So after a long day at work I stop to get chicken over rice and Greek salad with chicken and a regular kabob for me and my kids $ 25 took it to go when. I get home the Kabob was burnt and inedible and the chicken was all under cooked so I had to throw it all out and take kids for pizza and also would like to mention the guy at the counter instead of being on your phone facetimimg pay attention to your business you and your family built something good there but keep up the poor service and terrible food and see how fast you’ll lose it

Seriously good. I recommend the 2 sticks(beef & chicken) over rice, which comes with a tiny salad with hot and white sauce on top, and lemon juice, oregano, and BBQ sauce on the kebabs. The rice is even delicious because the lemon juice marinade seeps off the meat and perfectly seasons it. The 2 sticks over rice is $ 8 and is very filling(it’s a bit smaller than your usual«chicken over rice»). I’ve also tried the lamb kebab which was also great, but I think the chicken and beef taste the best, although all are well-seasoned and juicy. They take credit cards($ 10 minimum). Only complaint was that the guy working in the truck wasn’t as accommodating as I wanted — it was my first time and I had no idea what to order with what toppings, etc. Thanks to Unilocal I figured it out, but they could be friendlier. But given that it’s a food truck and not a restaurant, I’m not going to take a star away for that. They’re serving up some great food here, def recommend!

Good spot and the best souvlaki in by. The place has been there for years and the quality of the food is the reason why. Other food trucks and stands have opened around them but nobody is as consistent as them

Been enjoying Frankys souvlaki for years from his street cart, now he’s got a truck. My favorite souvlaki in Astoria. One complaint though, he let’s people put hot sauce or BBQ sauce on the souvlakis, do not allow this Franky, your Greek ancestors are turning in their graves. Sauces are for foods that need to hide the flavor, Franky’s souvlaki do Not need that, just lemon and oregano. Thanks for the great food

What is better than $ 3 grilled souvlaki with your choice of tzatziki, lemon, bbq or hot sauce… Well $ 2 souvlaki but whatever thats missing the point. Frankie’s is quick consistent and amazingly flavorful. It is a must go for anyone living in the neighborhood or visiting.

Hands-down THE best kebobs in NYC and I’ve eaten a lot of kebobs. There are a couple of popular kebob stands near broadway and the train station but this beats them all. No wonder they have been around forever and there is always a line. Everytime I walk to Steinway I need to get one. Great flavor and also has options like pork and lamb.

Delicious! All sorts of meat on a stick, fast and inexpensive. Have had each kind, all are yummy. My favorite is the lamb and shrimp.

Delicious and flavorful grilled meat. Sometimes it’s the food truck, sometimes it’s the cart. But it is always delicious. The meat is cooked just perfectly and the condiments they add afterwards just really enhances all the flavors. I love it with some lemon juice and oregano. There is always a line, but it moves fairly quickly. Prices are great and it’s always a good snack if you need a quick bite on your way to another destination. The guys that work there are friendly and work very efficiently so you have your meat sticks in hand in just a few short minutes.

I was walking down Steinway and all of the sudden, that smell hits me in the face. The smell of grilled, charred meat had me drooling, even though I had just eaten lunch at a BBQ joint a few blocks away! I followed the aroma and ended up at this food truck and boy was I glad I found it. My husband and I decided to get one beef stick to share because we were already full from lunch but couldn’t resist the smell and we’re not in this neighborhood often. We tore right through it and ordered another one. The meat was so tender and flavorful. At $ 3 a stick, you can’t beat that. I like it with the hot sauce, hold the bbq sauce though. I used to love the shish kebobs from the hot dog carts when I was a kid but have gotten wiser not to eat that street stuff now that I’m a grown up. Where do the vendors go to the bathroom and where do they wash their hands? Stuff you don’t think about when you’re a kid and apparently my momma didn’t either because she would be the one to buy them for me. I guess I will have to make any excuse to come back to this neighborhood so that I can eat here again. Would like to try the lamb and chicken next time. Ohhh, the smell…

Maaaaaaaaaan, FRANKY’S!!! I’ve come here about 5 – 6 times, but just recently found out that this cart had a check-in location so I’m late to the Unilocal party! The soulvakis here are BOMB and I rarely say things like that — but given that the grilled meats here are a juicy, succulent and amazing seasoned flavor explosions in your mouth, «bomb» really is the best word to describe these suckers. I always go for their grilled chicken soulvakis(which I also call shishkabobs because that’s what I grew up calling em’) lovingly sprayed generously with lemon juice which this juicy white meat then absorbs and produced glorious happy tears in my eyes. They also come served with a yummy piece of Italian bread — which has never been stale in the times I’ve eaten from here. If you ever find yourself nearby, please do your tummy a favor and pick up one of these. They’re not expensive and they’re worth every penny!

