HUGE piece of advice, if you offer full waitress service, do NOT make your customers pay at the register. I want to enjoy the last of my coffee as I’m waiting for my change. Last thing I want to do is stand in line at the register. Guess where I’m headed once I pay? Out the door. Not returning a tip to the table & I’m not dropping my tip into a «community jar» on the counter. My waitress got Zero tip because of this ridiculous process. Now, the food: This place had some potential, with some good ingredients, eg: red bliss potatoes, nice cut of ham & broccoli on their eggs bene. Unfortunately the preparation was terrible. The homefries were room temp or worse, there were a few pieces that were actually Cold! How does that happen? The broccoli was obviously the frozen variety :-(and the Hollandaise sauce was so bland, could barely even notice there was any over the eggs bene. This place needs to ditch the stupid check out process & find a chef/cook that can work well with those decent ingredients.

We’re Saturday regulars and always enjoy our time spent here. Renee is the best waitress who takes great care to anticipate your needs. She makes you feel right at home. She is a treasure! The menu is extensive and consistently good. I especially enjoy the omelets and the eggs Benedicts with Portuguese muffins.

I can’t believe the reviews that say the service here is really bad. I have never had to wait for anything here. The coffee refill always comes before I even think of it, food is fast, etc. Coffee and food is always, always piping hot. Waitstaff is always pleasant and nice to me. The only thing I wish they would change is the home fries. I don’t love them and I can’t figure out why. They are either missing something or don’t have enough of something. And I feel like they are always different? Like today they were super spicy. But other times they have been bland. Other than those, almost everything on the menu is great and I have tried a lot of the items!

Sunnyside is basically a dinner, but not a very good one. They serve all the basic breakfast dishes, but they don’t use fresh ingredients and I can’t help feel I’d be better off making it myself. The coffee is terrible which was a deal breaker for me, and the service is slow, and frankly I think we would have been better off stopping by a Starbucks for breakfast.

Cute little diner! This is what it is, a diner, if you are looking for a five star dining experience look elsewhere. But, if you are looking for a cozy little place to eat some delicious diner food, check this place out. I had the tuna melt and my friend had a burger. The service was friendly and prompt and the prices were super reasonable. The only con is the parking, there really isn’t any… I parked at the library but I’m not totally sure that’s allowed!

First I want to say that I have eaten in this restaurant a number of times before and never had an issued until this past Sunday There was the normal wait, this time 2 hours. When the waitress took our order it was a good half hour before we got it. She ignored us for long periods of time and another waitress dealt with us. There were six in our group including a small infant. I have to give the service a 0(zero).

We went for breakfast because we heard It was great. The food was greasy, the wait staff was rude and it was to cramped seating.

Are you kidding me? The worst Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. No Canadian bacon, just a thick ham steak ½ on each muffin. Visually so unappealing. They could have cut the ham steak into a circles to make it look like Eggs Benedict should. Home fries soggy and bacon greasy! I won’t even tell you about the coffee. Waste of money!

Great place to grab a quick, delicious breakfast! A bit pricier than a diner, but definitely worth it!

The food is fine but the service is awful. Go only if you’re willing to waste time for mediocre food. Here’s a few«highlights» of our experience: — We had to ask multiple times for a refill on coffee. — We only got one refill the entire 2 hours even after asking — The waitress yelled us for saying«yay» when we finally got her to bring more coffee saying«I have other tables to wait» — It took us another 20 minutes to pay the bill. They saw we had a credit card and just walked away from the register. 15 minutes later, they returned and did not acknowledge /apologize for the extra wait. I absolutely will not be returning.

Great place to meet for breakfast! The food all around has been solid the many times I have been but the kicker is the Portuguese muffins! Holy moly they are great. Service is hit or miss but whatever, coffee is great and everything is great once I get coffee!

