Wow what a uncomfortable unpleasant experience, it has a nice environment If you can get past the meth head waitress who decides not to write your order down and tried to do it on memory Then everything comes messed up. OK I’m not that picky Vinator so I’ll just eat whatever she decide to put in the system and bring me. My eggs are uncooked you can get sick with that kind of stuff it’s called salmonella poisoning. The food is absolutely horrible and undercooked no taste. They have nice wooden floors and they got good rocking chairs outside but if your hungry I don’t recommend coming here. Lol

I have always loved Cracker Barrell for consistent, delicious home cooking. However, in late March of 2016, my husband and I took our two tear old granddaughter. Our granddaughter is verrrry predictable! We know she is lover and eater of Mac and cheese… and eats her weight in buttermilk biscuits! I ordered a vegetable plate. The fried okra was with no doubt from frozen… the corn was from an institution can and unseasoned. Our granddaughter would not eat the rubbery Mac and cheese. She took one bite of a biscuit, and put it down… not to reach for it again. She ate part of a corn muffin, which she had never had before. My husband’s fried chicken plate was equally disappointing! I can’t say how much I hated having this experience. It certainly makes me hesitant to ever eat at a Cracker Barrell again. I dare say that the pressure to keep prices down, and yet turn a profit… has the restaurant selling out and sacrificing the quality of food. This is the first time I have ever written a review on a restaurant… shows how strongly we felt about our experience.

It wasn’t even 5 pm and they were already out of pot roast, meat loaf, and chicken n’ dumplings. Was not informed until after ordering, had to sit and watch my other friends eat their meals before I could get my replacement. Also has something funky growing in the vinegar bottles. Polite service though.

Momma’a pancake breakfast is my standby when on the road. I still can’t believe CB got rid of the cherries topping. Very slow; sat immediately Thursday 1030am. Waitress ambled by after 10 mins, then took another 10 to bring coffee. Pancakes came out without topping and had to go back. By the time they returned I was finished with the eggs and sausage. Eggs seemed poached rather than over medium – very watery. Coffee refills hard to come by. Might try the IHOP next door the next time I’m coming through Asheville this way.

Traveling late at night back from the beach stopped in here to let the kiddo get something somewhat healthy to eat that would be kinda of fast. They obviously had been slammed that day, because they were out of a bunch of stuff on the menu, including biscuits and cornbread. How do you run out of cornbread? Food was standard fare, although the waitresses seemed more concerned about cleaning up their sections and leaving then refiling drinks. Not the best Cracker barrel experience.

This was a nice little Cracker Barrel. The food was good, the service was good. It is hard for me to give Cracker Barrel anything more than a 3 star rating. They are great at what they do – offer comfort food at a reasonable cost that is consistent from store to store.

Great food, excellent price! My hubby loves the meatloaf but they seem to run short on that sometimes. As far as to go orders, why can the person who answers the phone not take my order? For family outings, this is a favorite. Laughed at other reviews that say the retail part of the store was high pressure. There is a gray haired lady who is sweet and helpful. If she is high pressure then you must be from some place scary like NY!

About a week ago my family and I went to this Cracker Barrel for breakfast/lunch. As my son and I were walking towards the restaurant, a senior citizen parked in a handicapped area asked me if I could call someone from the establishment to help him set up his wheelchair out of his car but told him I would be more than glad to help him. The gentleman was missing a leg and couldn’t do it all on his own. It seemed like someone had already told a manager about his situation, the manager came out as I was setting up the wheelchair for him. When he approached us he said«I cannot help you, its a liability» and rushed back in the restaurant leaving us in the parking lot. I put the chair together, helped him sit on it and took him inside. He thanked me and wished me a happy new year. As we sat down the words of the manager kept playing over and over in my head… So after much debate I got the attention of another manager and explained what happened. I told him management should be a little more sensitive with handicapped senior citizens, Let alone this man was not only a senior citizen but a United States Air Force Veteran, he had a patch in the back of his wheelchair. I asked how can a manager say that to someone who just wanted help getting the chair out of his car… For God sakes he deserved a little more respect from a douche bag who just wanted to say something and go back to his business. That business thrives on individuals like him to pay for his salary. After telling the other manager this he said he would bring up the incident with their corporate office to discuss further. At no point did anyone go up to him and expressed some sort of remorse for what had happened. Even as the gentleman was given a table, no one bothered to take a chair out so he could easily move his chair in. The man sat alone, Ate his meal and as my waitress approached is I told her we would be paying for his food. A handicapped senior citizen shouldn’t be treated this way, let alone an Air Force veteran.

I’m a fan of Cracker Barrel, but this one fell short in a few regards. I’m not talking about it being crowded and having a significant wait for a table as this is to be expected around the holidays. But the food just wasn’t as good as it usually is at some other CBs. I ordered food to go twice(consecutive evenings around 5:45 pm). Both times I was told it would only be about 7 minutes until my order would be ready… in both cases it was more like 30 minutes. The first night there was no excuse and the food was cold when I opened it about 5 minutes after getting it. The second night, after my first 7 minutes, the service person said they were out of meatloaf and it would be an hour before they had any. So, I switched to country fried steak. Another wait and the veggies were warm but the meat wasn’t and the gravy on top was cold. Biscuits were great both days, as were the fried applies. Overall, not a bad choice if you’re not in a hurry. If we could give half stars, I’d give it 2.5, but I just can’t make it to 3.

