Oberon’s is a great looking place! The waiter was very friendly and the ambiance was very tasteful. I wish I could say the same for the food :(I ordered the hummus plate and what I got was something other than described on the menu. I’m not sure if they have updated their menu lately but the food was low quality and didn’t match the description. The food came out cold; as my friend ordered soup and was very tasteless. I will not be coming here again :(so disappointed

Oberon’s is truly one of the most unique and special bars I’ve ever been to — and as an Irishman — I’ve been to more than my fair share. I love the whimsical feel, an ambiance truly all its own, the fun/tasty food and drink and the always witty and entertaining staff. I’m confident if Shakespeare lived in Southern Oregon you would find him at the bar every night drunkenly spouting lines from his latest work. This place and its staff have more personality than any spot I’ve been to in a very long time. If you’re a non-Oregonian like me and passing through Ashland, Oberon’s is a must-visit! It’s a given they’ll have a mead, cider or beer to your liking.

Hobbits unite! My husband and I had dinner in this little pub while visiting for a weekend. We went in about 6:15 and it was pretty dead, only a couple of tables filled.(They don’t have many tables anyway.) The bartender/server greeted us right away and told us to sit where we’d like. I ordered a plum cider to drink, my husband ordered an imperial red. Both were delish. Order the viking; it’s a much better value than ordering two beers each. To eat, I ordered the shepherds pie, which was hot and yummy. My husband ate like a king with his whole turkey leg. He loved it! It took a while for our food — 40+ minutes but the bartender/server let us know that when ordering as they cook everything to order. It was worth the wait. Just don’t go here hangry. Our tab was about $ 50 after tip but it was a delish dinner. I also learned about Ashland’s 5% food tax on prepared foods. It’s the only food tax in Oregon. When we left about 7:45 it still wasn’t that busy, but people had come and gone.

Another night of amazing brews and munches. Our server was incredible and hilariously charming. Dressed pretty darn snazzily(it’s a word), too. Recommended California Cider Co’s ACE Pineapple Cider(which actually wasn’t too pretentious for a CA cider). I sucked that puppy down with their Ashlandia Hemp Burger. Subbed out the fries for broccoli, because why not! The hemp patty wasn’t house made(store-bought frozen), but it was delicious all the same and well composed as a burger. Truly great flavors here and portions are legit! The brother got a Smoked Turkey Pie along with some IPA, and there wasn’t a crumb left on his plate or a drop left in his glass. Solid times at Oberon’s once again! And we also finally got a table in the back with elbow room! The music during the meal was, as per usual whenever we go, pretty horrible. But in an endearing way. I think I’m going to get married at Oberon’s. And maybe even birth my children here.

I have been wanting to try this place for, like… three years. Finally came here with my boyfriend and our roommate. We were supposed to go to some comedy night gig at The Brickroom, but since there was a line just to get in, we decided to come here and hang out. I’m glad we did. Oberon’s has a really cool environment. It gets really cramped, though. But I don’t mind that so much. They almost always have live music right at the front, which I think is super fun. There was a local band(can’t remember the name… I know I wrote it down somewhere…) and they played a pretty decent version of «Smooth» by Santana. Didn’t do beer or other alcohol, but I’m sure they have the general selection of hipster style IPAs and blondes and what have you. Their food, though… excellent. My roommate got their grilled apple and bacon sandwich(didn’t get to try it but it sounded bomb) he said it was pretty great. Me and my boyfriend shared their lamb pie(basically a Shepherds pie but with lamb) it was so delicious. We scarfed that down pretty quick. It is a bit pricey though. A little more than 12 $ just for the pie which wasn’t too big, but enough to fill both of us that night because we weren’t too hungry anyway. They also have a little room in the back where it’s less cramped, and they have board games! Mostly different versions of monopoly, but still. There is also a TV with an N-64. Pretty cool. Definitely would want to have a game night here with some friends. Great place for that. Overall, great place. Will definitely come back!

