Some of the best brunch dishes I have had in VA. Their food is creative, filling, worth the price, and exciting for the tongue. While they are always busy, I have never had any trouble with attentive, effective, service. I adore their chicken and waffles. They take a spin on this classic dish that is all their own, and deserves mention. The waffles are huge, sweet and savory, with a twist of bell peppers(trust me– choice well made). Their eggs Benedict is dreamy, rich, and can range from simple to decadent. The egg cooked perfectly and paired expertly with outstanding flavors. Their omelets are to die for. Enough said. My suggestion: go to this place NOW!

Another visit and another disappointing meal. I guess I just can’t get excited by dirty glassware with red splashes of juice all over my glass with my ice tea. We have been here many times and we keep hoping they will learn to toast toast– warm bread is not toast. the manager will let you know that they can toast the toast twice and the dishwasher top rack must not have rinsed well… hmmmmm not exactly worth my time to train the staff.

The menu is huge and has many many options to choose from, including breakfast all day. I have been twice and have experienced great service and have had great food both times!

Walked in at lunch time, seated very quickly! My server is just precious & super knowledgable. I ordered the green monster: shake with spinach, blueberries, banana, Greek yogurt, skim milk and honey!(AWESOME!) and my friend got coffee with skim milk. Tastes good, strong. I ordered the Eggsuberant & so did my friend. I got turkey bacon, he got bacon. I ordered cheesy grits and my friend got the lyonnaise style potatoes. I also go scrambled eggs with cheese! Everyone else’s food smells awesome, so I’m excited. Good was GREAT! Cheesy grits were okay, but everything else was good. Price was a little steep for this amount I could’ve went to IHop and pigged out, BUT it’s different!

It was nice inside and the portions are pretty big. My salmon Benedict was a little too salty for my taste but it was a wonderful brunch. They’re desserts are very good to save for a treat later on if you’re too full!

Ate there on Sunday and it was great. Ordered the eggchilada which was awesome. Their smoothies and fresh juices are refreshing. I will probably not go to an IHOP again!

The food here is really, really good. The eggs Florentine is a favorite of mine. When it comes to service, the staff is also quite good, very polite. The atmosphere SHOULD be very charming, as a lot of effort goes into it, but this is marred by the patronage. Screaming children are always brought in, running around. I know, not the staffs fault, but it DEFINITELY affects the atmosphere. I’d try to come by on off peak hours.

I LOVEEGGSPECTATION. I used to live in Columbia MD and would frequent that location, but have since moved to VA, and the Leesburg location is now the closest one. My point is this – the food is consistently AWESOME from one Eggspectation to the next. You get a huge selection of good food and good drink – you can’t do better than this.

We love this place — we saw poor reviews regarding the service and price, but took a chance and haven’t regretted it. Consistently good food and accommodating to the needs of gluten or lactose intolerance. Service has been very good and quick, so whatever was the issue previously it’s fixed now. And I don’t find the price out of line for a nice atmosphere and really good food. It’s not fast food and it’s not ihop, thankfully! So you pay for it.

First time here at this location. Overall it was a good experience. Our waiter was kind. Food was great; I ordered an eggspectation omelet. However, I asked the waiter for a knife and he never brought one. He also never asked if our meal was good. Keep in mind the place was not busy at all(Friday around 10 am).

Did not meet my eggspectations. Food was cold, which I did not eggspect –being that the place was dead and not busy at all. Cold food is always a big turnoff for me, not to mention the price I paid for«cold food.» Got the Eggs Benedict with turkey sausage and potatoes that looked reheated(not fresh looking at all) Didn’t have time to speak with a manager since I had an appointment to follow. To sum it up, dead restaurant with dead looking food. Horrible, dark and very depressing atmosphere. Was eggspecting a bright, warm and elegant atmosphere which would attract a lot more return visits from customers… and hot, fresh looking food of course. Don’t think I’ll be returning or encouraging my friends to come.

So, my best friend had been eyeing Eggspectation for a few months and decided to grab brunch today. First impression, it was really cold. But, our waiter was nice enough but not overly bearing. There was this table beside us that was letting their 3 boys throw paper airplanes around the restaurant and one actually hit a staff waiter. But, none of the staff said anything to stop them. Like«hey you’re disturbing other guests». The table right in front of ours had a crying baby that didn’t seem to be appeased by anything that the parents were doing. I said all that to say that this is not an adult spot to eat brunch and drink your mimosa in peace. I got the Chesapeake Benedict and it was good. I then ordered the coconut cake which just seemed to be a piece of yellow cake with thick butter cream frosting and a little shaved coconut sprinkled on top. I took a few bits and threw the rest away.

