My parents got my boyfriend and I tickets to the Biltmore(their Candlelight Christmas Evening) and reservations for the Candlelight Dinner at their Stable Café. The whole night was wonderful and dinner was fantastic! They were able to seat us earlier than our reservation time, and their whole staff were professional and friendly. The meal was phenomenal, I got the rack of lamb and my boyfriend go the filet, we shared our two appetizers(gnocchi and bisque) and they were kind enough to pack our deserts up to go. It was such a wonderful end to day!

Oh my gosh. So expensive. I felt the Biltmore was trying to nickle and dime me at every turn. $ 40 for lunch? Outrageous! I get it! You have a business to run. Rich heirs and heiresses to further enrich. The café is in an f’ing stable for crying out loud! If you are going to charge me $ 40 a meal, I should get to eat it in the main hall in the house. But it was pretty good. Really good. I will probably go back. Just not during the Holidays.

What a great location and themed spot to dine on the Biltmore property! The restaurant is designed as a stable and it stays true to the idea. We dined here on December 30, 2015 in the evening. I had researched the menu and was excited to try some southern comfort food. Unfortunately, they were offering a set 3-course menu with a few entrée selections. I ate a mushroom stuffed ravioli garnished with spinach, cherry tomatoes and bacon. It had an excellent taste and the sauce was a good consistency. The desserts were great. We had a bread pudding and a peppermint chocolate cheesecake. Both great tasting homemade delicacies. I wish they would have offered the daily menu though instead of the set one.

Good food, farm to table focus. Some days you just have to lead with dessert. We did our Biltmore house tour and found ourselves suddenly enormously hungry. So we went with a friend’s recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed a slice of my favorite pie, sweet potato. But this was a two-person slice, topped with a tower of meringue and accompanied by glazed pecans. I don’t even like meringue(usually when we get lemon meringue I have lemon pie and hubs is forced to take one for the team in the form of lemon meringue meringue) but evidently when it is «toasted citrus meringue» it’s my new favorite topping. For our entrée we tried the 2-person Appalachian Sampler, which our server assured us was not only his favorite but also the top seller. I liked the pulled pork best and hubs the smoked ribs. The rotisserie chicken we could do without — grocery store rotisserie chicken is getting better to the point that it’s nothing exceptional. The collard greens had a surprising kick to them but were good; sweet potatoes were excellent. If you have the time to wait, request a booth. We’ve sat in the loft before and it’s just like a normal table in the most upscale«rustic» setting ever. Today we were offered a table immediately on arrival but opted to take a table buzzer and wait the 15min to sit in what was once a horse’s stall. It sounds absurd to call that ambiance but it’s not barn ambiance, it’s private dining experience ambiance.

I reviewed the Bistro earlier this year(the restaurant at the Biltmore’s Ant Hill Winery) and I didn’t think the restaurants at the Biltmore could get any better than the Bistro, but I am happy to say that I was mistaken! Recently, my boyfriend and I decided to visit the Candlelight Christmas Evenings at the Biltmore. We were running a little behind and knew we wouldn’t have time to eat before arriving, so we ended up eating at the Stable Café as it is conveniently right next to the Biltmore Estate. And wow, we were both very satisfied with the quality of the food and the service. They were offering a pumpkin soup that night. When I asked whether the soup was sweet or not, our server said she had the perfect answer and to wait a second. To my surprise, she came back with a small cup of the soup. It was not sweet at all and simply delicious. Smooth, creamy, and tasted exactly like pumpkin. I know for a fact we were not her only table, which just means she truly went above and beyond to make each table feel like we were her only. That night my boyfriend ordered steak(medium rare) and I ordered the elk rack(medium well). Both were delicious. The steak was tender and juicy. It was definitely a pleasant surprise as I usually don’t have high expectations for steak outside of a steakhouse. The elk was also full of flavor and I am definitely glad I decided to try deer meat for the first time at the Stable. Even the sides/veggies were tasty. The dessert was a little too sweet for me, but the presentation was gorgeous(you know, those cake that look too good to eat?). I think for the average person the dessert will be just right. Overall, a solid A+ for food and service from me!

Delicious and cozy. I had the pumpkin bisque and the turkey & cranberry sandwich. Delicious! Service was fast. Expected tourist attraction prices, but not outrageous.

Such a treat in such a busy place. The potato garlic soup was to die for, and I could barely finish half of my Chicken salad sandwich on toasted sourdough. The booths used to be horse stalls! I would add tomato to the chicken salad and share it for an affordable meal in a not so affordable place.

We ate lunch at the Stable Café on a Sunday during the Christmas season and didn’t even have a wait for a table. So that was great! The ambience of eating in the large stable, that housed the carriages and hay, was so unique and so relaxing. Xmas décor everywhere and lights were low, it was just a great meal and half he price of the dinner options for the Biltmore. The service was friendly and the food great. My husband had the burger which he said was fantastic and I had grilled cheese and tomato soup. The flavors were excellent and the portions were large; I didn’t even Finish mine. Very happy with our choice!

We reserved a table ahead of time, arrived and was quickly seated after a short ride in the private elevator. After being blown away by the pricing and limited menu The taste of white cheddar crab dip brought me back to reality. It was very tasty! I did find it odd that the bottles for sale in the restaurant for twice the price of it in the Biltmore winery shop! Then the food promptly arrives and we are in heaven. Desert was amazing!

