Do not buy furniture from this place. Nothing but problems, delays, and unprofessional and miscommunication by the store manager Ruthy. I had a piece of furniture delivered that had been already assembled for me at the store. It was damaged with a deep scrape on one of the doors. I assume when it was assembled or transported. I called the store immediately to let them know, after speaking to the owner, Ruthy then confirmed it could be replaced they just had to wait for the piece to come in from the company. I went by the store on more than one occasion to check on the status, this was over 2 weeks at this point. Ruthy also tried to suggest I remove the damaged door myself and that it was very easy.(although when they finally did fix it they needed a drill to do it) I let her know I had the piece delivered already assembled and I was not going to chance damaging it more than it was when I received it. On a couple occasions Ruthy tried to schedule a time with me to have the delivery man come and change the door and on every occasion it was a failure as she never called to confirm with me that he would or would not be coming. I finally spoke to someone else and we decided to take care of this after the holidays. Finally I spoke to Ruthy about having the door replaced, already into the second week of February. On one attempt she told me the delivery man would be there by 2pm. I confirmed my address and buzzer and she told me she had all the information written down. I asked her to call me the evening before to let me know if he was coming because she had failed to do so before, she said she would. I did not receive a call and finally took it upon myself to call her. The next day at 2:30 when the delivery man never showed I jumped in the shower to get ready for work at which time I had multiple missed calls from the delivery man at 2:40. He never rang the buzzer where my roommate would have let him in. I asked to speak to the owner that day and was given another number where he could be reached and received no answer. I called Ruthy back and asked her to have the delivery person come the next day and I would be waiting until 3 and I repeated if I did not answer my phone they are to ring the buzzer. The next day I received a couple calls from the delivery man and my landlord because the man was walking around looking for my apartment. Even though I am Apt 2 and buzzer 2 out of a three apartment building. When I called Ruthy to ask her why the man did not ring the buzzer as directed she told me she forgot to write down the number??? This was a consistent problem in communication with this person, everything I asked for and she said would be done was not executed. I would not trust this company and Ruthy to deliver anything again when they couldn’t get a simple cabinet delivery and repair done properly after several attempts and over a month. When I let her know I would not being doing business in the future with this company because of her consistent miscommunications she said«Thank you for the favor». and hung up on me. Now if that is not customer service, I don’t know what is! There are plenty of furniture companies to get ripped off by in Astoria, but getting ripped off and f’d over, I am all set.
