We love Pat’s Pantry! A wonderful collection of spices! We stop here every time we come to Astoria to tinker and play… we always grab something new and a staple. The new spice this time was Togarashi, this one a unique blend that goes great in a bowl of noodles or sprinkled on fries! Our old staple and essential spice in our household is ZHUG! You must give this spice a try… absolutely AMAZING! Sprinkled on meat, veggies, or sprinkled atop a smashed avocado with olive oil and spread on artisan bread… YUM! Pat is amazingly knowledgeable of her products and we have found both her and her employees to be extremely accommodating… I highly recommend a visit to Pat’s if you enjoy playing with spice and flavor in your kitchen.

This is a class store – Pat’s will match up to good spice shops anywhere around the country. It’s a sign of how much people in the Astoria area appreciate good food that Pat’s exists. For people that like good food – one sniff of the products at Pat’s and you will never want to go back to the bottles of old, faded spices at Fred Meyer or Safeway. Good spices are a revelation; if you have never tried a specialty provider like this, RUN to Pat’s! The people are super helpful, the spices are pungent and flavorful, the bottles are high end and give a nice feeling when you go home and use them – you will feel like you are a better chef! You will be spoiled for life.

Great place for unique spices and small gifts for foodie friends. The store is beautiful, very open with lots of natural light and a bar-like area in the back with some samples. Spices are sold by the ounce, so perfect if you need just a little something for a recipe. They also have drinking vinegars, olive oils, teas, jars of fruit jellies and duck fat, yogurt and cheese making kits, large blocks of pink salt… fun stuff! Very helpful and welcoming staff.

Excellent selection! I first started buying bulk spices when I lived in Austin, and I’m glad I don’t have to give it up after moving to a small town. Pat and Tom are very welcoming and knowledgeable. If you’re gonna buy herbs and spices, this is the way to do it!

I have been hearing about this place for months. Friday I walked in and was pleasantly surprised the lady who I presume owns the place was very nice and informative. I asked her what item was the most popular and without hesitation she said duck fat. I have never tried it but took a chance. Wow! It really does enhance fried potato. I was also introduced to Blossom vinegar. All I can say is stop by and prepare to be amazed.

Saw this place by chance while taking a walk in downtown Astoria. If you love spices, stop here!!! We weren’t really sure what we wanted, but the woman working there(and I believe her husband as well) were super super friendly and helped us out immensely! Every question we asked she answered with the utmost knowledge, because it sounds like she had tried every spice in the store… and you are allowed to open the jars and smell stuff! She also let us try a number of salts we were thinking about getting for fish plates. Black truffle salt??? sold. go here!

WOW… I am in spice nirvana! Spices, herbs, blends, you can find it here. Everything is arranged by categories. salts, baking, herbs, peppers, chilies etc. all in clear, lidded jars, so you can smell the contents. Heaven, whiff by whiff… These are FRESH! The price per ounce is clearly labeled and the jar contains the amount you get for the price. There is no guessing how much you’ll get. The store is clean and brightly lit. Pat greeted us, answered questions and you can tell she is passionate about her business. She knows her spices AND uses them! Use Herbs de Provence? Try Paris Seasoning-OMG! Need duck fat? It’s here! Cherry bitters. It’s here too! Two shelves of peppercorns, speciality finishing salts. need I continue? Channel your inner chef and be inspired! Stop what you are doing and run to this great little shop! Pat, your shop has made me happy, and my tastebuds are anticipating gastronomic bliss!
