This steakhouse has been opened for two weeks so if they last at all please consider that they may get better. First off this place is totally overpriced. My $ 37.00 New York strip was about ½″ thick. I expected it to be overcooked when it arrived but it was only slightly over medium. The peppered sauce was delicious and almost made up for the fact that the food was served warmish, which is weird considering we were the only ones in the restaurant. The twice baked potato was total crap,(how do you mess those up) but my Caesar salad was good as was the Molten cake. The cream brûlée was eggy and a big disappointment. As for the service it’s my opinion that they are using their banquet people as servers and they really have little to no training on table service, and yes there is a difference. The general manager was friendly and engaging but I never go out to chat with restaurant staff so personally I would have preferred less interaction on his part. I will not revisit this restaurant unless Unilocal changes my mind over time.

Excellent steak dinner. Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, very tender and flavorful! I was celebrating a huge athletic milestone so I went over the top with steak, twice baked potato and brussel sprouts and a Caesar salad. Every thing was great. It was also fun since I was visiting to eat in a historic mansion with so much rich history. I would highly recommend and everyone who was working was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

My husband and I were in the mood for a steak but trying to find a middle ground between Outback and DC Prime prices. We are always up to try a new restaurant and based on the previous review thought this sounded perfect. Well, let me just start by saying that our server tonight was«April» the same person that wrote the glowing review that brought us in. April also just happens to be the assistant manager, so her review is extremely inaccurate. My husband and I love to eat and enjoy good food but far from extremely picky and always try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. We found our dining experience to be lacking in every possible way and as the evening continued it just kept worse and harder to overlook. Ambiance: Not bad… I see what they are trying to do with the old farm house turned upscale dining experience. The potential was there. However they didn’t have the small touches that you expect going in to high scale dining experience; for example: no candles on the tables, beautiful large fireplaces weren’t lit, and noisy ac window unit was an eye sore. Overall, the best part of the meal but hardly impressive. The Food: The bread was warm but seemed like it was just pulled from the microwave, not fresh from the over. We each started with a salad. The garden salad was very plain, basic greens and chopped onion and tomatoes… no nuts, no cheese, not even a croûton on the plate. Ceasar salad was not great either, very plain and unimpressive. Up until this point neither of us were impressed, but we truly were trying to make the best of it thinking surly that the main course would make up for the lack-luster start. Keep in mind that most of the meals are $ 30+ and come with no sides. Personally, if I am paying for a $ 34 steak it better be a REALLY good cut of meat and cooked to perfection. We ordered the Ribeye with scalloped potatoes and the Filet Mignon with brussel sprouts. The Ribeye was very thin, we are talking like ½ inches thin, and covered in sauce that overtook the flavor of the little bit of steak on the plate. The Filet was served with a very watery«blue cheese» sauce that looked extremely unappealing and the steak itself was undercooked and lacking any wow factor. Typically I love brussel sprouts but these were gross, soggy and unappealing in every way. The Service: The service was friendly but far from the type of service you expect at an upper scale restaurant. She was extremely slow, didn’t know what Pellegrino was(and when I explained it was bubbly water she brought out a plastic water bottle), and never even brought us water or asked if we wanted any. Also at the end of the meal, they gave us the wrong check. I totally understand that accidents happen but we were one of two tables in the whole restaurant and they still managed to get our bill wrong, twice. I understand that this is a new restaurant and I truly hope that they get it together and become successful, but I have to say that I have zero interest in ever going back. We spent $ 150 on a meal with poor service, unappetizing food, and overall disapointing dining experience. We left wishing we would have either gone to outback and saved $ 50 or spend and extra $ 50 and been wow-ed by DC Prime. Do yourself a favor and learn from our mistakes.
