They carry a great selection and well-priced selection of wines. Nice owner and friendly atmosphere. Great hours.

Small neighborhood store, nothing fancy or snobby. Great store to grab a bottle, most of the wines are in the $ 8 – 12 range, mostly well known and established brands that the average drinker loves and enjoys. The whiskey/whisky selection is superb for such a small shop. A full range of American bourbon and rye as well as top shelf Scotch and Irish. Definitely worth to take a look for yourself.

Happy Liquor Store is exactly what you get here. Bright colors, friendly service, all sorts of happy wines, spirits and boozey booze all at your disposal. Prices here are pretty good and folks that work here are friendly and knowledgable. They’ll also gladly special order you something if they don’t already have it. Overall, 5 stars. Cheers!

Definitely happy with this cozy store, the staff were very helpful since I don’t know much about wine or liquor! Fair price for the bargain especially when there are specials!

I was pleasantly surprised by the small, but diverse selection of whisk(e)ys. My usual liquor store is Grand Wine & Liquor and their whisk(e)y selection is limited. Happy Liquor carried about 3 – 4 single malts in addition to the big names. I know nothing about wines, so I can’t comment on their selection or quality.

I haven’t had much luck buying wine here, but their liquor selection is very good. They also tend to have selections from local distilleries and some interesting small batch stuff that you don’t find as often in Astoria. For example they carry Queen’s Courage gin.

Happy Liquor Store certainly makes me happy. Never understood when a business uses the word«happy» in their name, but it works here. Happy Liquor Store is a small family business in Astoria. It is no different from the hundreds of small liquor stores located throughout Queens and NYC. It is very standard setup with cheap liquor brands, as well as the popular higher end ones. Their wine selection again is stocked with popular brands of wine. Nothing fancy or exotic. If your looking for a Groth bottle of Cab, your in the wrong place. A KJ Chard then your in business. I have been here for a little of this and that. Most important it is convenient. It is a local liquor store. I find Happy Liquor Store to have fair pricing with a basic selection of wine and popular liquor brands. This place is more for the gin mill crowd. Not the decanter crowd.

My wife bought a $ 50 bottle if wine there last week. We got home and tasted the wine and it was bad. It smelled and tasted like sour grapes. I went back to return it or get a new bottle and they refused to give us or money back or exchange the bottle. The cashier/manager said he thought the wine was not bad so therefore he would not help me. They are uneducated when it comes to wine, have no idea how to run a business, and i will make sure to let everyone i know to avoid purchasing from that store in the future.

Friendly staff, wide selection, decent prices. Can’t ask for much more. To be fair, this is the only store I visited in the area since it was across the street from the apartment I was cat-sitting at for the weekend.

I’m not a huge fan of this store, even though it’s conveniently located. The wine selections are not great and the prices are higher than they should be. They have a lot of liquor options, but I always feel like I’m being stalked by the employes when I’m in here. They literally follow you around the store, and I’m not the first person to say this. It doesn’t make me feel welcome OR want to come back. Also, I never get a thank you when I purchase from here either. That being said, it is close. If I’m in a bind, I guess I’ll stop in.

You’re prices are $ 1 – 2 more per bottle than anywhere else in the neighborhood. I live so close and would love to shop there, but it’s not worth it. There’s too much competition to maintain these high prices.

Decent liquor store. Good selection and reasonable prices. Also, a great place to go if you want to be seen. And by seen, I mean stared at by the staff. I understand wanting to project your stock, but how about some subtlety? Thieves beware! Planning a big peach schnapps heist? Go somewhere else.
