Best halibut and chips ever! My boyfriend really enjoyed his crab omelet especially due to the fact it had real crab meat in it!

Pretty mediocre food. We stopped for a late lunch and were disappointed with«bowling alley» food. We were seated quick(which was nice since we had two hungry kids), they had a children’s menu that had pages to color, and they were quick to get us drinks. But we just weren’t impressed with the food at all.

My partner introduced me to this place. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when we walked in to a gift shop on the way to the restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find this place had really tasty food(loved the sourdough pancakes) and cheerful servers. Would definitely visit again.

The food was great and service was even better. We’d definitely come back through here the next time we’re in town.

The food is good, but service over the last year has become terrible, they really have some staff issues, most of the hostess and wait staff is great but last few times service was very slow. My last visit we were seated promptly but waited 10 minutes with no service when I seen another group that had just walked in getting service, I got up and left.

Predictable. Basic. Cysco food, and on occasion, fresh razor clams, served in a Howard Johnson’s atmosphere. Breakfast is a blow-out, and the pies are made at the Pig. Sue S

We went here for breakfast. It was your standard breakfast items on the menu. The most interesting breakfast item was probably what my husband had which was the eggs Benedict but with crab. He ate this quickly and said it was delicious. I had the sourdough blueberry pancakes which were really good as well. I wouldn’t waste money on their coffee or latte as though those were OK. Overall a good breakfast place.

First time here and I was really impressed. Our server Scottie was on it! She was working the entire front section by herself. Never lost her cool, carried stacked plates out like a champ, and was so tentative to her tables. As a former server, her game is on point. Food was excellent. We ordered French toast and chicken fried steak scramble. Hit the spot. What can I say, everyone was working hard both in kitchen and on the floor. Great job everybody! Ill be back.

Service was slow but there was only one server or so it appeared and it was fairly busy. And that’s excusable. No drink order was taken but we were able to place it when our food came. The salad i was given was of the bagged variety. I’ve had the shrimp melt before but this time it didn’t live up to my previous expectation. It was barely warm and the muffin was kinda soggy. The fries were good though. Overall the food and service weren’t worth the prices. I feel bad for only giving 3 stars, but frankly it deserves a 2.

Let me say that I have never sent back food in my life– this was a first. The place was moderately busy, there were tables open on a recent Saturday morning. Ordered a pecan waffle for about $ 8.50. When it was delivered it was cold, the whipped cream melted, COMPLETELY, under cooked and so thin it didn’t make it to the edges of the waffle iron. For $ 8.50?! Really appalling and the service was horrible. I sent it back and got what my husband was having– so we ate two separate breakfasts. Overpriced and blah. During checkout we had been charged for the waffle and when I complained they took it off and gave us free coffee? Really? I don’t have high standards, I go with the flow, but I would never go back.

Think Elmer’s or Shari’s. Since there’s not one of those in Astoria, Pig N Pancake serves as the king of the small chain diner. Coming here for breakfast isn’t bad, but I’d avoid lunch and dinner, that is if you are a fan of fresh, made on the spot food, homemade(which we are). The food here rivals IHOP, Denny’s Elmer’s and Shari’s and if those are your go-to spot that you enjoy you’ll love this place. Meanwhile, if you want fresh seafood or entrees made from scratch from a chef you’ll be better served elsewhere. We did, however, try the pies and they weren’t bad, as is the breakfast. Otherwise, there’s nothing to crave here. But this is Astoria and finding quality food isn’t the norm.

What a difference from our experience at this chain’s location this morning in Coos Bay. Only came here again because it happened to be right next to the hotel we were staying in and we could walk to it. Service was much, much better. Food was ok. I ordered the halibut and chips; while the fish was wonderful, the breading was soggy. I had to peel it off. Fries were fantastic. Dinner salad was boring; while fresh, it was just lettuce with carrot and cabbage slivers. No tomato, no cucumber, no croutons. While we were paying our bill, I tried to share with the cashier to share with mgmt that fried fish is best served on some sort of paper to soak up the oil, she gave me a response that told me she didn’t listen to what I was saying(something about the freshness of the fish, which I was not contesting). I had to repeat myself.

Not bad! Pancakes with bluerry pie topping, tasty. Potato pancakes tasted toasty fried like good hash browns. Denver omelette, standard; could have been cheezier; a bit dry. But all in all, a legit diner experience. True to that, the coffee is old style –a bit weak. Americana!

Whenever I go to the coast, I eat at a Pig N Pancake. It’s something I’ve done since I was very little. This is the first time I’ve made it to the Astoria location. The service was good and the food was too. Though it is kinda underwhelming as far as the brand goes. It’s not the best Pig N Pancake but not the worst.

Love the big breakfast menu and hash browns! I went here on a late Saturday morning and the parking lot was packed. Surprisingly no wait, since this place is huge. Love all he natural sunlight. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. I went with the 2 eggs, toast, and hash browns for $ 8. Pricier than what I’m used to playing for breakfast food, but that seems to be the going rate around here. Decent portions. Eggs were cooked exactly how I asked and the toast(2 pieces cut into halves) was buttery and delicious. Hash browns had a great crisp and well binded. Great spot for a casual breakfast!

We came here with a large group, and it was pretty busy, but there were still able to get us seated within a half hour. The food is pretty standard diner fare, although the Swedish pancakes were better than average! I had them with blueberry instead of strawberry and they were delicious. The service was great too — the waitress remembered everything correctly and kept our coffees and water pitcher filled — not an easy feat for a table of ten in a busy restaurant! No fuss about splitting the checks out either, which we appreciated. Great spot for breakfast, just be prepared for it to be busy!

I saw Pig ‘N Pancake in all 5 beaches thru out Oregon Coast. Finally, got a chance to try the breakfast but it was just ok! Just an average breakfast place, nothing special. Service = 4 stars. :)
