So I’ll begin wth the first question I thought walking into this establishment…“where are your parents???” We walk in to three kids playing on their phones(who were apparently our cooks and cashier) So me and my other half come in and are reviewing the menu… we go to order two lunch combos and are told that it’s past the time that lunch ends at 3… we asked what time it was and he told us it was 3:02 no matter we will still give them the benefit of the doubt… Then after waiting they bring out my kung Pao chicken and inform my other that instead of his shrimp dish he ordered they made it with chicken and asked if that was ok? Knowing it wasn’t but he was on his lunch break from work we accepted it… food wasn’t terrible… the pork fried rice had a strange taste to it… needless to say I won’t be coming back.

Where to start with how terrible this place is. The staff was all children, literally. There were three children at the register taking orders, the oldest of which was 14 at the oldest. I had to tell my order, bourbon chicken with fried rice and a coke, 4 times. Then I had to go back up 3 times to pay and sign the receipt because they kept messing up. They gave me a can of coke and it had black stuff all over the lid. They said they spilled tea on all the cans. After a long wait I finally got my food and it was terrible. The only good thing was that it was hot. While me and my friend ate our food at the dirty tables, the children running the restaurant began fighting about homework. They were yelling loudly at each other which eventually just became comical. Between the food and the atmosphere, I feel that I should’ve been paid to be there. Completely terrible in every way.

Metro is my go-to when I’m craving Chinese food, but really don’t want to leave my home. I almost always order the Genetal Tso’s tofu and I have never been disappointed! It can seem pricey, but the portion is huge. Long story short, Metro is my favorite place for Chinese take-out/delivery in Asheville!

Stopped delivering Chinese food at 9pm on a Saturday… which we all know is usually when we want the stuff. Folks are rude and act bothered to have to answer the phone

Don’t bother, order was wrong and cold. When I called back to ask about our missing items the lady took down my phone number and told me the manager would call me. I’m still waiting for that call.

Decent food, but delivery time is kinda ridiculous, especially considering how close we are to the restaurant. The worst part is they are CONSISTENTLY out of sweet and sour chicken. On several occasions I’ve placed my order and they didn’t tell me til 30 minutes later that they were out of sweet and sour chicken.

I didn’t think to ask whether or not they use MSG in their dishes, but from the intense headache we all got that night and the stomach upset the next day, I think it’s a safe assumption that they do. If that weren’t bad enough, the moo shu was served with, essentially, flour tortillas, and we only got one small portion of sauce. To top it off, the food just doesn’t taste all that great. Never again.

I have to say that the food here is not up to par. I always give restaurants at least 2 chances and this one unfortunately didn’t make the cut. I’m surprised with all the great food in Asheville that I have yet to find a great Chinese one. Also, I would prefer to be greeted and order with an adult or owner, your children should not be running the front of house with the stoned delivery boy.

We ate at an off hour and were the only ones there beside the family. A 12 yr old took our order and the 10 yr of took our bill. Never once did they check on us. Veggies were fresh, dishes were a bit sweet for my taste. Decent portions very reasonable prices. Seems more of a take out place. Egg roll was not well cooked… mushy and undercooked

My wife pegged this. Hot and sour soup was not«hot» or «sour». Dumplings were average to below. Twice cooked… fried…duck was rubbery and did not taste like duck at all. Could have been fried meat of any kind. The veggies that came with it were good… no problems there. I wanted so much to like this place but nope. Next Chinese place. I am still looking. The family that runs this is so nice. I wanted to like it… really…wanted to… wanted to… wanted to…

The food was too sweet, under spiced and had a really musty taste. We tried three entrees: General Tsos Chicken, Pork Fried Rice and Green Beans. Unmemorable at best, slightly off at worst. Tried a couple of appetizers too. The spring rolls had almost nothing inside, they were more like fried sticks. The Crab Rangoon tasted mostly of wonton and was served with a fluorescent red sweet sauce — almost flavorless besides the sweet. They did have really good chinese mustard(not the usual pre-packaged stuff), and the hot and sour soup was tolerable. Derek is right –Asheville take-out Chinese food is pretty hit or miss. Though we may have tried out Metro on a «miss», we won’t be trying it again.

Had to edit my very positive review… this place was good when it first opened, but I just had a bad experience there and the food wasn’t that great. I wanted this place to be my go-to Chinese restaurant but it hasn’t been worthy the last two times. The owners and employees are nice, but I have to judge it on the food as well…