This place has great food & a great staff. However, I am disappointed by being totally pushed into buying something upon entering and exiting the store. It’s honestly worse than going to a car lot or furniture store. I stepped one foot in the door and was told about all the merchandise which was on sale and told I needed to take a look at it before I left. Then after our meal I went to pay the bill and cashier tried to hard sell me into purchasing chocolates & candy at the counter. I said no thank you & then was asked of I looked at any of the on sale merchandise. I said no thanks. It is awkward and BIG turn off. I like Cracker Barrell but I’m not going to even LOOK around in their store until they stop their high pressure sales antics!!!

This place is just like any other Cracker Barrel, but I really enjoyed this place. The food was excellent(I had the trout with Mac and cheese, green beans, and fried apples). The service was great and the bill was pleasantly small, $ 59 for a table of 6.

We got here Sunday morning and the parking lot was PACKED. I ran in to find out the wait time… 15 mins for 2 not too bad. I ordered the meal with biscuits and gravy because SO convinced me that dipping biscuits into gravy was yummy. umm NEGATIVE. I ordered my eggs over hard and when i cut into the yolk, juice oozed out. I almost threw up. I do not like runny yolks or seeing any type of liquid in my eggs. The waitress stopped by i guess when she saw the look of horror on my face. She quickly apologized and took the eggs back and the MANAGER brought my over hard eggs and apologized profusely. I said no biggie and dug in. I was just happy to have my eggs back. The grits were yummy, apple butter even yummier. We got up to pay but not before i took a small bottle of the pancake syrup. I er collect them and have some in my office and at home. o0 While standing in line, the manager said he would take off the eggs because i was so sweet *preens*(SO disagrees but i call bullshit). Ive eaten at many Cracker Barrels across the country and i had the best service and experience here.

Met a friend for dinner here last night. I’ve been to Cracker Barrel hundreds of times, and wherever you go it’s pretty consistent. I would have given them five stars but the service, even though the place wasn’t that busy, was just a touch on the slow side. Friendly, but slow.

We had an above average visit to this Cracker Barrell this evening. I ordered the shrimp po boy. It was very good, better than I expected. Also tried the pineapple upside down cake. It was delivered to our table quickly and was hot and tasty. Service was great too!

If you like Cracker Barrel you’ll like this one. The country store is the same as everywhere else and the food is okay. No surprises here. We’ve been here a handful of times, including a couple of memorable(and enjoyable) Thanksgiving time meals. We had a good time.

I noticed all the reviews were from people that aren’t from here. So, you come all the way across the country to visit Asheville, only to eat at Cracker Barrel? What the hell is wrong with you people?! That’s right, ignore our downtown area and keep driving on I-40. You didn’t miss anything good here.

I know it’s a large chain;(557 stores according to Wikipedia). But, it’s such a great place to grab a cheap meal. Though a staple of the South, they have restaurants in most states, including the northeast(NY, NJ, CT…) & the Norhwest(Boise) I don’t have one in my town, but visited here last week. It was a cold morning, with a bit of snow & ice still in the parking lot. But, inside was warm and friendly. Our waitress was extremely pleasant, and we couldn’t have had more food for the money anywhere else. I can’t remember what it’s called, but my wife & I each had a breakfast meal for $ 5.99. We stuffed ourselves and skipped lunch because it was so huge! Eggs, bacon, biscuits, hash browns. All delicious. It’s the perfect place to start the day. I CANNEVERLEAVELESSTHANTWOINTHEPEGGAME.

The food here IS great. The prices are absolutely amazing. You can completely stuff your face for only $ 6 or $ 7 or have a normal sized meal for $ 3 or $ 4. Their biscuits are the best things you’ll ever have and they come with the best preserves. They are soft and hot and perfect. For breakfast, the sunrise sampler for instance is only $ 7 and you will get 2 eggs cooked to order, 2 biscuits, gravy, grits, hashbrown casserole(unbelievable), fried apples, a slice of thick delicious ham, a patty of american sausage, and a thick and crispy bacon. All of that for $ 7! Amazing! Their pancakes are delicious, soft, and sweet. If you’re not too hungry, you can have just cereal with fruit on it. For lunch/dinner, you’re looking at some of the best comfort food known to man. Their chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes is amazing, their chicken n dumplings are amazing, the fried steak, the hamburgers, the vegetables, the corn, it’ll all make your mouth water. The gift store is a great place to kill time if the restaurant is packed and you have to wait, which only happens during typical peak hours.

Stanley’s in Chicago has nothing on Cracker Barrel. Best catfish I’ve ever had at a restaurant(you can even get it grilled!).
