Lucky’s Burger-N-Tap

Very slow service in a dark bar atmosphere. Food
Slightly better than most bar food. Burgers are their best item and thats a stretch. Typical hand patties supposedly but more like a frozen patty. Appetizer platter was cheap disappointing items in small portions for $ 7. Stopped in after a teio to the zoo but wouldnt return.
Cheap beer though!!!

Good food! Good music! But attracts the worst clientele. You can’t kick back and relax without a lot of losers that had wayyy too much to drink trying to fight with everyone. I have to deal with immature children all day. Im not going to on my day off. Will not be back

Lucky’s is truly where you’d have to get lucky just to get acknowledged! Four stars for Lucky’s? Are you kidding me? BTW, this is NOT a sports bar, but rather a dark, dreary, dirty dive bar at best! Walked in to this Bar Rescue candidate two days ago. As I came in, it was so dark that it took a minute for your eyes to adjust to to see! I stood in the doorway as the lady bar tending and assumably the owner/​manager sitting at the bar turned and made eye contact. Nobody said a word so I assumed it was safe to sit at any of the empty tables as there were only two taken! I sat looking at the menu, quickly realizing it was only greasy bar food available, and again eye contact was made with the bartender. Finally, a few men walked in as she know has a tray of drinks presumably going to one of the only two tables taken. She instead puts the tray down, acknowledges the guys and takes their order! I got up and proceeded to leave and never acknowledged on my way out! A dump dive bar is what this place truly is, with a employee and/​or owner that has just given up. Mr Taffer where are you?

Came through here on spring break. Burger was homemade and craft beer was cold! Awesome food and bar atmosphere. No kids after 10? Must get rowdy lol

Relaxed atmosphere. Service is spot on and the food is fantastic! Come here to enjoy some great food… Friendly atmosphere … And awesome drinks, all at an absolutely reasonable price. From apps, to wraps and sandwiches/​burgers with any fixins’ you want — at no extra charge might I add — this place has it all. I

Went here this last week with my girlfriend. Nice little place. Atmosphere was great. Food was good also. Great drink specials. The service was good also. Just to let everyone know it is a great whole in the wall. Will almost certainly return.

Ok food for the price. Good Jams on Tuesday. But no place in Asheboro is in such high demand it warrants a cover charge (5 – 10 and sometimes 20). Nothing says a town is pro-​business like a few police officers seated and starring directly at a bars entrance. No, thanks.

This place is full of failed former strippers and current STDs. Was asked by well-​weathered over made up waitress to stop the conversation I was having about bands because «we don’t talk about them bands in here.» The drink order took more than 15 mins for two beers and one mixed drink with only 4 other tables seated and two at the bar. The staff treated each other like they were about to break out into an orgy at any second, too much pawing and way too many sketchy looking dudes in band/​cooking/​bartending rubbing up on what I can only describe, in the nicest way, high school cheerleaders 20 yrs, lots of make up and c-​section scars later. Place just had the feel of creepy and dirty. Will never return for any reason.

Advertised ‘worst burger’ did not disappoint. Fresh ingredients and a dozen free fixings to finish it off. Buffalo chips are scratch made with a sauce that cuts down the crispness in a good way. Live music at night, billiards, craft beer and local selection, and the BEST service I’ve ever had. The service team is always rotating through making sure all are happy. This is now our local stop when we in Asheboro.

Great lunch stop! Fried green beans & onion rings were awesome! Portions were good size– only get the big burger if you’re starving. The buffalo wings were large and yummy.

My husband wanted a GOOD burger… so went went to Luckys well… still searching for that GOOD burger… lololololol…Just kidding… we enjoyed the food prices good… Burgers were GREAT!!! Dont let the trash talk on the walks fool or scare ya off… We will b back…

Typical local burger joint. Staff was nice, place was clean. Selection was standard for a bar. Great TVs for watching the game, good beer selection. The burger and fries were good. The grilled cheese on texas toast was yummy.

Average beer selection. Food was not good at all. The buffalo chicken sandwich was basically a chicken patty with a little sauce o it. Burger wasn’t fresh. Fried pickles were over done and falling apart. Wouldn’t eat here again.

