This location of Footlocker on Steinway has decent floor staff who always greet you as you go in. Large selection of sneakers for both men and women, but I found them to be limited for running style shoes. Was in last Saturday to buy some running shoes with the wife. While they had a dozen or so models, they did not have the high end brands. No Asics, no Mizuno, no New Balance. Now, if you want basketball shoes, «forgetaboutit». They seem to have every Nike basketball shoe made. Service is friendly, but these young kids may give you a song and dance on your requirements. They try to sell their inventory instead of the models you are looking for. Nothing wrong with this, just be aware of this. Overall, this is your average Footlocker. Clean, well lit, friendly staff, various models on sale. If your shoe of choice are basketball shoes, large selection. Otherwise, hit or miss, but you should find something if you are not picky.

I am frankly surprised at the poor reviews of this Footlocker. I live on Steinway(don’t stalk me, thanks) and have been in most if not all the sneaker stores on the street– and have to say that Footlocker is one of the best when it comes to selection and price(if we’re talking about brands like Nike, Adidas, et). I got a pair of Nike Roshe Run sneakers for $ 70, tax free– which is the same price online(everything else I’ve looked at online is the same or more expensive). The associate that helped me out was really friendly, helpful, and charismatic. More sneakers for me I guess if y’all aren’t into it– but again, this store is great in my experience.

Astoria has an abundance of sneaker stores that have better selection and prices. Avoid this dump if you can-lousy selection with deafening music…

This place is a RIP-OFF. I repeat, RIP-OFF! I bought these pair of Nike Dunks one time, which was retailed for $ 80 or $ 85. They charged me $ 90, tax-free. When I asked why that was, the guy had the dumbest reply — «That’s the retail price. This is our price». The guy clearly just wanted to get it over with and get his job done. Whatever. Ended up buying the shoes but wouldn’t ever go back there again. They don’t have a good selection of shoes anyway.
