tiny stall in a corner of a mall. extremely limited selection, not very friendly staff person, some of the produce far from fresh. paid $ 9 for little more than a handful of greens and a small crate of cherry tomatoes, only to discover squishy moldy tomatoes in the middle. just passing through town but wouldn’t go back if i lived here.

Often, people who want to shop fresh and local at farmers’ markets can’t — they’re only one day a week, or they’re on the other side of town. Fresh Quarter provides an alternative. Their product is always fresh, and when it’s waning, it’s on sale. Their service focuses on the environment and the customer. They offer veggie and fruit baskets for a monthly or weekly grocery plan. They’re located in the Grove Arcade, within walking distance of anywhere downtown. The Grove Arcade has many 15-minute parking spaces, so if you just need a handful of groceries, it’s a swift trip. Be warned: after using this hidden oasis, grocery veggies and fruits will only disappoint.