This is a great place to grab a drink after work! The fried green beans and Pickles were awesome! Good service, great music, we will be back!

This is the thing, I don’t like Bars so usually I never consider sitting down in one to eat. Then I went on vacation and looked on Unilocal for nearby restaurants and saw this place. The closer we got the more I thought to myself that’s exactly where I was going. When we walked in there I was in a Bar, ugh. It was very, very clean and not too busy so I told everyone with me «Lets do this.» Definitely not a typical bar. Fun décor and very clean and their menu had lots of choices. Their motto «the worse burgers in town» is far from the truth and the same with their breaded chicken finger sandwich. Everyone liked the food and it was at a very good price. Two meals were $ 17.00. Highly recommend you to try.

We were here for a short stay to the zoo so we went by after reading fellow Unilocal reviews. Now, the name of the bar «Burger-​n – Tap» made me think gastro pub but it was not. I was very happy with my ½ lb bacon cheeseburger w/​fresh made chips. The burger was juicy and fresh. Same went for the chips. However, I was disappointed that my burger options were very limited to cheese, bacon and the usual condiments. I was craving something more but, as said earlier, very happy with my burger. My wife loved the BLT. My daughter got the chicken fingers, which she enjoyed, too. The signs around the place made it clear they had beer specials daily. The bar was very dark, which was expected for a bar. I was expecting a restaurant since it was in the Walmart shopping center but it is more of a bar/​sports bar that has a simple menu but serves very good food. The wife and I would go back if we lived in the area but we wouldn’t take our child again as it doesn’t feel like a child should be there. Now, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a dive bar, it is clean, staff is friendly, the locals that were there were not scuzzy at all. Anyway, very good eats and a fair price.

Stopped in here for burgers before a trip to the zoo based on the positive Unilocal reviews, and it did not disappoint! Burgers were flavorful, fries were ok– but the homemade chips were better, and the service was great (there were only a couple of other tables in there, but the bartender/​server was very friendly & attentive). Nice find in the little town of Asheboro!

This place is soo good and friendly. I got the grill cheese and you can put anything in there that you want. A friend of mine got a burger and said it was really good! We all shared a few apps… such as cheese fries, fried green beans, fried pickles. I have to say the fried green beans were my fav! The sweet tea was also very yummy!

The burger was very good a three napkin burger cooked just right. Service was fast and friendly. The beer selection lacks a lot to be desired. They call their beer choice domestic and imported even though only one of the beers was an import. I recommended that they call them domestic and craft. Although as craft beers go they had Fat Tire, Buckshot, Sweetwater

Lucky’s is hidden in the corner of the Wal-​Mart Shopping Center. An unassuming and relatively small place, Lucky’s is a nice place to hang out, have a drink, and enjoy friends. Although they have twelve beers on tap, most are the usual suspects, except they did have two North Carolina brews.
The sanitation rating is a high A boasting a 99.0. The waitress… ok cute waitress… was friendly and didn’t give me that «I ain’t see you around here before» attitude that you get in some local establishments. Instead she was helpful and quick to get me my drink (aka NC Beer).
I ordered a cheeseburger with chili, slaw, mustard, onions, pickles (oh yeah, Southern style). The waitress asked if I wanted a small burger and I stated, nope, regular. Mistake! Small does not mean kiddie size. Small means one 4oz patty. The regular is a whopping two patty half-​pound beast.
The food came out rather quickly. The fries were thin but very hot and tasty. The burger was much better than a «chain burger» but not the best I have had. They do use fresh ground beef that is hand formed there. However, they do not make their own ground beef on site which means in NC it must be cooked at least to well done. Given I like my burgers medium the lack of site ground beef was a bit of a bummer. Yet, they did use good southern style chili and slaw plus when I asked for hot sauce on my burger it came with Texas Pete! oh yeah.
Over all Lucky’s was a pretty good find. I visited on an early Wednesday evening and there wasn’t much gong on which made me think it would be a good early stop for families. Dad has a beer, mom has a cocktail, and the kids have some games to play. However, probably not a late night family spot. Probably more for couples or just to visit on your own. Summary? Pretty good. Will visit again if I’m in the area and want a low key meal.
