I’m a regular here. I have no idea of how many times I have eaten here. What I love the most is their chicken lasagna. It is the best! It doesn’t taste like any Italian flavor but it is still amazing. Their sweet plantain have no comparison. What I don’t like from them is that they are so oily and I always have to use one napkin to take some oil out. Anyways, their quinoa, beans, salads, churrascos… So good. Until now the only thing that I couldn’t eat one day was some pasta with beef, it was not al dente and it didn’t taste good. Their manager or owner(the lady) wearing glasses all the time and always around, she is so sweet and polite. I will be always coming back although the service is not the best.

I like this place. The salmon and the chicken teriyaki were so good, but the bread was a bit too hard.

This is my go — to spot whenever I need a substantial meal. The meats are cooked on a spit behind the counter, there is a self serve bar in the center. I’ve been enough times to know that what they serve there changes everyday. The oxtail is some of the biggest I’ve seen around. This place also offers great alternatives for those who don’t want to eat a heavy meal or are taking a dieting or healthier approach. Salads, quinoa, beets, fish are all served to perfection. They also have juices and smoothies /bowls you can ask for behind the counter. I recommend the orange salmon. The oxtail, the sirloin steak, the collard greens. For breakfast, pre workout or a quick meal after the gym I recommend the acai bowl(especially on a hot summer day). It comes beautifully decorated with bananas and granola. It tastes amazing and it’s not very filling. You’ll be leaving the restaurant happy as can be and ready for the day with a surge of healthy energy. The desserts are also amazing. Tres leches that they make there is unique to their own recipe. They put their own spin to it. I also love the brigadeiro. I get it so often that they already know to add to my order. So amazing. I used to come to this place twice a day, 7 days a week but now it’s only once a week because I’m busy working. My favorite restaurant in Astoria. Should be a cullinary landmark if you ask me…

One of my most favorite places in Astoria. The food is always delicious and there are always so many things to choose from. I love how there are many different types of salads and healthy options like salmon and grilled fish. The BBQ meat section is also very impressive at only $ 6.99 a pound for salmon and meats, and $ 5.99 a pound for everything else. I’ve been here multiple times and the staff is always very friendly and nice. This has become my go to spot after the gym. Love this place.

Love this place! Came here upon a friends recommendation and can’t wait to come back– the delicious food, reasonable prices, and some of the best staff I’ve ever encountered all under one roof It’s basically a Brazilian food buffet and you get what ever you want and weigh it at the end. There is also more meat behind the counter– delicious part of Brazilian cuisine! It’s not the largest place but most people just get their food, sit down, eat, and leave. No frills ;) Gotta emphasize how friendly employees are, they definitely recognize regulars and even my first time there was great! Definitely had to buy some and take it home for my family to try

Stopped for some no frills dinner with some guy friends. The interior isn’t much to look at but the food is good and the price as well. They have grilled meats on a spit behind the counter and you ask for whatever cuts of meat you like. I had bacon covered sausages, sirloin, roast beef and skirt. The skirt was a little dry but still delicious and sausages and sirloin was good. The roast beef was actually my favorite. It was cooking on the spit so I asked for a slightly rare cut and it was beefy delciousness. The hot food bar is great. I don’t know the names of the foods available but there was this vegetable stew thing that you could ladle on to rice which was amazing. The cold food bar was also great. The collard green salad wasn’t seasoned as other Brazilian places I’ve been to but it was still delicious and made me feel slightly better about myself with all the meat I was eating. You pay everything by weight and a good plate came out to around 7 or 8 bucks.

Point Brazil good and tasty. Reasonable. Options. Great service. Clean. What more can I say about Point Brazil. Everything that I like about a restaurant was said in seven key words: GOOD, TASTY, REASONABLE, OPTIONS, GREATSERVICE and CLEAN. Point Brazil is one of the 3 or 4 «Eat By The Pound» restaurants in Astoria. You know the deal: pile the plate with food and pay at the counter. Easy. Now, what set these guys apart from the others are the small things about the experience. Friendly smile. Helpful in assisting customers. Food in smaller plates, pans, etc. to keep temp;(hot food hot and cold food cold), presentation of food(looks good), options(while you have the standards, different options day to day). I GETTHEIMPRESSIONTHEYWANTTHEIRGUESTSTOHAVE A WONDERFULEXPERIENCE. Say whatttttttttt… In all my visits I feel welcome, special and appreciated. I feel they want me to stay and enjoy, oh yes, and come back. Meats are always tasty. My favorite sirloin. Always good and tender. I usually tell the guy give me the whole piece. Why waste time. It is rare, tasty and delicious. Hot and cold food selections to many to list, but if you are a veggie person(plenty of options). They have the standards: salad(4 or 5 items), rice, beans, stews, etc., etc., etc. You can not leave hungry here. There is something for everyone. Point Brazil does a very good job. I know there will be some that will say that they are not as good as «Villa» or the other one on Broadway. To each their own, but I can say that you will find the quality to be better and doing the small things like busing your table while you enjoy your dessert. These guys have good food with great service. Always busing and cleaning. I mean everyone in this place is making sure you feel WELCOME, SPECIAL and APPRECIATED. I will miss you Point Brazil in NJ. Till I visit again:)

I decided to give this place a try after seeing all the reviews. The meat was alright I asked for medium rare it was more medium well. The meat was also very salty. In my opinion I rather spend a little more and have my meat prepared right.

