Poor service and the staff is rude. They spend more time chatting with their friends then helping customers.

Just wanted to say I stopped in here to pick up a few things for my Chrismas shopping including an Xbox one. They are having some holiday deals here so go check it out! Ps4 on sale and Xbox one. My main reason for writing the review– because I usually try and keep my reviews to just events, or food– but when I come across excellent customer service (or terrible lol) I think it deserves to be posted about.
So for this «Game Stop» location I have to say we were assisted by «Robert» and he was fantastic! Nice welcoming smile and extremely helpful! Walked out with a new Xbox one, some game cases, and a Marty McFly and Doc Brown collectible figure haha! Highly recommended location!

They have everything. But you’re waiting! Only 1 person works the checkout. They all are in slow motion. You can go 2 doors down for 2/3’s the selection for a nicer price and no wait at all! This post would be 5 stars if they had a faster checkout service. Yes! THAT LONG OF A WAIT to drop it 3 stars! You’re more annoyed, from waiting, when you leave. Takes away from the excitement for whatever you just purchased. The only reason I would be patient enough to wait… is due to 3 doors down being out of what I needed.

I reserved a game system via the Gamestop website, and came to the store to pick up after having been notified via email that the item was ready for pickup. After waiting on line for 45 minutes, I was very dismissively told that neither the game system, nor the game I had picked out, could be found. The associate, Jaylen, spent approximately 30 seconds looking, the suggested I go to the back of the line and find something else. When I informed him I was not going to the back of the line, his best solution was to offer me a significantly lesser package «for the same price.» Having little choice (it was xmas eve), I had to settle for this «offer.»
Jaylen was also visibly agitated when I refused to purchase additional warranties.
To add insult to injury, Gamestop customer service is of little assistance. I’m currently number 183 in the queue after holding for 39 minutes.

This is the only gamestop i go to. I try to always deal with Joseph, he is hands down the coolest dude there.

I’ve been going to this gamestop for years, me and my family by our games and consoles here and even our first consoles like the first playstation and xbox. I never have a bad experience and everyone is cool and respectable and though there is a bit of a wait you’re never disappointed. Big store a lot of selections and of course with it being right by schools and other shops and apartments you will get a lot of people daily so its fun to know what times to go and what times not to go :).

This place was awesome when it was called software etc. i used to go there all the time to pre order games. Now they just got a bunch of kids who dont know nothing about their products.

Place is horrid. Staff is very unprofessional and rude. The place is dirty and the floor always looks like it needs to be swept.

I am not really a crazy gamer, but my boyfriend likes to stop in here when we are in the area and check out what games are on sale. I think he secretly hopes to get a really good deal on a game, which really doesn’t ever happen. I don’t mind taking a look around for a bit.
This store is usually understaffed and there isn’t an associate working the sales floor, only behind the cash wrap. If you need something, you have to wait on line to get any attention… even to ask a question. If you are purchasing and waiting for questions and concerns to be accommodated this can be frustrating. Disorganized. Don’t be surprised when an associate tells you they may have something available in the back stock for you, but they can’t retrieve or check on it for you because there is no other staff. An invitation to come back later and ask again after someone else comes in, say after 1pm, isn’t my favorite form of customer service.
Store is only ok. I really prefer the store on Northern Blvd. While a bit of a trek, the service and availability is better.

I’ve wandered in here several times both alone and with my boyfriend. We like to look at games that are newly released and games that are on sale. I have a PS2 and PS3 and although my gaming days (if you can call it that… I was a DDR, Karaōke Revolution, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, PacMan, Centipede, Pokemon guru back in my day, lol) are much behind me I still like to walk around and browse. I like that no one here has every bothered me and has let me be.

I am sorry to see that there have been some customers who’ve had bad experiences with these guys; I haven’t bought a game console since the early 90s, and when I went in the other day, I was helped by a guy named Carlos, who was just terrific. Though he was more of an Xbox guy, he had a commanding knowledge of the PS3, which I was there to purchase. He really went the extra mile with me and was appreciative of my time, patient with my stupid questions, and though he was quite young and bore all the usual trappings of his age, it didn’t negatively impact his attitude at all. That alone was refreshing.
I went in again two days later and dealt with another guy, Jefferson, who was every bit as polite, helpful, and seemed like he actually gave a damn.

Cool location. Very knowledgeable staff.

Decent enough Gamestop, haven’t run into any of the issues reported elsewhere on this page. Their selection is massive enough so that if you wander in looking for nothing in particular, you can usually find something unexpected. It can be crowded at times.

I hate this Gamestop with a passion. The store is large and getting help from the employees is like pulling stubborn teeth. The employees are complete douche bags and think they own the games. They have many games in stock for different gaming consoles and PC but really, is it necessary to give an attitude to someone who is spending over $ 300?
I was the one spending over $ 300 and when the guy yanked the money out of my hand, I yanked it back and told him to check his attitude and he isn’t worth me giving money under his name. I walked out and just went to Best Buy. I was so peeved at this guy to the point where I didn’t want to go to the other Gamestop located on Steinway, which is far better and more friendlier.
The employees at this Gamestop need to remove whatever joystick is shoved up their ass.

Pro: Really large store. There are approximately a billion gamestops scattered across our series of islands (the next one to this location being 2 blocks away…) Most are kinda small with a very limited selection. This one has lots.
Con: If you need help, forget it. Only go if you know exactly what you want, or are able to help yourself find what you want/​need/​are interested in. Whenever I’ve had to ask a question I’ve had to wait for a good few minutes to get the one guy who can help me because the other guy is busy doing something else.
Look. I’ve worked retail. I know it can be a pain in the ass to help someone when you clearly have a ton of work to get done. That said, I always have to suck it up and help the damned customer. Ignoring isn’t an option. If there are a bunch of employees available, fine do what you’re doing, but if I’m standing there waiting for a small eternity for the poor soul swamped with customers, and I KNOW you know I’m standing there, HELP ME!
And no, your required corporate «Welcome to Gamestop where such and such is available and this and that can be reserved» greeting does NOT count as helping me…

I signed up for the Edge card for my daughter. She likes selling her games once she’s done w/​it. We buy other used games for less, plus with the Edge card you get an additional discount. I actually just returned some Wii accessories (already opened) and told the clerk that it was useless. Although unopened boxes are not acceptable for returns, he gladly took it and gave us credit.

I find Gamestops baffling. You walk in, and there is a veritable smorgasborg of gaming parafenelia. And here’s the thing: There is no relationship between what is on the shelves, and what can actually be bought. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. There is no point to looking at the shelves. You are better served going to a Circuit City. You can just grab the game you want, and make your sale.

I refuse to ever go in this store again. The fuckers called me up and told me a game I’d pre-​ordered (already paid for) was there waiting for me, and that I should come and pick it up.
Not only was the game not there when I arrived, the clerks had no idea when it was coming in and offered no explanation for the call.
The district manager called me a week later and tried to blame UPS for «shipping games late,» when the issue wasn’t the arrival of the game at all, but the fact that I was fucking called and told the game was there.
I wasted an hour of my life walking out there and back.
Fuck you, Gamestop on Steinway. Fuck you.