*Review for bar only* Came by for an after-dinner drink on a Saturday evening after deciding that Granite and Brickroom were not quite our steze. We were served by Zeke, who provided us with excellent conversation in addition to libations. And they have tea! They don’t have an extensive draft beer list, but there were a few excellent options. The live music was alright but maybe a little too loud(maybe I am just a cantankerous old fart). Overall a good time with good drinks and good company.

All he great reviews make me wonder. May depend on why you are here. Atmosphere is cool. The staff is good. The food? Meh. Not bad, but we had pub staples that just missed the mark. Dishes that are understood and not difficult to do well. If you want to change them up that’s fine, but make them better or unique or they fall a bit flat.

Wish I could give this place 5 stars, best hazelnut beer and tasty grilled cheese sandwiches. However, absolutely WORSTBARTENDERANDWAITEREXPERIENCEEVER!!! My friends and I were completely ignored for over one hour, even after placing orders with bar staff and waiter. Waiter was rude and obnoxious, could care less about our experience. Waiter had the audacity to offer his mail address if I ‘had any complaints to write about’. I have never in my life had such terrible service! Wish I could speak to owner about his staff, my two friends and I were extremely polite and did not expect such terrible service. Wish I could give a great review, food, drinks, environment were perfect. Staff were the worst I have ever experienced in my life, such a shame.

Was excited to hit this place up but sadly it was a waste of time. We get there and they don’t open up until 4. Okay, cool. So we go check out some other stores to kill 10 minutes, come back and the doors are still locked. Guy is inside wiping glasses while we stand outside until 4:10. Finally get inside and paid $ 6 for a Crux IPA while we ordered the burger and pulled pork. 4:50 and still no food. Mind you, we’re on a long road trip and didn’t have all day but c’mon. Paid for the beer and walked out. Pompous heavyset waitress got no tip.

We really liked this extremely cute, Shakespearean/Renaissancey Bar, with colorful characters, and good live music. Very creative Decour, including tables that looked like trees growing out of the ground. Fun place to hang out!

I would give a higher star rating, but honestly, it was the serving sizes that are killing this one. The food was REALLY good, don’t get me wrong. But we were still hungry when we left. My husband and I had spent several hours shopping in Ashland, and decided to stop and have dinner before we went home. We went in, got seated and ordered, all very smoothly. We tried the two meads they had on tap(both super tasty, one dry, one sweet), and then our food came. And they servings were significantly smaller than expected. So good, but definitely not enough. I would definitely suggest that maybe they add a couple bucks and double the serving. But overall, it was very tasty.

What isn’t there to like about this place? They always have something interesting going on. The first time I was there, I watched a harp performance. The next time, there was a lady playing a hurdy gurdy. There’s always something great here! Also, they always have something interesting on tap. Pumpkin ale, apricot cider, you name it! The décor is fantastic and the servers are convivial. What’s not to like? Seriously, go here ASAP!

Awesome ambiance. Minced meat turnover was delicious. The day I went in the bar-maid had created a new drink she called the«wild shanty», light beer with raspberry and raspberry vodka. Really refreshing on a hot day!

The restaurant is small and a little tight. If you’re in a bigger group, go someplace else. Also if you’re a vegetarian or don’t eat a lot of meat, try another place. Odd little establishment but very friendly staff. They should have a little bit more in the way of veggies. However, get a kick out of the misspelling of chicken on the top of the menu; «chickin».

I LOVEOBERONSAHHHHH! Every time we are in Ashland we try to go here. The potatoes are all magical and delicious, yummy sausage, fruit and cheese, weird and tasty beverages! It’s really a must try if you are in Ashland! They also have super cool souvenirs, which you should take a look at when there. They have a game room in the back and you can play games or read when you eat it’s all wonderful and magical just go okay? TIPIFYOUARESEEING A SHOW– ASKHOWLONGTHEPLATEYOUAREGETTINGWILLTAKETOMAKE!!! We came there like 75min before doors opened for our show, which we figured was plenty of time, but my husband ordered troubadours plate(I think that’s what it’s called? The one with the Turkey leg!) which takes like 45 min to make, and we ended up having to cancel our order to make the show :(it was a sad day.

