I love breakfasts and I love going to different breakfast places. The Egg and I is not anything special, just a chain breakfast place similar to Dennie’s and Village Inn. However, I still enjoy going since I like breakfast so much. This location however might not be the best, but it definitely has character. The servers are friendly but spicy. The older woman that is the hostess is super spicy and doesn’t care, which makes it fun. On this part of town it really is the only breakfast place so it’s busy especially on the weekends.

If you want omelets drenched in oil, undercooked bacon, and soggy eggs, this is the place for you. Our entire group was extremely disappointed in our breakfasts!

My wife and I go out for breakfast every Saturday morning and we probably eat here 3 times a month. Probably the friendliest, most efficient waitstaff you will ever find. And by friendly I don’t mean they tell you their name and ask you your name and what your plans are for the day. They’re just friendly and your plans are breakfast. It has regular breakfast food, but it looks healthier than normal which is why we have to eat somewhere else once a month. They only have whole wheat pancakes and their corned beef hash doesn’t have any grease in it so I have to go elsewhere.(I’ll admit, I’ve never tried their whole wheat pancakes, I’m just against the concept). Another plus is you get your own coffee pot and it is very good. Irregardless of healthiness, great food, great breakfast atmosphere.

The food here was amazing! But it took almost 30min after being seated for someone to come over and greet us and ask us for our drinks. But once the ball started rolling the service was really fast and again the food was amazing!

I can honestly say that this specific location is one of my favorite! Staff is amazing, courteous and polite. I had an to go order, and while waiting I was offered and free coffee, nothing is ever free anymore. but to them making the customer happy is a obvious priority! The food is always excellent and at the right temperature! My kids always ask me to go there on weekends, they love the coloring book and all the signs on the walls and decos. And of course, the candy on our way out ;) Finally, the price are also a plus, for the quality it is an amazing price-deal. So if you want fast, courteous, taste-atic food, head on to the egg and I! I know I will ;)

This such a neat place. There food is always so delicious the atmosphere is comforting and the device is outstanding. Today I ordered the three cheese veggie on flatbread. It was nothing like I expected but it was far more I loved it. It was so good. I usually order from the smart choice menu. They have low calorie offerings. I had most of them and they are so good. The service is outstanding and friendly. One time I was looking for a no sugar jelly and the waitress saw me going through the jellies and she brought me a handful

Great location, Great food, great service and great prices. We went for brunch on Black Friday and the food was wonderful AND it came out quickly. I’m pretty particular about my food and mine was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend the eggs Benedict on the croissant!

This was the first restaurant that I visited after landing in Denver from vacation and flying in very early. We we’re seated promptly(four of us and a toddler) and our drinks came out snappy. They even asked my sisters toddler if she would like some toys to play with which she loved. When the food came out I literally ate every bite of my French toast, eggs, bacon and it was so good, had to snag some of my moms potatoes. I’ll be coming back.

Breakfast menu is complete and everything is well cooked. My favorite is Santa Fe Huevos, but have enjoyed everything ordered. Coffee is particularly good and service is above average.

We come here regularly for breakfast. The food is good and the service has always been pretty good, but they are a very busy restaurant. If you come any later than 9:30, especially on a Sunday you will face a wait.

We went in on Mothers Day morning, which we knew would be busy. But after walking in, it really wasn’t any busier than a normal weekend breakfast rush. We were seated in about 10 minutes which was great– but then waited another 10 for our waitress to appear and 10 for our drinks(hazelnut coffee, 2 kids drinks, 1 water). The kids drinks came without lids, so we waited another 10 minutes for lids. Total sit down to drink time for the whole table– 30 minutes. She took our order & then went and got the drink order of the people who had just sat down behind us. It took about 15 minutes for their food to arrive(and it arrived before ours) and ours took 35(2 adult meals and 1 kids meal). When we started to eat, my husband complained to me about 3 bites Into his waffle that it was too rubbery to eat. My husband asked for a water refill twice and never received it. He had NO water for his meal. We never saw her again to even ask about the waffle. Our kids were pretty restless, since our waitress never came back with the bill or the water, so I decided to take them outside while my husband waited for the bill. While walking to the car, I see why our waitress hadn’t brought the water or been back with the tip, she was outside smoking. I understand it’s busy and waitresses need breaks, but please at least bring a water for him to drink while waiting! The kicker is that a few hours later my husband came down with food poisoning. Ruining the rest of Mothers Day. This wasn’t our first time here and we knew the service was crummy from a previous visit about a year ago, so we’re hoping for a different experience, yet it was a worse one. Save yourself time, money and tummy troubles and find somewhere else to go! We won’t be back!

