Wow, this reminds me of the old Chuck’s grocery stores of yesteryear. We went in because we’d heard that they’re one of the few markets around with an actual butcher on site. Sure enough, they have a sign that states they’ll cut your meat to your desired thickness, and they did, with a smile. We also snagged a thick Virginia ham slice, along with some beautiful thick-sliced bacon. Friendly staff is always a plus, and I loved the quaint displays scattered throughout the store. We will absolutely be picking

Four stars to a little local grocery store that’s been in business for 100 years. Wish I knew a little more about it. We walked across the train tracks after lunch at Ironhorse to check it out after seeing the quaint hand-painted«specials» signs. We wandered around checking out some slightly dusty antique bottle and tool displays, family photos and the isles filled with a variety of foods and misc items. Fun little glimpse of the old days. Even some odd items you wonder if they have regular buyers for in order to keep the inventory fresh, for example Smoked Hog Jowl sliced. If you didn’t know where to get some of those, now you do! I added them to the Unilocal map and they’ve been around 100 years! Check them out!
