I am the only car in the drive-thru, and I ordered hardly anything, it still takes them a very long time to fulfill the order. I had the pleasure to watch one of their employees construct some kind of time-wasting straw thing while I waited… and waited. He’d tear open a straw wrapper, insert one end into the end of another and continue. After several minutes, he gave up and threw the whole thing away, wasting time and straws. Then he came over and took my payment. I was so glad I did not interrupt his construction time by paying for my meal. If you’re in a hurry, this Sonic will only slow you down. Keep driving.

Only two stars for the Sunday morning crew at the 6373 Sheridan Drive-thru. Why can’t you train the rookies before letting them interact with real customers! I requested two Junior Double Cheeseburgers, and was then asked, «Do you want Mayo, Mustard, Ketchup and Pickles?» I corrected him by saying, «The Junior comes with ONLY ketchup, mustard and pickles, not Mayo, so No.» He replied, «Oh! A Junior burger! I’m sorry, so then do you want onions, tomato and lettuce?» I thought, «OMG, folks, here we have a winner! Keep ordering to see what you may have won!» I’m allegic to the egg whites in Mayo. Onions burn my eyes, and the smell makes me nauseous. When I got to the window, I thought the total was a couple dollars less than usual, and then when she read my order back, they had only made it two Junior Burgers, instead of two Junior DOUBLE Cheeseburgers. She yelled to the crew in the back to make them doubles and did not let me pay more for the difference. I usually sniff the bag before pulling away, to make sure there are no onions because this has happened more than once before, but the woman at the window was the same as yesterday and sometimes works during the week, so I was confident, and left without checking. When I got home, both burgers had mustard, ketchup and pickles, as they should, but they also had lettuce, tomato, MAYO and ONIONS! No cheese. Getting my order right should not be this hard, especially because I’ve been coming to this same Sonic Drive-thru every morning and usually order one or two of the same Junior Double Cheeseburgers. On second thought, I’ve reduced this rating to only one star. Too bad, because they are usually excellent on weekday mornings.

I would like to start by saying that this was my first time at a sonic. I squealed like a little girl at the ordering process and the idea of how it gets delivered to your car. Totally worth going to one just for the experience. The negatives: The food was pretty gross. They actually had a lot of vegetarian sides, and if I remember correctly they had a grilled cheese, but all in all it was gross. My milkshake tasted funny, like it was all chemicals. I asked the girl if there were condiments in the bag, she said yes, and there were not. I pressed the button to inform them, and no one responded. I pressed it again, and nothing happened. I decided to eat my tater tots with cheese with no ketchup, and fifteen minutes later they come through on the loudspeaker asking what I wanted. Well, I wanted ketchup, but it’s too late for that! I will totally go back, because I loved the experience of it all so much that it doesn’t matter the food was bad and the service was slow. I know. I’m sad.

I posted a review for«Sonic» on Sheridan — it’s the same as this one. Guys — customer service has gone way downhill. Waiting in the drive thru for over 20 mins is not acceptable at 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Done.

I just got back from visiting sonic. It is located 5 minutes from my house, so its convenient, HOWEVER, my experience today has officially been my last. I ordered, a junior deluxe cheeseburger, medium mozzarella sticks, a route 44 ocean water and a large chocolate malt(13 $). My order came out almost immediately. They forgot my malt, so they had someone bring it out after I inquired about it. Then, I noticed my cheeseburger had no cheese on it. They «re made» my burger and brought it out to me. The cheese wasn’t melted, it was a cold square slapped on there lol(I laughed out loud when I saw it) and the entire burger was cold. So I figured, OK the mozzarella sticks are going to be the way to go here… NOPE, the inside was hard and cold, I was kind of disgusted at this point. The malt and the ocean water were very good!!! I threw everything else away, and was bummed I lost 13 $. They did give me a token for a free cherry limeade, but I Dont think I’ll ever be back.

