Being a big Jersey Mike’s fan, having a sub from one of the Asheville locations at least weekly. Often feeding my entire family once night a week has been a tradition. The closest Jersey Mike’s to our home in Weaverville is the location on Merrimon Avenue. I have to admit, the quality of our experience has dramatically decreased. I went in this afternoon around 2pm. I was the only customer in the store at the moment. I ordered a #11 and the young lady(admittedly«a new girl») slicing meat didn’t know what that was. After explaining the ingredients she began preparing my sandwich and I asked if they had potato salad today. She said she didn’t know they served potato salad. I explained that it was awesome and how much we loved it. She turned to another male employee who could have used some training on hygiene and asked him about the potato salad. He then began to argue with me that they didn’t serve potato salad and scoffed. This turned in to a full blown Nancy Drew mystery up in Jersey Mike’s as the male employee then asked the«manager»(a term I am using loosely) about the potato salad. His response was«yeah, the date was out on it so we threw it away.» I asked if they’d be getting more… He said«Nah, we don’t serve it in the winter.» — I replied«Is it winter?»(seeing how it’s 88 degrees outside today). And he said«yeah sorta.» Meanwhile the young lady is stillllll making my #11 and the argumentative male employee is stocking potato chips slowly and deliberately clogging up the aisle where customers walk through. Another patron walks in and orders a heated sub. The young lady assisting me told him he’d have to wait until the male staff finished stocking chips to get something that requires them heating up chicken. Meanwhile the manager is seemingly taking out trash and never offers to help the new girl. The guy stocking chips just continues placing bags of potato chips one by one, slowly, on the rack, also never offering to assist the new girl. By the time she finished making my #11 the patron waiting on the hot sub was still just standing there… waiting. No sense of urgency whatsoever. When I paid and left they still had not started on the other customers sandwich yet. My sandwich was sloppily made but that it the least of my worries understanding she is new and still learning. But this location has bigger issues at hand. Are they trained? Is this a corporate level of training? Is their a protocol for hygiene? Why is there no sense of urgency? Are the staff taught about teamwork? And are they trained on customer service? Such very important issues when dealing with the public. I should have driven over the River Hills Drive location where we always receive the most professional and courteous service with quality made subs.

Realized today that I’ve taken the quality of this location for granted. Absolutely fast and fantastic! The workers(including the manager) are often slicing meat for 4 – 5 subs at a time, have already asked for the next few customer’s orders, and still have time for small talk with regular customers. Point of comparison: we tried the Tunnel Road location today, and they took forever to make our sandwiches, along with some questionable sanitary practices(wiping down the sandwich prep area with a visibly dirty rag, versus a bench scraper). If you want a Mike’s Way sub, this location really is as good as it gets!

…not impressed. They have very small amounts of meat and cheese on their classic turkey I can hardly taste it. Considering that, its way over priced I feel. I probably won’t go back again. I’ve tried this place 5 – 6 times I’m done. Go to Old School Subs.

This is a typical JM’s; cheerful crew, good food, and a bit pricey. Our«regular» subs were $ 7.40 each, which is more than the ones in Chicago charge for the same item.

Ordered 2 Italian subs @ the River Hills location. Delicious & makes Subway look sick. Very generous, too. Friendly & accomidating.

I visited your establishment about a week and a half ago. I ordered a 16″ steak and cheese sub which cost well over $ 12. I have not been to a Jersey Mike’s in some years. As I began to eat the sub I kept getting very chewy gristle in almost every bite. It happened so often that I began to wonder if the next bite would be bad like the one before it and sure enough it was. I bet your food cost on that $ 12+ sub is less than $ 2. I will not be back. I was RIPPEDOFF. GAG.

Please don’t pay any attention to the review with bad grammar. Jersey Mike’s on Merrimon is a quality place that offers friendly service, a clean environment, and above average subs. One of the better Jersey Mike’s I’ve been to.

Are you kidding me. Really? Small turkey sub, chips and a water for 8.60. The food is ok at best. How do they justify these prices. This place offers nothing but convince. I won’t return.
