If you’re looking for coffee and breakfast before heading to work, this is the place. It’s conveniently located on the corner of the Manhattan bound 46th Street subway station in Astoria. The service is always prompt, and I’m in and out under a minute. An employee by the name of Michael calls me by name, knows my order, and is funny. I have noticed he knows many of the other customers by name also, and makes everyone else laugh with his upbeat personality. I usually just get coffee, but I have ordered donuts and breakfast sandwiches before, and they were delicious and fresh. No it’s not a Starbucks, so as long as you’re not expecting that then you will be satisfied and leave happy. P. S. cash only!

Somewhat stale donuts and the place almost always smells like kitty litter in the back near the fridge. I just dont feel clean when walking in there, it is just grimy. They need a major renovation and cleaning. The only good thing is you can get a quick coffee before getting on the train which is right there.

First of all, I have to take issue with Chris S’ statement that Queens is otherwise a barren wasteland when it comes to breakfast. There are a million great diners, great bagel places(Brooklyn Bagel Co. has three locations in Astoria alone), and little stands everywhere that sell coffee and bagels/donuts in the morning. But, none of this takes away from the fact that D-Lite is a great place. The glazed donuts(called«Honey Dip» on the menu) are pretty amazing when they are fresh, highly recommended! The donuts in general are good but too often stale or have too much sugar or frosting all over them, which gets kind of crusty if they’ve been sitting there awhile. The best bang for your buck there is a breakfast plate, which comes in a styrofoam tray with plastic utensils. They give a generous serving of eggs, bacon, potatoes for a few bucks. The main draw to this place(and probably the reason for most of their business) is that it is literally right above the 46th st. subway stop on Broadway, which makes it super convenient to grab a donut or muffin + coffee on your way to the subway if you are in a hurry.

When I moved to Queens, I felt like I had abandoned breakfast. Couldn’t find a good donut or a bagel. It seemed as though no one woke up before 11. Then, one day I saw that D-Lite was buzzing with activity. Donutes, yes only 85 cents. Bagels, yes only 85 cents. Drinks? Reasonably priced. Boston Crème? Yes. Lunch? Yes they’ll do it too. What a great place. Cheap prices, if you have the cash, if you don’t then you’re SOL. I heard their chicken is good, I’ve had burger and fries, bagels, donuts, all relatively good, considering there is no other option. So if you’re in the neighborhood, and your tummy is rumbling, stop in.
