Don’t even think of booking this vacation rental unless you like to use other past guests personal soap and use their dirty glasses and dishes. the place REEKS of pet urine– there were used almost empty shampoo bottles in the showers and Old funky towels from my mothers era!!! If you like funky, smelly, dirty living quarters, this is the place! We never got our deposit back either — the owner — Aletha– is a whack job! this place gives ALL vacation rental places a bad reputation. They need to get out of the business. I hope you save your money and I hope future guests read this, I wish I was armed with this info!!!

This place is great! The skylight in the master bedroom has a remote control windowshade. There’s a portrait of Stephen Colbert on the wall. Free wi-fi. There’s a hot tub. There’s a hammock. It’s also a great value — maybe I’m just too used to the overpriced rental cabins in Tahoe, but this place was an amazing value for the money. Downstairs was a living room with generously-sized couches(pretty comfortable for sleeping), a HUGE tv, and furnishings that were in much better condition than any other rental house I’ve stayed at. Upstairs there were two beds — one in a normal room, and one in a large alcove/study area that is open to the house, but feels relatively private. It is true that you(or someone outside) can peek into both bathrooms, even when not really trying. However, there are creative ways you can cover up — in the upstairs bathroom, sit down and enjoy the jacuzzi tub rather than taking a shower. In the downstairs bathroom, drape a towel over the crack between the side of the shade and the solid part of the door. I would definitely come back here.

Some friends and I stayed here for a weekend while visiting Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. It’s a great place to stay — very well kept, great facilities(big screen TV, free wireless internet, very well-maintained kitchen, hot tub and a lot more) all in a very peaceful, serene location. Also, at least when we were there in early September, it was much cooler and more comfortable than Ashland itself during the middle of the day. 4 stars instead of 5 because of a few minor things: it’s better if you have a bit of voyeur in you because the upstairs shower has a window to the outdoors with no frosting and the downstairs bathroom/laundry is really hard to lock and has windows that are hard to fully cover. Also, it’s hard to open some doors quietly at night because they have very thick carpets without enough space under the doors for them. FYI, Unilocal seems to have some problems geo-locating the address — click on the«view larger map» link for the Google Maps version which is close enough that you can find it(though a few hundred feet to far east)