Waitstaff is great. There, out with the good. Moving on; I ordered eggs Benedict… came out with a raw egg(which I noticed just after my first fork-full). I notified the waitress, who was horrified. She brought the plate back to the kitchen. In about five minutes, my eggs returned… same plate, same raw egg, same missing bite, however they added about three times the original amount of hollandaise sauce to cover it all up… not happy. The waitress felt terrible and offered another dish, but after that I wasn’t feeling too keen on eating anything from there again.

Was in for breakfast back in October prior to a drive back to Long Island. I found the staff to be very pleasant and quick. Albeit, we were in around 7:30a on a Sunday, everybody was bright and cheery. Breakfast was equally enjoyable and prepared as requested. We had a very good reasonably priced meal and hit the road. Wish I had this place near me. Will be back next time I’m in the area.

Sunnyside is a reliable go to for breakfast. That in mind, it shouldnt be treated as more. It is slightly overpriced for the food they serve, but the portions at least make up where flavor lacks. I usually go with an omelette, and they do have good choices. As another reviewer said, its nothing to write home about, but it is a solid breakfast joint that will fill ya up and make ya feel at home.

Nothing to write home about. My breakfast was below average, especially the homefries. These were the blandest, lousiest potatoes I think I’ve ever had on a breakfast plate. The bacon was average, but could have been better. Service was friendly, but slow.

If I go anywhere for breakfast, it’s here! If you live in Ashland, it’s probably one of your favorites too. I have been coming here for longer than I can remember, and it’s consistently great. I’m not sure of the exact hours, but they were open at 6am when I went and I know they close at 2pm. The food is always good and hot, and the service is always timely. It has a warm, home like atmosphere to it, which I think keeps people coming back. I usually get the ‘2+2+2′, two eggs any style, two sausage links or bacon strips, 2 pancakes or french toast, and home fries. It’s the perfect breakfast plate and definitely filling. I recommend coming here to anyone that asks about a good breakfast place, quality food, good service, and reasonable prices.

This place is great! I went here for the first time a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been avoiding J&M in Framingham ever since it has been unbelievably overcrowded on the weekends and my last experience there was subpar. This diner has a nice home-y feel to it, it’s a good size, and the menu has many options. I got the western omelette with homefries, a chocolate milk(wasn’t great they don’t use the good stuff) and shared mozzarella sticks with my friend. The omelette was huge and it wasn’t super expensive like other diners(ahem J&M) so it was nice to not spend 11 dollars on eggs and homefries for once. Generous portions and the food was delicious! I’ll definitely go again!

Sunnyside Café is one of those go to brunch places when your around Framingham or Ashland. Open from the wee hours of the morning till around 2 pm everyday their omelette’s are always large and in charge with a host of varied ingredients and breakfast sandwiches are stacked high. If your brave, try something off the specials menu. Usually it’s well worth the money and the dish is both creative and delicious. However every egg has its runny days so if your disappointed– you didn’t get that tip from me. My favorite thing at Sunnyside is the omelettes. Go forth and eat as many as you can; they have over 10 different styles and many of which you can create your own. If you’re craving something sweet for breakfast choose the french toast or the silver dollar pancakes. They are warm, fluffy, and usually adorned with a hunk of whipped butter. Mmmmm. If you’re going to order a stack of fancy pancakes be prepared to unbuckle your belt– they are huge. But be warned: the center is ALWAYS undone. I’ve been going to Sunnyside for about 5 years, trust me I know. Eat around the outside and just admit defeat in the middle. On a more professional side, Sunnyside is really open to substitutions and the servers are courteous(but perhaps not the most happy) about such requests. Leave them a big tip and enjoy your meal, your way. Tips: — You pay at the counter after your meal so don’t leave the money on the table– the server will mistake it for a hefty tip. — If your coming around 9 am on a saturday expect to wait. There isn’t very much waiting room inside but the wait isn’t usually very long — You may get a grumpy waitress– but it doesn’t usually affect the service. They’ll pout. You still get your food. Everyone’s happy in the end.