One night while my friend and I were in Astoria neighborhood we wanted something unconventional. We weren’t feeing the typical sit down restaurant and wanted something different. We found Frank’s souvlaki it was completely worth it. I parked in my warm car right behind the truck and ordered two sticks of chicken which was so so tender!!! It came with an Italian style bread right on top! I got it fully seasoned with white sauce! My sister got the lamb/chicken gyro and it was super tender, juicy and delicious! It came inside pita bread with lettuce/tomato and white sauce! All the meat was so packed with flavor and tender! If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a quick bite to fill you up this is the place. There is a line but the line moves very quickly! The staff inside the truck move fast and are very efficient! Chicken stick will cost you 3 dollars each stick. So worth every penny! Gyro I believe is 7 – 8 dollars. The freshness and quality they deliver is better than many restaurants! The truck offers sides of rice, and other options to pair with your meat! Definitely go there and try the meat!

Best souvlaki in town. Get over the fact that its from a street cart. The prices have shot up quite considerably over the years(the last 20 for me) but service & quality have kept up to par. Ask for it any way you like — I prefer mine with lemon/salt/oregano

Been going here since I was a kid. Always delicious. I usually get two kebabs and the bread is rather tasty. But the whole menu is pretty solid for street meat. Get for a short snack when shopping down Steinway street. Stop by and get some tasty noms

The souvlaki here is top notch. I’ve been wanting to check it out every time I pass by here going to work. The lines are long but very quick. I got the beef souvlaki plate for $ 6 and was happy with perfect portion and seasoning provided. The guys running the stand was really friendly as well. Will be back to satisfy my cravings!

I love this place! Easily one of my favorite spots in Queens! My family has been going there for over 20 years, since I was a little kid. The family has been running this cart at this spot since my Dad was little, almost 50 years! One of the true institutions in Queens. They’ve narrowed the menu down over the years to keep the best part: their shish kebabs. Don’t go to any other cart that sells shish kebabs, once you have Frank’s, nothing else will compare. Always juicy, well seasoned, nice grilled flavor, and service is always fast no matter how long the line is!

Being an Astoria native, I have been going to Franky’s since I was young. Its the best souvlaki ever. I always order the beef souvlaki with lemon and oregano. Its amazing. The meat is so tender and juicy. Delicious street food on a stick. The italian bread is the best. Franky’s is the best. Check them out.

Delicious street food. Chicken, pork lamb, steak and more. What more can I say. Reasonably priced and on the corner of Steinway.

Love this shish kabob stand! I’ve been coming to this particular stand ever since I was a little girl and seriously have not found any other kabob stands that make it as delicious as this one. Don’t get this stand confused with other imitators that you will find at this Steinway street and 31st avenue intersection! It is the one right next to Gap Kids and always have tons of smoke rising from it. I’ve tried both beef and chicken kabobs and they are both absolutely phenomenal. So juicy, so flavorful. Just add some lemon juice and hot sauce and you are set — you don’t even need that barbecue sauce nonsense. At $ 3 a stick now, it is still worth it considering you get a good amount of meat. A+.

Start spreading the news. I’m eating today. I want to be a part of it. Astoria, New York! Franky Sinatra opened this little Greek souvlaki stand back in his hey dey by siphoning money from the accounts of other Rat Pack members. And the rest is history. What to get: Chicken on a stick What else: Poor, impaled little chicken :( This place is right next to Baby Gap, in case you can’t find it. There are two well-known rival souvlaki stands in Astoria, close to each other. The other one — King Souvlaki — rocks my world. This one, Franky’s, I find to be average. I’ve tried it twice now, and both times the workers were really friendly, but the meat was just a little dry and perhaps old-tasting for my liking. I prefer my meat juicy as f***(I’m not being dirty, although I sort of always am), and I didn’t experience that here. However, my food tour partner actually liked it better than King Souvlaki, so it’s all a matter of taste really. But I’m giving this one a 4, and King Souvlaki a 5. Try them both for yourself and see what you think. A big stick of meat will set you back less than $ 5 at both places, so you can’t really go wrong. And make sure you get yours covered in sauce, or it really will be dry… even with the sauce I found it too dry. I will definitely try the pork next time since the reviews seem to suggest it. My food tour partner prefers chicken which is why I got that, last time. And by the way, Sinatra no longer owns it, but he sold it to Frank Zappa, Fat Frank Lampard, and Frank N. Stine. Not sure who that lasy guy is. Big guy. Has a greenish tint to his skin. Has a few nuts and bolts loose.