Overall good food and good service. The menu featured plenty of different types of food to eat and all seem very fresh and professionally made. Would recommend anyone to go there for a nice is feeling breakfast.

I really enjoy coming here on the weekends, mainly because it’s right across the street from my home. The price you pay here will be about $ 2-$ 3 higher than a Denny’s or Village Inn but it’s well worth it. I see no reason to go with less than 5 stars here as the review is consistent with each dining experience I have had here. The Ambiance– It’s kind of like eating at my living room dining table. The place has very homey feel about it with a tad of Victorian flare. The wait staff here is exceptional and trusts me when I say you will be well taken care of. They usually have a newspaper handy for a bit of reading material. I will usually dine alone but sometimes bring the family. I have met the owner(It’s a Franchise) and he takes a lot of pride in his establishment. The Food– I am a creature of habit and usually order the Cambridge Skillet. It’s a manly meaty skillet with a combination of bacon, ham, cheese on a bed of potatoes. They also put 2 eggs and top with hollandaise sauce so it’s sort of like an Eggs Benedict skillet(I order poached). They do have traditional Eggs Benedict, but I prefer it this way as you get way more bang for the buck as they do not skimp on the ingredients. My daughter has ordered the Blueberry Pancake and the thing is HUGE and covers the entire plate. A large, whole wheat, thick bit of pure deliciousness. When I do bring the family they enjoy just taking their time, sipping the various assortments of teas, talking and breakfast. They can make a breakfast last for hours! Lol. Condiments– I took a picture of the hot sauce I always purchase for when I have eggs at home. They have their own recipe and it far outweighs the traditional mainstream hot sauces that you find at most breakfast dining establishments. Needless to say we won’t be back to a Denny’s or such anytime soon(Unless on the road). I feel the setting and the atmosphere is just as important as the meal itself. I always find both and feel like I am right at home.

Don’t go here with a large group, we had even called ahead by over an hour to give them a heads up that we had a large group for breakfast. The hostess was rude and one other person was even more rude, basically saying we don’t have room for your party, we don’t take reservations. We will choose someplace else next time.

Ive always enjoyed the food when I visit The Egg & I, although the service is always slow. I expect this and schedule my visits accordingly. Yesterday my husband &5 year old son visited this location. The elderly hostess was at the front desk working at the register. My husband waited patiently by the register area, and was never greeted. He waited for a good 5 minutes until another family entered the restaurant. The hostess proceeded to look AROUND my husband & son to greet them and ask how many was in their party, as if my husband & son did not exist. This is horrible customer service. He was aware that she was probably busy and waited patiently to be greeted, although a simple«I’ll be right with you» would have made a world of difference. The staff apparently needs a little refresher on their customer service skills.

Had a group meeting of 30 in the back room. service was quick and food great. i had a wonderful rueben and my wife had a chicken apple croissant. Both yummy. Fries might be a nice addition but great anyways. Consistently good which is hard to pull off and also to handle that large a group all at the same time is a challenge but they always Pull it off. The owner/manager Mark is always accomidating. enjoy.

We live very close to the restaurant, so we are here a lot. I really enjoy the corned beef hash, and the artichoke florentine Benedict. There is a large menu, so I’m sure that there will be something there that you will like. I tend to gravitate towards the salty items for breakfast, and my partner… the sweeter items. We both have our favorite items to order, but there are always more to try. I would avoid Sunday after church lets out… be there before 10:00am, but we will continue to go every week and enjoy a great, cheap breakfast with genuinely nice servers.

