Callahan’s Mountain Lodge

Great place but be careful when booking that a king room can sleep up to six people. They have only three roll away beds. they were all used when we got there so we ended up three to king bed.

Do not stay here. The owners are ridiculous. The suite was nice but overall the staff was terrible. The shampoo was really nice and we wanted extra. Our floor was being cleaned so instead of calling the front desk I just decided to take some off the cart. As we were leaving, a woman stopped us in the hallway and made a scene. She was incredibly rude and accused us of trying to steal her 50 cent shampoo/​conditioner. So unprofessional. It’s literally just shampoo and conditioner? We gave it back. Side note: the food was not very good and the waiter/​waitresses were not helpful. The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because of the mattress.

I recently contacted Donna at Callahan’s restaurant to arrange a luncheon following a funeral. Donna was delightful, compassionate and accommodating. The setting was lovely. Donna arranged for a menu of 4 selections, accommodating our diverse family of 20. Callahan’s provided vegetarian, celiac and diabetic diets, meeting the needs of all. After planning the luncheon, my daughter decided to come to the funeral, postponing the birthday party of her 5 year old. When notified, Donna immediately arranged for a small birthday celebration to follow the luncheon. Our server and the bar tender provided exceptional service. It was the perfect place to usher out «old life» and celebrate «young life».

Just a wonderful place! You won’t be disappointed! The people are very friendly and it’s so relaxing here. I am hiking the PCT and this location is close to the trail. But, this is one place I’d love to come back to and revisit. It’s just beautiful! Thank you all for making my stay so wonderful!

Just spent four days at Callahan’s Mountain Lodge. We were underwhelmed. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but our experience was average at best. The room was average, the food was average, the service was below average. While we’re sure to make the trek to Ashland again to see some plays, I suspect we’ll try a different hotel next time.

We went here to eat dinner yesterday. Service was super slow. The waitress never brought my kid’s drinks and they have the nerve to put it on the bill. The kids Alfredo was just bunch of angel hair pasta it was so disgusting my daughter refused to eat it. We will never come back to eat here. BTW this is a pricy restaurant average cost for a meal is $ 19, you might think the food and service is good, but NOT! My husband also want to mention our waitress Erin was a snub and seem disinterested in her job.
The lodge however, was a good experience. Spacious rooms, but you could hear the frogs at night which can be quite loud. They are pet friendly. Clean rooms, comfy bed. Will stay at the lodge, but will not eat at their restaurant.

We had a great time over the holidays at the lodge. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Everyone is super friendyl and accommodating. We had a rather large group and only planned on staying 1 night. After having such a wonderful experience we added an extra day to the vacation. Thank you Callahans!

By far the best place to stay in southern Oregon. Great food, good prices and the rooms are very well appointed, filled with everything you would need.

My family has been enjoying our Easter brunch buffet at Callahans since 2002… and we like it so much we go back every year! It’s somewhat pricey but well worth every penny spent… Easter brunch in a beautiful setting… who could ask for more?! Make sure you make reservations early.

A truly fantastic retreat. This historic location has been really improved with the new ownership. It was always a nice stop, but now it is really not to be missed. From the time we opened the door to smell the rustic fireplace and restaurant, to the luxurious room with in-​room Jacuzzi, we felt at home and pampered.
For dinner: Since we are smaller portion diners, we split the porterhouse, with twice baked, which were both excellent. A couple of their signature cocktails (Emerald Bay and Wild whiskey sour) which seemed a bit of a high price point, but as with many of their offerings totally over delivered. Started with a better than average Caesar salad. Good, but not over bearing service.
Breakfast was another high point. A nice fruit bowl and coffee to start. Can’t expect too much from the fruit this time of year, but the coffee was notably good. A typical Benedict (with just the right too much butter on both the hollandaise and the muffins) you know, pleasantly soaked. Opposite an Alpine omelette, which was just too good. I need to figure out how they get my eggs that fluffy.
Maybe I should have started with this, but we had an issue with our reservation that had me a little agitated before we arrived. What I can say is that they could NOT have handled it any better. They went over and above to make us satisfied, even sheepish for having crowed. It goes with one of my observations that it is easy to be great when things go well, but true greatness shows in how you deal with a failure. In business, we all have training issues, human mistakes and personal difficulties. But when you can excel in the face of those, that is what makes for a great experience for everyone.
Drive up the hill, and enjoy a gem of southern Oregon. You won’t regret.