I went to this sonic about 30 minutes ago. I waited for about 25 minutes for my food, then got home and realized that something disgusting is on my chili cheese coney. It’s small little black dots. I was so disgusted that I wouldn’t eat anything from the entire order because of it. I posted a picture

I drank an entire Route 44 Ocean Water in the midst of one of the worst hangovers I have ever had in my life about 48 hours ago and my stool is still blue/green. Two thumbs up on the amount of dye they put into that drink.

So I have been coming to this sonic sense I was a kid mostly for the car shows on Friday nights but the occasional bight to eat as well, well summer is back in and they are advertising there shakes like crazy right? so 4 different times we have tried to go and get one and the only success story was a we nay have won this fight but sonic still won the battle kind of thing. Waited for 53 mins to get our melted shakes. SO I decided to make the drive to the one on 64th and Sheridan same song and dance there. So I called ask how long the wait was to hear«about 40 mins» wtf at a drive through? so I said why so long to get a snarled reply that was different explanation of excuses the other sonic gave me each time(was a different excuse each visit) the one on 64th said«well we have 16 shake orders and one shake machine» oh my bad I’m even less understanding of whats going on because not only is it a local thing its a corporate issue that they cant better prepare there individual locations for something they are clearly marketing towards. I don’t even have a shake machine and I think I could make 15 different shakes in under 20 mins with driving to the store. I’ve also decided to copy and paste this review to the other sonic as it is really about both them and I would want to be fair!

I am addicted to the Sonic ICE. $ 2.04 per bag. 5 Star Ice. My only complaint is that the«ice machine is broken» on the hottest Summer days. How can they do that to me when I NEED it the most??? This ice is like crack.

This sonic is sooo slow! I have gone here a couple times and refuse to go back. I always seem to wait what seems like forever to get my food, and there is two or three employees sitting on the bench smoking every time I go there. I love sonic, but I won’t be going back to this location.

I have to agree. This place is terrible. I went here once for a quick bite on the way home. I pulled up to the drive-in spot and the screen said something about some kind of error. I pushed the button for an attendant, but nothing happened. So, I pulled through the drive thru and told them about it. I got the«oh, really» kind of response, then they went to make my food. A minute later, the server came back and said there was something wrong with the system. Um, no shit sherlock! He had to actually write my order down. Then, when I handed him my card, he tried to run it three times before realizing that the system being down meant the card machine was down also. Not once did he ask for a manager to help him out, he just stood there looking dumb. Geeze, I understand that these things happen, but don’t waste my time! If your shit doesn’t work, why are you open? I drove home with an empty tummy, 20min later.

This Sonic is right near my house, and has quite possibly the worst service ever! I refuse to even consider going here because, like K.S. said, it always takes forever to get your order, even if you just order a soda and you are the only person in line. OK, I’m exaggerating, but not by much. It’s a shame, too, because I had never even had Sonic when I first bought the house, and now I’m scared to go to ANY Sonic! I went there a few times because it was convenient and(supposedly) quick(we were painting and needed quick sustenance), but it always ended up taking forever to get the food, and then there was inevitably always something wrong with the order. Wanted Mustard, got mayo. Asked for Tots, got fries. Yeah…No.

Ok, I love Sonic and it has been a staple craving during my pregnancy. I am all over the metro for my job, so I have been to a good handful of them. But this one takes the cake for horrible service. The first time I went was in January ’08. I stopped with 2 friends after a movie at the Elvis Cinemas that got out about 10pm. We were the only car at the drive in and waited half an hour for our order to be ready. I can understand if you’re busy and short staffed, but we were the ONLY customers at the drive in at that time. I decided to give them a second chance. I needed a quick lunch before hitting a patient’s house which was just around the corner. I was the second car in the drive thru line and waited 20 minutes for my order. Again, I get that it was lunch time and I was not the only customer this time, but for a drive thru that seems excessively slow to me. So, I guess what it comes down to is that I still love Sonic, but will avoid this particular one at all costs.