Great food being horribly tarnished with poor service. We went on a weekday for breakfast, and despite the restaurant being practically empty, the server couldn’t seem to be bothered to check on us, refill drinks in a timely manner, or even drop off the bill and collect money. Eggspectation has a vast amount of options to choose from, and from what we’ve had, they’re very tasty. I love the idea that breakfast is available all day. Sadly, the lack of customer care dissolves our desire to go here. Why pay a premium for breakfast if the service isn’t there? May as well just go to IHOP. At least at that rate you’re paying far less, and know not to expect good service. ***UPDATE*** Received an e-mail from the manager who invited us to come back on her dime. Received the gift card in the mail, and it was only for $ 25.00 — I.E. not enough to cover two people. Will not be back to use the card if I have to be out of pocket. That defeats the purpose of extending an invitation to customers to make it right by offering their next meal on you.

My love and I frequent this place quite a bit. It started out with Groupons. The staff is extremely friendly, and they actually remember us. The staff retention is also great, as over a course of a couple of years we still see the same employees. It feels great to be recognized and remembered, especially when we don’t come every week or sometimes we skip a couple months. Manager usually stops by to see how our food was, as well as the server of course. If your in a hurry I don’t think this place is for you. Not saying its particularly slow, but a very relaxing pleasant dining experience, which mainly is what we are looking for when we go out to a restaurant. As far as the food I have not had one thing to complain about. I always leave full and satisfied. We usually go there around dinner time, because once in awhile we love doing the breakfast for dinner thing. I usually order the same thing, here being the Western Omelette with added 4 cheese blend. Delicious! Whats also amazing is you can get a small side of french toast as your bread! The french toast here with the butter they have is phenomenal, at least to me. Its the perfect option after having a nice hearty breakfast, topping it off with a succulent sweet french toast to end the meal. Later in the evening I never feel sick bloated or that feeling after eating processed food or carb overload. Always feels just right. Prices are rather reasonable in my opinion, especially when considering the taste, quality, and satisfaction we get from every meal!

I tried this place for the first time today and was kind of bummed. The first problem was we were seated in a booth made of slat wood park benches. It was about as comfortable as you would imagine and we ended up moving to a table that also had hard wooden seats. Maybe they want you to eat quickly and get out? The menu was diverse. My husband and I each got standard breakfast fare and it was okay. It came out quickly and was piping hot. His omelette was a little dry, but edible. The meal offered nothing that would justify an $ 18 price tag(that was breakfast and coffee just for one person!) Lose the novelty benches for something more comfortable and lower your prices by 20% and I’ll bet you would have happier and loyal customers.

I really enjoyed our brunch the other day, I got a cinnamon roll frozen coffee and it was okay but they layered it and served it instead of mixed it up and with all that whipped cream it was difficult to mix. I tried the breakfast burrito, it was really good but I wish I had tried the lobster & grits I had my eye on… I will be back for that!

I was surprised by all the bad reviews for Eggspectation. They had kept me away for quite some time. I was pretty hesitant, and well, this place isn’t in the most convenient location. But wow, I was quite impressed by the range of the menu — and don’t be fooled, it’s not just a breakfast place, and there’s plenty there outside of just eggs. The service was perfect — the waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was mostly quiet and pretty clean. The booths are spacious. But the food — oh my! I can see how it would depend on what you get. It seems like the run-of-the-mill stuff might not be up to par with what you’d expect from other ‘breakfasty’ restaurants. For example, the breakfast burrito wasn’t great. It had potato in it, which is a silly thing to put inside of a burrito — starch on starch just makes for a really dry meal. It also had some bacon and egg and such in it, but it didn’t impress very much. The Lyonnaise potatoes, however, are mmm mmm good! Crispy, seasoned, quite delicious. However, I think it’s when you’re willing to be adventurous at Eggspectation that you’ll really be rewarded. They have some interesting out-of-the-ordinary dishes, one of which I tried — the Bayou Benedict. It’s eggs benedict in an amazing spicy sauce, featuring chorizo, chicken breast and jumbo shrimp. It too comes with the potatoes(and of course two poached eggs atop fried polenta triangles). It’s a meal fit for a very hungry man — even I, with quite the appetite, could not finish it all. Half of the chicken came home with me for lunch the next day. I really enjoyed Eggspectation. There’s a little room for improvement on some standard items like the breakfast burrito, and honestly it all feels a little too pricey for egg-based platters. And don’t get me started on the ridiculously tiny and laughable pieces of fruit they garnish the plates with. But overall, this is a place that delivers hearty, delicious meals and good service. I certainly would go back.

I’m not sure why the previous reviews aren’t more positive — had breakfast here this morning and it was awesome. Took my 5yo and he loved his chocolate chip pancakes. My blueberry ones were so delicious and the blueberries were fresh. I had a mocha which was made with chocolate milk and we also shared turkey sausage patties that were perfect. The prices are reasonable enough — our breakfast was just over $ 20 before tip. I think this place is above average and I can’t wait to come back!