Oh you. Just seeing your name from across the plaza lit up my eyes and made my heart go flutter with promise. Once I was inside you I was taken on a wonderland trip that I never wanted to end. What a . Your food is fresh, wholesome and well made, your beers are yummy and perfectly served, and the people that occupy your adorable rooms are some of the most friendly and welcoming folks that I have ever had the pleasure of drinking with — and trust me, I have been around some«interesting» places. I cannot recommend Oberon’s highly enough. I had lunch on Wednesday and came back for karaōke on Thursday night. Which was actually fun, and if you knew me, you’d know I HATE karaōke. This is how good you are for me Oberon. The gaming consoles in back were a welcome surprise, puzzles, trivia cards and other toys on each table, and the décor is straight out of my local Ren Faire — and then some. It was like being backstage at CAT-a-pults, but better. No dirt, the drunks were polite and I was surrounded by some of the friendliest folks that live in Oregon. Thank you for existing. I will be back. On that you have my word.

Like the live music and the décor and the fact that each table has something to occupy(cards against humanity, puzzles, etc). Ordered couple of items: Darn Tasty Sausage:(w/Louisiana Hot): pretty good. spicy at it. Yon Smashed Spud: not so good, overpriced for the quantity(1). Beers: Shakespeare Stout — Rogue Brewing Co: It was okay. Night Owl Pumpkin Ale — Elysian Brewing Co: my wife had this… i think she liked it. Felt like it was a shady area… my wife wasn’t comfortable… number of cops around the area.

Oberon’s Three-Penny Tavern is located by the Plaza and has a deliberate Shakespeare Theme. My first introduction to Oberon’s was through an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign of which I made a modest pledge. I was disappointed that their goal was not achieved and that I really didn’t hear much from them either during or after the campaign. When Gayle and I returned to Ashland a few weeks ago, I made a point of looking them up. That involved stopping in after an afternoon OSF production, enjoying a few beers, and just hanging out. It’s a cool little faery kingdom inside, with a cool wooden bar, music in the evenings, and a game room in back. Wooden mugs and logo merchandise is also available. Afternoon service was a bit uneven, but we certainly enjoyed the atmosphere and just hanging out. Let’s also call this review a place marker for a future musical-enhanced evening and a few provisions to go accent the experience.

Great before-theater dinner & drink place — be prepared for a dimly lit dark cave of a pub — which is generally what I look for… :D It was so dark I couldn’t read most of their menu, but I threw a metaphorical dart and ended up with bangers, sauerkraut, slices of apple and cheese, and a yummy thick slice of bread with butter.(The bangers were excellent.) The meal was a little sparse for the price — but no so much as to feel cheated or deprived — just enough to leave a little less than satisfied. Between this small-ish plate of bits and pieces and a really outstanding Bloody Mary — I was okay for a night of Richard III. A note about the Bloody Mary — it was fairly plain by current standards — seemed to be just mixer and vodka — but it came with olives, cocktail onion, and a rim of that tasty bacon-flavored salt(at least I think that’s what it was…) — and was icy cold and perfectly balanced. Never under-estimate simple perfection. Husband got a grilled cheese sandwich — which sounds like school lunchroom fare — but was a big step above the academic norm. Everything else at our table of four — from beers to pie — was a hit. There are musicians and folks in Elizabethan and Renaissance Faire dress everywhere in this pub — though I’m not sure how much or little they have to do with the theaters. Who knows but maybe they just like to dress up to flavor the theater district atmosphere! Either way, it’s a dark and atmospheric set they’ve constructed — and an appropriately tavernish menu. A fun way to switch-on the Shakes filters and get ready for a night of theater under the stars!