Highly, highly recommend — this is our favorite place to stop along the I-​5 corridor for food, drink, and lodging. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!
Cozy and quaint atmosphere. Great food, with vegan options, wahoo! The accomodations are fabulous for overnight. We stop here often and it always feels like home.
We met Ken Hart, who was singing in the restaurant/​lounge — what a sweet soul and singer… buy his CD is you stop here… soulful!
He lingered after closing for a few minutes and came to our table, and played us a song that melted our hearts. We look forward to returning and joining Ken in song again. He made our night! Thank you, Ken.
Our room, the Sugar Pine, was just sumptuous, with stone fireplace, fire laid out and ready to light. The bed was great, towels so thick and luscious! We did not get to meet the housekeeping staff, but our gratitude — the room was awesome! WOW.
Jessica served us breakfast, and we just love her gentle sweetness… she has served us lunch a few times on past trips and is always just the best. Her smile lights up the room! Brent, was her perfect assistant. Thank you to the chef and kitchen staff — your food is always excellent.
All the staff here, from Quinn and Alex at the front desk to Matthew, our fellow-​Seattlite bartender, Jessica, Brent and Ken, are the BEST!!! This is like family now.

My sister and brother in law and I ate there for Thanksgiving Dinner. They had a turkey dinner, and my brother in law had prime rib. We had a reservation at 7PM and were plenty early. Never got to our table until 7:20PM, understand this they were very busy. Well once seated the waitress never did show up. Finally my brother in law had to go ask for help. Anyway someone did come take our order, then a lady came over and apologized for forgetting about us. So now the dinners come first we had soup it was hot which was good. But my sister’s turkey dinner and mine were awful. There was barely any gravy on the mashed potatoes and turkey, the carrots were cold. The prime rib was supposed to be medium and was rare an awful cut of prime rib. They did discount one meal for $ 32.00.
But will never eat there again. Last time I ate there was 25 years ago when we lived in Happy Camp and it was great!

I made reservations for my fiancé and I for Friday night. Over the phone the employee made it sound like it was going to be packed. When we got there, there wasn’t many people in there. The live singing guitar player was good. Service was mediocre. We each ordered a rib eye medium. The steak had good flavor but the quality was on par with Denny’s. Not recommended for the price. You are better off at sizzler.

While they officially open at 8 AM, I arrived early and was seated promptly at 7:50 AM with smiling, fast service. The deck looked like a wonderful place to sit for lunch or dinner.
I had the Siskyou Smoked Salmon with Hollandaise Sauce. It was excellent. The breakfast started with fresh fruit and a slice of sugar dusted banana bread. The main breakfast course was a very good quantity, cooked and plated very well. The taste was excellent.

What a beautiful, outdoor brunch/​lunch experience! The outdoor patio overlooks an amazing wall of evergreens to the left. Hummingbird feeders along the railings attract some beautiful birds. The breakfast crepes were very acceptable. I loved the added fruit cup, too. They have quite a selection of mimosas, and I highly recommend the Very Berry. I gave this a 5-​star rating based on the wonderful outdoor ambiance and the food. If just rating the brunch food, I’d probably give it a 4-​star. We’ll be back!

Love this place! We had such a wonderful time. Bill and I went for our 2^nd Anniversary just a few days ago. The weather was great, our room was so romantic and comfy. I can see why couple want to be married here. The staff was so friendly and everything was very clean and tidy. At dinner Ken, the musician of the evening played two of our wedding songs, what a special moment. He is very talented. I would recommend Callahan’s for a weekend, brunch or lunch its only 18 minutes from Ashland. Also they recently added some gluten free options for my Celiac and wheat free friends. Make sure to ask about the gluten free menu.

This is so much more than a B&B. The restaurant serves a great choice for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The patio has views and setting to enhance any meal. Inside, the traditional lodge setting makes for a wonderful meal as well. There is also a full bar for those so inclined. I’d like to see this rated not as a B&B but as a stand alone restaurant as well.

Mostly a very good experience. Check in was a little rough with the young woman working the counter. She gave us an unclean basement room. The fix was acceptable. Dinner was lovely on the deck with a very cultured and knowledgable waitress who also bartended almost as good. Truly a sweet person.
I love that this is the 1^st PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) stopover point in Oregon and has both class and ruggedness in one package.

What a beautiful property! :-) The staff is so awesome! We got a wonderful room on the third floor with a fireplace and jacuzzi! :-) Loved the view from our balcony. Enjoyed playing horseshoes and dinner was simply fabulous! :-) Perfect place to stay after hiking Mt. Ashalnd! :-)

We love this place so much we planned our trip so we could spend the night there.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves great meals.
We plan to stop again on our next trip.
