I brought my sister who came in to see me from Chicago, to Astoria to see Shanghaied in Astoria. We have never seen a poorer performance. We don’t even want to call them amateurs because we feel it’s an insult to amateurs. We left at intermission. The best thing about the evening was their porta potty which was very clean. I can’t imagine people coming to see this for 28 years. The people sitting at our table also left as disgusted as we were. Another couple as we were leaving was also leaving and called it pathetic. They felt it was a waste of money and he had gotten a headache. Hetty, Chicago Diane. Portland

This is a great little community theatre. They are finally going to be able to fund actual bathrooms to replace the porta-potty too. Very intimate venue, not a bad seat in the house. My only desire is that they would add more variety to the playbill and not focus so much on the touristy traditional shows. I know that is where the cash flow is, but if you build a nice community draw that has variety, you will win the hearts of more locals who could really enjoy good community theatre at a decent price. I have seen quite a few productions here and am always quite impressed wit our local talent and dedicated support crews. Support your local arts & artists!!!