Pricey but you’re paying for the experience and the experience is lovely. Come without worrying about your wallet and enjoy yourself! The dinner is a fun three course meal and you can pair it with wines and fun! Cozy and lovely!

The food is always excellent here. We went for a candlelight dinner before doing the Christmas tour at the Biltmore Estate. I have to say our waiter took a little long to get to us after we sat down, which is why they only got 4 stars. But once service began he was excellent, on top of our drinks and rolls and was very friendly. We had a 3 course meal with no complaints and the price wasn’t bad at all. I will definitely be returning!

We dined here after our tour of the Biltmore. The wait staff was friendly and helpful with the menu selections. I ordered a burger and my friends split a sampler plate. We were very happy with our selections and enjoyed the meal. I then ordered a dessert… because that’s what I do… full or not. The smore’s dessert was very delish! The prices were fair. No complaints. I would recommend to anyone dining on the estate.

There’s some thing kind of cool about having a meal in the place where horses and carriages belonging to the Vanderbilts once trod. My wife and I were seated up in the loft(yes, there’s two floors to this place.) The service here was very good. Our waiter was punctual with keeping our drinks filled. I ordered the rotisserie chicken, which is supposed a 100 year tradition at the Biltmore Estate. It came with potato wedges and a seasonal vegetable medley consisting of zucchini, squash, green beans, and onions. I don’t know about a 100 year tradition, but the chicken tasted like it had been frozen, acquired some freezer burn, and then was tossed onto the rotisserie. That frozen taste was the only flavor that it had. The portion that I ordered was the«leg» portion, and it was definitely the leg of a cornish game hen as opposed to a chicken. Given the fact that it wasn’t very good quality, the small portion size was more of a blessing than anything. The potato wedges were great, and the vegetables were fine also. My wife ordered the Carolina BBQ plate. She had no complaints about her meal of pulled pork and spicy fries. She cleaned her plate. The prices are a bit high. My plate was $ 12. It was actually less money than the cheeseburger that was on the menu, which is odd. Usually, the burger is the cheap go to. Overall, our experience was satisfactory. If I go back to the estate, I might stop here, but I would not get the chicken again. I doubt that Mr. Vanderbilt would have been pleased with the quality of that dish if it was put before him.

We had lunch here after our tour of the estate. The location is the original stable at the Biltmore and it’s beautiful and well preserved. We actually sat in a booth inside an old horse stall. Although it caters to the thousands of tourists that visit every day the food was quite solid. I had a bacon bison burger and the wife had a fried bean fritter wrap. Both were very good. For desert we split the Key lime pie with a meringue topping. Also had a couple of their local beers on tap which is always enjoyable.

We are Biltmore Passholders and have eaten at every restaurant on the estate many times over. We have always enjoyed the Stable Café because it’s convenient to the house and the food and service has been good. That all changed yesterday. Our«waiter», Peter, was terrible. He walked around like he was in a trance. I was drinking unsweetened iced tea, he refilled my glass with sweet tea. He stumbled around, aimlessly. He seemed overwhelmed with the three tables he was taking care of. It was the first time ever that we didn’t leave our customary 25+% tip. Our food was ok, but Peter didn’t serve it, someone else brought our meals to our table — only after they tried to deliver it to another table! We later had ice cream and the two employees in the ice cream shop hadn’t a clue! People were actually walking out in disgust. It’s time that Biltmore pay attention to how their staff is performing. Also, many of the staff inside the home didn’t even make eye contact with the guests! Hello? Any body there? It cost a small fortune to visit Biltmore — so why not provide good value for money??!

Decent food for when you need a quick break from the amazing estate. There were 5 of us so we were seated in a booth tucked in a former horse stall which was nice and cozy. I tried the smoked turkey sandwich(basically a club) which was perfectly crispy with thick bacon and nice slices of turkey and fresh tomatoes. Three in our group enjoyed the chicken salad which was a big healthy scoop of moist flavorful chicken salad over friend greens. The service was friendly and we were happy with the meal. It was a nice spot for lunch.

Go to lunch spot while on the Biltmore grounds. We did not feel taken for granted as tourist in the service and food we received. Will defiantly be back.

Yummy stuff! This restaurant is literally located in the old stables — remodeled to look rustic and charming — on the Biltmore Estate grounds. You can choose from the fast food cart outside serving hotdogs(no thanks) or opt for this place. I was slightly concerned since this was literally the only major restaurant here and it was on the grounds. For a «tourist» spot on the estate grounds, the restaurant surprised me with it’s impeccably detailed and friendly waiters, delicious local/seasonal menu options and fantastic service! Out of 8 of us, nobody had a mediocre meal, and everything was way above par! Man, was I happy I insisted on eating here. My brother in law however, enjoyed the hot dog cart outside. ;)

Got a package that included a free lunch for me and the wife, so after our early tour we came to have lunch. Wait wasn’t too long, 25 mins tops, Waiter was great, very attentive and always checking on us. We ordered the Rotisserie Chicken, and Bison Estate Burger, which were phenomenal. I’m a fan, burger that a Sriracha Ketchup mix which brought it over the top. I think we will try all other restaurants next time we go back!
