Staff are friendly, been going here ever since it opened. Went to go get my note 4 fixed, fixed in couple days but the screen was never glued, the next day I picked up my phone and screen fell and broke again. They try charging me $ 160, when I got it fixed for $ 200 already. The previous person who fixes the phones in the store left to another store screen was a good person. had a problem like this few months ago, he took care of it with no charge only labor. So I basically wasted $ 200 and guess I have to shop at gamestop again.

this store is great!!! I was looking to buy a Gamecube, As they were around $ 60 — $ 75 in the city and i was hoping to get one cheaper around Queens, Luckily these guys were selling the console and cables for only $ 35! DEAL!

Feel like this store is a little messy & the sales people have more fun talking amongst them selfs then to help the customers. There selection is also very limited and rarely ever have any of the video games my son is looking for.

75% of my Sundays for the past 3 years have been spent checking out Cex(the DVD store) and Game Stop(the Video Game store) on this block with my boyfriend after breakfast/brunch. But like 2 months ago I asked him if we could pop in here because it seemed smaller and more mom n ’ pop-like. I immediately breezed straight to the back and exclaimed, «OMG! SNESANDGAMEBOYGAMES!!!». This is particularly exciting because we have a Retron 5 that plays these games and it’s one of our favorite(nauseatingly adorable) lazy weekend couple activities. Generally we get our retro gaming through Amazon, Ebay or my personal favorite, Video Games New York in downtown Manhattan — but I love knowing that we can check out some of these older games now in our own neighborhood. The guy who works here is friendly and knowledgable. Their secondhand retro games are priced pretty fairly and we’ve never had an issue with them not working. The only con would be that they don’t get a lot of new stock so a lot of the time it’s just the same games… but still. That’s not entirely their fault so it is what it is. If you’re looking for some retro games or want to buy some newer games and do it at an independently owned store then come here.

One of the games I bought here worked, the other did not. Unsure if they’re tested before sale. Just a heads up.

Did not buy or sell anything here. Stopped by to find out if they unlocked phones. They instructed me my iphone from verizon actually is unlocked out of the box and there is nothing I need to do. I appreciate the honesty of this business. Others might just charge me money even if they did not have to do anything. That gets an A+ in my book.

I started coming here to sell my video games and accessories. The amount of money/credit they give back is leaps and bounds over what GameStop gives you. The employees are chill and very receptive to questions. Highly recommend coming here.

Love these guys as they are always helpful and friendly when I go in. As others have said, if possible, skip Gamestop and shop here. My only wish is they had more retro game variety.

–Decent selection of games, consoles, and throwback games(PS2 games, etc.) –Knowledgable staff and courteous to all gaming needs from gaming knowledge to release dates to possible SF4 combos your friend showed you, but never explained to you in full. –Much more friendlier than Steinway’s chain of Gamestop and makes you feel just right at home. A mom and pop store for the hardcore to casual gamers out there. –Includes repair cost and time needed in case your PS3/XBOX stumbles on a Yellow Light of Death experience –Would give it a full 5 if they had some special events to keep the store up and running. Maybe a tourney or casual night one of these days would do. Overall, a great store to game, shop, and bump uglies with gamers alike.

For some season I like this store better than there rival Game Stop. They have reasonable prices, well organized, and have a cool staff. They also offer other services such as repairing game systems, repairing IPhones, selling phone cases and accessories. Heck they even sale phones.

So glad this place opened up on Steinway, since I hate going to GameStop. Game Champ gave me more for my trade-ins than GS or Amazon would have. I literally got my 3DS for no cost after trading in my old DS Lite and some other games. Also, the guys behind the counter are super chill.

Place was clean, okay selection and when my husband asked about a game he wanted, they offered to order it for him tomorrow. Unfortunately, we don’t live near here. I’d definitely give business to this store before I would give any to the cruddy Game Stop nearby.

Good video game store with excellent service. I came here to purchase Gran Turismo 5. The prices here are a few dollars cheaper than gamestop. Used game prices here are great and are in good condition as well. The store is bright, organized, and very clean. They have a good store location. Street parking isn’t too difficult and its close to the municipal lot.

I’m not someone who does things like this regularly, but the exceptional experience I had at Game Champ made me make a mental note to review it. They paid me more for my PSP trade in’s than the gamestop next door, and their selection is no less than a bigger, «brand name» shop. The people were super friendly and knowledgeable as I saw them recommending games for others in the store based on,(in my opinion), some exceptionally vague descriptions of what they like and dislike in their games. Also, their store manager set aside one of the final two copies of the game in which I was interested while I ran to the atm to snag cash(the only bad thing about this establishment: it’s cash only).
