Nothing about this restaurant isn’t perfect. Great food, a great selection of decently-priced beer and wine, and the desserts are to die for. I’ve been several times and everything is wonderful. Make sure you get an oatmeal cream pie for dessert(or to take home) if Jeremy’s made them that day. Paninis are my favorite & I always get an order of the goat cheese peppadews. My favorite place in Ashland!

Love this place! Perfect for a quick work lunch with the office or a date night with apps and local brews. The food is amazing and really fresh. The staff is accommodating and really helped me choose items from the menu that respected my dietary restrictions. It’s a hidden secret that I hope locals continue to support. The Caboose does it right!

A café style restaurant was added onto the business, behind the store front. The café has great food, beer, coffee, and desert options. The menu even states which local farm their ingredients came from. It’s hard not to come here for a morning coffee, then back for lunch, then stop by after work for a beer. Great, friendly staff and the atmosphere is very dynamic and enjoyable.

There is a restaurant in back serving locally sourced food and drink. Local farmers from Hanover County are the sources of great fresh ingredients. The have small pickled, Greek and cheese plates. Salads and soups. Sandwiches and Tapas, Incredible selection of craft beers on tap and wine by the glass. The menu changes with the seasons. This fantastic gourmet restaurant with wine and beer shop truly makes Ashland the Center Of The Universe! The restaurant portion of The Caboose opened in July 2015, and it is off to a terrific start!

When your beer guy knows you and your family by name, you’re either an alcoholic or a lucky guy. I may be both, but this place is incredible, not only for great ownership, but for great selection, and possibly the last free wine tasting in the county.

Downtown Ashland is pretty limited when it comes to places to go, but luckily we have The Caboose, a local shop that has tons of beers and wines to choose from as well as a cheese case and local items to purchase. They also have wine and/or beer tastings on Friday nights(at least the Friday I went, they had both). Their staff will help you pick things out and find you what you’re looking for. Prices aren’t bad either.

I was looking for a place to get some beer that is really hard to come by. Luckily I didn’t have to drive all the way to Richmond looking for it. This place has quite the selection of beers, and better yet the people who work here have a great attitude. If your looking to try new beers/wines/cheeses this is a great place to start. Also their prices seem pretty reasonable.