Within it’s group of peers in the immediate vicinity, this is a good option. The selection and variety of the hot and cold buffet is above average, it’s always very clean, lots of Brazilians eating. Now for the not-so-good: they are a bit stingy when it comes to the grilled meat servings and the guy at the grill doesn’t like to answer questions… that’s neither here nor there if the meat was outstanding but it’s just ok. The quality of the beef they purchase is alright, with what they charge you for it, they should source another beef vendor. What is most annoying though is that the rice and beans are bland… these are staples of South American food and they should be very good, better than the other things on the buffet, but they are just passable. Only visit this spot if you can’t make it to a better one and you’re in the immediate area. It’s good but not impressive or memorable. Extra points for the homemade desserts though.

Easily the most authentic Brasilian restaurant in NYC, especially when it comes to north eastern cuisine. Lots of Brasilians eating here so you KNOW it’s forreal forreal. The buffet is fresh and maybe the best deal in the city. They even have a little churrasco«corner» that has plenty of meat options. Your plate is then weighed as you pay per pound. It’s no frills inside as far as décor, but the food is supreme. On Saturdays they make a moqueca with sea bass and if you’ve ever had the real thing, you won’t be disappointed. And if you haven’t had it, this is a perfect place to start. Call ahead as only one cook there can make this dish and she isn’t always there(it’s not included in the buffet). I believe it’s $ 13 for a HUGE plate. They also do acarajé on Saturday, too. Don’t miss the coxinha, either(both are separate items off the menu). Took me right back to Bahia… Staff is v friendly(and Brasilian!). Eu amo este restaurant!

A really good place to stop for tasty food. Costs about $ 8-$ 12, depending on what you get. A buffet, which is weighed by the pound. Separately, you can ask for grilled meats, which will add a few extra bucks to your food. Now, I really enjoy going, but I’m going to be honest and say that although they have an «A» grade from the city, I am feeling that they aren’t as sanitary with their food as they could be. Until recently, I would’ve given them 4 stars, but I witnessed and received — should’ve said something — some cross-contaminated meat last night at the grill station, where cooked meat was placed right where raw beef had just been.(You could see blood on the cutting board.) I find it disappointing because the food is good and they could do better with a little more effort. Next time, please just take the time to get a clean cutting board.

Great place if you are in a rush! Food is buffet style so you can just grab what you’d like, pay and go. The food is also tasty and the people working behind the counter are nice.

First of all, this is not a buffet. It’s sold by pound. Second of all, it’s a bit pricy. Most important of all, the food here is goooooood.

Wow. Best quality(and cheapest) hot food place I’ve been to. $ 6 – 7 per lb. with an excellent and healthy-ish mix. Well done!

Delicious grilled meats! Everything was freshly prepared even though it’s a pound by pound buffet style. I dig the new décor and it makes it really easy to navigate around to get your food efficiently. The staff nice even though there is minimal contact, since most of it is self-service. You go in, grab a seat, pick up a plate, grab some food on it, pay the cashier, and dig in your amazing food. They have a good selection and is balanced out both on meat and veggie options. Please do visit this place. I’m sure it won’t be the first time I come here.

Point Brazil in Astoria offers great Brazilian fare by the pound. They serve hot and cold buffet from breakfast to dinner. The favorites are bacalao with potatoes, olives and peppers, Feijoada and Tropeiro beans. They also offer various grilled meat on a skewer(Churrascaria) such as fraldinha, picanha, sausages and pastries with fresh vegetables salad bar. If you are overwhelmed by the extravagance of a buffet set up, the à la carte menu is available by request. This place is pristine and spacious. The tables are set for the customers to enjoy the outside view. There’s very little interaction with the staff here since you get to grab your own plate, serve yourself and the lovely lady on the counter will weigh it for you. I am a regular at this place as my check-ins can testify.

I was in the neighborhood running an errand and I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. I checked Unilocal and Point Brazil had really good reviews and was close to where I was. The buffet is $ 5.99 a lb. They offered salad fixings, rice, beans, beef, chicken with mashed potatoes and other things as well. For $ 1.00 more per lb, you can get fresh Brazilian meat off the skewer. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it until I loaded my plate up from the buffet. It looked really good so I will be coming back here again. At the register, they even sell coxchina for $ 0.90, which was room temperature and small; nonetheless, it was very tasty.

Yes Yes Yes to Point Brazil. So close to my apt. So reasonably priced. Quick & Easy service. And most of all so so so delicious. The food is fresh and offers a colorful variety of fish, chicken, pork, veggies and other homemade goodies. I have tried many things here and it’s all very good. My fave so far is the salmon! Excellent! A full tray of food could go for $ 10 and change but your tummy will be in food heaven. I cannot comment on the authenticity of the food but I do know Brazilian dishes=meaty goodness and Point Brazil has a great selection of meaty goodness. In addition, everything here is damn good so try it when in the neighborhood.

Ohhhh, yeah. Give me that Brazilian meat! Another awesome Brazilian slicery in Astoria. They were pretty friendly here, guiding me through the barbecue choices. I particularly appreciated the guy cutting the meats, who pointed me to audience favorites: skirt steak, ribs, sirloin, and chicken breast wrapped in bacon. The salad bar offers some eclectic sides, but you are definitely here for the steaming slice of juicy beef, and don’t you forget it.
