I so hate to lower the star rating on this place. But, things here have changed. I loved going here all the time. I used to go sit in a corner and have my waffle, bacon and French pressed coffee. Things just don’t taste the same. I think adjustments have been made. They used to have really good quality bacon. It was thick and hearty. Not the bacon is thin. The coffee doesn’t taste the same either. You can just tell that changes have been made and I don’t like it. The owner and the staff are really nice which is why I’d hate to lower the stars. The food is still alright, but I haven’t gone there in a long time and that says a lot. I hope they bring the good bacon back. Maybe it was just temporary. A little pricey too. But it was ok at first when the food was delicious. Now it’s pricey and things have changed. I’m thinking 3.5 stars but I couldn’t give that. I went up the star versus down because like I said… Good staff and owner.

I wish the overall experience was a bit more customer friendly. I like a place that welcomes you warmly when you place your order. The food is good and I like the concept of the place so I will return, but not frequently. Also, I was surprised there was no herbal tea, only varieties of green tea.

It was okay… Very pricey with decent food. I ordered the Cowboy eggs, the toast wasn’t toast, it was bread. The omelet that was ordered was over cooked. The juice from the juice bar good.

What a gem of a breakfast/brunch café/coffee shop. I went to my trusty Unilocal App to find somewhere close to my hotel for a healthy yet satisfying breakfast to hold me over before the game day festivities. After a quick scroll of options, I was directed to a small strip mall in the Ashburn Village area, travel time about 8 minutes. From the outside it looked like a basic coffee shop, &I almost reverted to good ol’ Unilocal for another suggestion. However, when some customers were coming out & I overheard how good the Black Bean Burger was, I decided to stay & give it a chance. It’s a little cramped, with a handful of tables — some with booth backs, yet stationed as spacious as possible to avoid tripping over each other… still a comfy environment. We were greeted by two different people behind the counter & asked if this was our 1st time visiting. Our yes response got us another friendly salutation & a quick tutorial on the menu, ordering & paying afterwards. The man that was helping us ended up being the Owner and Cashier all at once. He was very proud in letting us know that everything is organic, fresh and made to order. After my in depth menu glance & a few back & forth looks, I opted for the Smoked Salmon Wrap. The wrap was multi grain & dairy/gluten free. Negated the cheese, eggs & dill sauce & requested some Hummus. In addition to the fresh greens, slivers of red onions, cucumbers, capers, the wrap was a sensational hit in my stomach! Since I was in greedy mode the morning after of good times, I was in need of a little bit of starch. Hence, I tried the sauteed potatoes. They were lightly cooked in Olive Oil & seasoned with cracked pepper, very good potatoes that were sliced perfectly & not under or over cooked. My friend got the Sausage/Egg/Cheese Sandwich on wheat bread, came out looking very fresh & healthy, he said it was very good & filling. We both opted for Orange Juice & it was overly fresh! As if they were squeezing oranges while we waited for our food LOL. I enjoyed seeing & utilizing the Self-Serve Water Dispenser(many times) & when I decided last minute to get a Chamomile Tea to go, I was overly ecstatic that they offered Agave. One more back step, as I wanted to try the Organic Living SuperFoods packet(another treat in front of the counter), that had organic raw«white chocolate» cashews, almonds & cacao nibs. It’s Gluten Free, Dairy Fee, Vegan, Raw & Organic. For a 1.4oz package, the $ 3 price was pretty good. As well as being very tasty… I’m still snacking on it. Bathroom is unisex & again, a little cramped yet very tidy. Side nuggets of observations: * If you order Coffee, you get your own pot(French press style) for the table * Fresh Smoothie Selection * Tiers of fresh baked goodies in front of the counter * Vintage Elektra Expresso Machine as Décor * Black Boards with the Daily Specials * Great Kid’s Selection OUTSTANDING customer service on all fronts! Must give a shout to the guy who resets the tables, as he made sure every customer was being taken care of, especially when it came to seating. This was a good breakfast experience. I would definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

Nope. This place just didn’t do it for me. I went w/a friend on a Saturday morning for a late breakfast. The place was fairly busy but not so busy that we had to wait for a table. The menu for breakfast was small but contained the usual breakfast items(eggs, waffles, bagels, etc.). However, despite the name of the restaurant, very little on the menu was actually organic… some dishes offered an organic«option» with an upcharge(e.g. $ 2 more for organic eggs in your omelette). There was also an upcharge for some gluten-free items, e.g. bread and pancakes. When I ordered my food(over $ 15 for a non-organic omelette and coffee, sheesh) at the counter(why they don’t take your order at the table, I couldn’t figure out), two of the seemingly dozens of workers behind the counter began arguing w/one another about how to ring up my meal. This didn’t bode well for the rest of the experience. My friend got her meal fairly quickly. About 5 mins after her food arrived, a worker came to the table and asked me what I ordered… odd, since that same thing had happened to the table next to us about 15 mins prior while I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Does this restaurant understand how to take an order and prepare food accordingly? About 20 mins later, yet another worker came over to ask how our meal was… I pointed out that I had not yet received mine, so I couldn’t say. She asked again what I ordered, I stated my order for the 3rd time that morning, and about 10 mins later, I did get my food. I had the Garden omelette, 2 strips of bacon, and coffee. The omelette was just okay… the veggies in it were crunchy and the eggs were overcooked, making it rather dry. The bacon was good… thick cut and flavorful. The coffee was good, served in an individual french press, but it was only enough for 1.5 cups of coffee, and mugs used at this place are absolutely tiny — they are literally from Ikea and hold about 8 ounces. Thus, I was charged $ 3 for a total of about 12 ounces of coffee… I didn’t even bother to ask if a refill of the french press was included in the price. As we were about to leave, a worker came over and asked if we had ever received our toast… we said we did not, so she plopped a plate of random white bread toast on our table and left. Another worker came on her heels and intimated that the bread was not for us, but didn’t take it away. I ate a piece as an act of protest against the crappy service, then we left(we paid at the counter when we ordered… too bad I had put a tip on the bill already!). As we were leaving, the two women at the table next to us leaned over to mention they also had experienced the same terrible service and mediocre food, so it looks like we were not the only ones. I certainly wouldn’t come back to this restaurant and I suggest you also look elsewhere for your breakfasting needs.