My experience here today made me so, so angry. I arrived at around 10:30 am, and needed to be somewhere very close-by at 11:30 am. I walked in and had to wait about 5 minutes to even be acknowledged; the 2 hostesses constantly looked at me and constantly ignored me. Once I was seated I waited another 5 – 10 minutes to even order. By this time I no longer had 50 minutes, I had 30. My poor waitress was trying so, so hard. Most of the staff here are older ladies and they are all running around like crazy trying really hard, and I think the kitchen was the major problem, at least today. I waited 30 minutes for my food. 30 minutes for an egg white omelette. Do you know how fast an egg white cooks? It takes like 30 seconds, and the potatoes and toast are made by the expo or premade beforehand. There were tables that were seated when I arrived that didn’t have their food until I left, so they waited close to an hour for food on a Monday. Just really no excuse at this point– they weren’t even really on much of a wait. No apologies, no discounts, and absolutely no management on hand to help assuage guests. I finally got my food and my omelet was just… watery. Like, a puddle of liquid in the plate, and it didn’t taste good. Not bland, just not good. Potatoes were inconsistent– some spongy, some good, some too hard to eat. My toast was great, though, and to the kitchen’s credit my specific requests of egg whites and dry toast were all met. I scarfed down my breakfast in about 4 minutes, and my waitress very kindly offered to bring me to-go boxes or cups to make it easier, but sadly didn’t bring my cheque. When I went to pay, my breakfast of an egg white scramble with toast and potatoes and coffee was $ 15. I can get a really, really amazing dinner for $ 15/person. I can make an unspeakably good breakfast for $ 15/person. You have to be crazy to come to a chain restaurant(Albeit a local chain *With* customizable nutritional information on their website) and pay $ 15/person for very, very poor kitchen service and mediocre food. The servers tried, but the hostesses that double as cashiers were horrible and cold, and this restaurant just… doesn’t know what it’s doing.

Great service, but the food was disappointing. The potatoes were dry and the gravy for the biscuits and gravy looks and tastes like it was made by adding water to a store-bought mix. I won’t be back.

Food was good. Nothing out of this world but all in all it’s good. They have nice patio and is perfect for a weekend brunch then stroll down town for a cold frosty beer:) service can be hit and miss. Service is always great, just a little slow sometimes. I’m in the industry and understand that they get busy… With that being said, it’s one of my favorite breakfast spots

Higher end comfort food. They specialize in hearty breakfasts and huge omelets. This is a step up from the average coffee shop, so expect to pay more($ 30 for 2 people with tip). The service is friendly, if very slow. The portions are almost ridiculously big, and the food is decent, though somewhat bland. We’ve eaten here several times and can recommend the eggs Benedict(although the Bearnaise sauce is a bit heavy), the Colorado Jack Scramble or the spinach mushroom omelet.

This was a pretty good breakfast, a bit pricey but good. I had the green chili breakfast burrito which could have had a bit more flavor in the chili. My wife ate an eggs benedict with asparagus that was pretty tasty. Kiddo had a one egg breakfast. Coffee was expensive at $ 2.00+ a cup. All an all it was a good breakfast and we will come back. Just not sure if it was a good as the Village Inn over on Kippling and I-70.

Great Breakfast! Started the day out right. Husband and I both got frittatas. He ordered the Greek and it was out of this world. I got the M.B.A– also very good. Large portions– enough to split. Friendly staff. Small waiting area that gets too crowded when they are busy. Coffee could be better, but other than that, a great place to visit. For breakfast, you can’t beat it!

Mother always did say to eat a good breakfast. Well, mine never did, but I’ll take your word that yours did. But if mine did, this would definitely be the place to get it. The most important meal of the day: Can also be the best one! The egg and I delvers excellent food on every level. Taste, texture, warmness, and portion. Details count: Syrup? Three flavors. Butter? Duh. Drinks? Anything your heart desires at any time. At the egg and I, details matter. There are even mouthwash dispensers in the bathroom! The people: And that, my friend, is where that fifth star went. When I return, if the servers loosen their joints a little, pretend like they care about me as a person, not a source of money, and wear at least a fake smile, I will return that fifth star to it’s rightful place in this otherwise very fine establishment. Whats for breakfast? The egg and I!
