I stopped here for lunch with mom based on the other Unilocal reviews. There surely isn’t much to choose from in the Ashland area as far as food goes. Typically we end up at the Buehler’s grocery store restaurant when we’re visiting. I did a quick Unilocal search and found Kelly’s. Everyone is right, it is dated and kind of dumpy looking. What I did note was that the tables were clean and the service was timely. The menu is typical diner menu and pretty comprehensive. The waitress recommended a couple of items and I was happy to give them a try. I ordered the a Reuben. It was on the greasy side and the meat was chewier than I would have liked, but over all the flavors were good and I managed to clean my plate. I’d be happy to return back to Kelly’s and give some breakfast a try. Mom was happy with her selections and I think she was happy with the inexpensive prices too. Stop at Kelly’s the next time you’re in town and give it a try.

Good local place to grab a quick bite. Colleague and I ate here for lunch before meeting at the university. We both had a sandwich and commented on the good quality of the deli meat. Fries are quite tasty too.

Don’t let the dated décor deter you from eating here. Breakfast was a great value & service was friendly & quick. Prices were good & place was clean even though it seemed tired & in need of some cosmetic attention.

Very comfortable hometown restaurant with friendly people to make a pleasant meal for you. NOTVEGETARIANFRIENDLY. Only item for non-meat people is the spinach and pea salad, if you specify no bacon. It was satisfying although it comes with a hard-boiled egg and topped with cheese, with a plastic packet of dressing.

Do not take my two stars to mean I would not dine here again or that the service is bad. The service is friendly and prompt. This place just reminds me of the kind of place my grandparents would have taken me as a kid. I have eaten here many times for lunch as it is within walking distance of my work and I have also eaten here for breakfast. The food is mediocre and that’s just reality. It’s something to put in your belly. But the great part is the price! It is SO cheap to eat here you really can’t beat the value it’s probably the best value in town. But I guess it’s true you get what you pay for, well at least in this case that’s the truth.

A GREAT Mom & Pop place. Down to earth, home cooked meals. The little-mini potato cakes are AWESOME!

Met my friend halfway for breakfast on a Sunday. Would absolutely return! First, we were struggling to find a place in Ashland that was open on a Sunday. Kelly’s Deli looked like a perfect option, and it had breakfast! Little did I know how cute the place was, or how inexpensive! The décor was movie posters from a time past, the food was anywhere from $ 1-$ 5, I’d say. I paid for both my friend’s and my breakfast and it was $ 10; wow! Not bad at all. The food was good, too. Nice greasy spoon diner food. I didn’t feel unwelcome as an out-of-towner/non-local, which I really appreciated. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. If I have to meet halfway with some friends from Cleveland, I’ll definitely be suggesting Kelly’s in the future!

Relatively basic diner food well executed. Mostly regulars, I was an out of towner and very pleased and comfortable. Inexpensive! Sandwich and soup plus a side salad at lunch for $ 7.25. Kid friendly. Staff friendly and moving fast. Will return.

Good food, great people. Also very affordable. Stay away from the coleslaw but fried chicken, hot roast beef sandwich and chocolate pie were all delicious.

A solid local diner with cheap eats and tons of regulars. Portions are large and food tasty, what more old you ask for?!

I love Kelly’s. If you ever want a roast beef sandwich absolutely drowned in gravy, or crispy honey fried chicken, come here. Don’t forget about the best side salads in the world– we think it’s the gloppy Italian dressing that makes it so ridiculously good. If this review sounds sarcastic, it’s not. Sometimes you need to give in to a desire for comfort food, and Kelly’s is the place to go. The waitresses are always friendly and I always genuinely look forward to coming here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The movie posters add a charming touch of character. You aren’t going to feel healthy after you leave, but that’s okay. Kelly’s is a gem.

You don’t go to Kelly’s for upscale entertainment and dining. You go to Kelly’s because it’s been a local part of the bedrock for decades, has cheesy, ancient movie posters from the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s adorning the walls, has the cheapest breakfast around, serves ridiculously massive salads that I salivate just thinking about, and has an honest, pleasantly gruff serving staff that’s there because they’ve enjoyed serving the same folks(with occasional newcomers) for ages. My wife hates it because it used to feature cigarette smoke as an additive with any dish you ordered, and she can’t quite get over that impression. I, on the other hand, always take the opportunity to, when friends ask where I want to eat, say«Let’s do Kelly’s.»

This is a simple neighborhood diner /deli that is a very good value. Giant salads are featured. The décor ain’t much, but the food is fine.