Cute place, we ate outside. We had the bean and turkey burger and the pancakes . The owner brought us a complimentary gluten free cherry cake as dessert, it was absolutely delicious . I highly recommend it.

30 minutes for 2 bagels!!! Absolutely ridiculous and on top of that, they weren’t very good. I am furious they even charged us for such poor service. We will never be back here. There were at least 3 other families that had the same issue while we were there.

Came here this morning for breakfast. Ordered the western omelette made with organic eggs. I can honestly say I’ve never had one much better than this. It is ham, onion, organic salsa, jalapeños and cheese. While it would have been interesting for the jalapeños to have been fresh instead of pickled, it tasted amazing as it was. As my side I got the breakfast sausage. I eat a fairly low sodium diet so the patty was a little too salty for my tastes but it was a good tasting patty. The décor is homey and the employees were friendly. The payment system of ordering, eating, then paying at the counter is not really that different from many a small town diner and the place was not terribly busy so this oddity was not an issue at all for me, but the prospect of waiting in line twice when it’s busy might be a bit of a pain to some. Solid place. Would recommend and come again.

What a little gem! Everything on the sparse menu struck me as thoughtfully curated– and when it came to the table, deliciously prepared. I knew it was a good sign when I placed my order, I was asked many questions about the particular details of how I wanted my dish prepared. This is the kind of place that nails those little details often overlooked, and gets the big stuff right, too. Everything was delicious, and the coffee is excellent(as was relayed to me by my dining companions). I make occasional business trips to this area, so I’ll be returning at every possible opportunity.

This is totally my type of joint and I’ve been looking for places like this since I’ve been back home from Richmond(where there are plenty of local, hipster shops) and stumbled upon this cute café for Saturday brunch. The Garden Variety Omelette was plenty of food and the side of potatoes were excellent. The Belgian Waffles were delicious too(comes with either bacon or sausages on the side). The Smoked Salmon breakfast sandwich was just okay but that might be because I prefer raw salmon much more than smoked ones. The ordering process is a bit confusing though, because you order at the counter, grab a table, then have to return to the counter to pay at the end of the meal. All in all, the 3 of us were very pleased with the food and the ambience.

Almost a 3 stars but I had to bring it to a 2 FOOD: Definitely needs some help. I understand all is organic, etc… but my chicken sandwich lacked the chicken… probably one of the smallest pieces of chicken. The flat bread was not very fresh but it held the contents. As for our other dish it had ingredients that were not on the menu… very odd. OVERALL: Pricey for the poor quality of food. I love the concept and it appears they satisfy most.

Don’t get the mean grean«juice». It tastes like cucumber water and costs 5 bucks! The latte’s aren’t great either. Overall, nice location, nice staff, lovely food.

Had to try this place with all the Unilocal love it was getting so we headed over there for Sunday brunch. The place is tucked away in a strip mall type location with a nondescript sign bearing it’s name. It was fairly busy although we were handed menus promptly. The staff seemed friendly as well. The ambience is ok, clean but a little drab. They have a bunch of board games that you can take to your table to play that did give it a cozy feeling. There’s a small patio with a few tables outside but the weather wasn’t suitable. The ordering process is interesting: you wait in line to order, then grab a table while they prep your food, food is delivered to your table, you finish your meal and then get back in line to pay. This is even stranger considering they have checkout via an iPad if you’re paying by credit card.(Where’s the sense in this process?) Anyway on to the food. We ordered the Ashburn breakfast(croissant/egg/cheese sandwich) and a Belgian waffle. The wife ordered a side power smoothie while mine came with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything on the menu is set, and it seems like you pay extra for any small change you want to make the the dish. I asked if the sausage could be swapped(read substituted not added) with something else and I was told it would be extra. We felt both food items were absolutely average. The croissant + egg on my sandwich was good but the sausage tasted like it was straight out of a package. The waffle was decent but the best part of that dish was the side of bacon. The special smoothie was interesting but came in a pretty small cup for which we paid an obscene $ 5. Seriously? My orange juice was actually great, but same size as the smoothie. Total damage for two plates + two cups of juice: $ 30. It’s not so much that the food was bad but considering how crazy overpriced the menu is, I give it 2 stars. Doubt I’ll ever go back.

Great and friendly staff. Self serve with the coffee and water so it’s more like a bistro shop to me, but the food was very fresh and good. Great options for different meal flavor and juices. Will definitely be back.

OK — if you are vegetarian/vegan, you’ll find nothing mind blowing. Their veggie wrap was pretty good, asked to swap out dairy sauce for hummus, but they forgot so the wrap came out to be a bit bland and dry. Ended up adding my own hummus at home. Fresh juice is nice and I appreciate the ‘organic’ attempt.

We visited this amazing gem for breakfast and what a delight ! The shop is adorable and the food is probably the best breakfast/brunch we have had in all of NOVA. Keep up the good work guys, we can’t wait to come back! One suggestion — for drinks that will be enjoyed while in, perhaps they should be served in glass cups to be more environmentally friendly? Just a thought !
