This place was such a joke. I remember all the money they put into building the space out, and all the time it took. When it finally opened, the owners acted like it had always been there and they never greeted anyone to drive up any business. The pizza was nothing impressive. When they shuttered about 4 months after they opened, I figured that’s no surprise. Then I saw a notice in the window demanding 3 months rent. Then I remember seeing the staff in there one day cleaning up, and the next day the cook showing up for work just to see the place locked up, some poor Latino dude who I’m sure had been screwed over by them. What kind of stupid Italians can’t get a pizza slice joint going in NYC?

Sadly, the last 2 times I visited this place, it wasn’t up to par. Phones weren’t working to call in an order, some guy sitting behind the counter who I figured out does not even work there(my friend said she experienced this strange guy on her visit too!). There was also a lot of unprofessional banter amongst that non-employee counter guy, a fellow in the kitchen, and the owner. I’m not a prude when it comes to overhearing casual chit-chat, but I’m talking about loud cursing. Not in a hostile way, but in a way dudes talk to each other when they are playing poker in a basement somewhere, not serving a lady stranger dinner. This place is just getting confusing — I still want to like it, and them, but how ’bout getting a sign with the prices on it already? How about filling up that refrigerator in the front with some beverages? The pizza and pasta is still good, if you can wait for it, or if you happen to like the one type of pie they have in the case(usually plain).

Why did I not read the reviews before I ordered. Was so pleased to see a new spot open, but this is. Pimple! The pizza is like those 99cents places in the city, only 4 times the price! $ 4 for a greasy pepperoni slice. No thank you! I give this place 6 months at the most.

I was happy to see a new pizza spot in the neighborhood but what a disappointment. I ordered a regular slice and garlic knots. Both items tasted nasty. The man behind the counter was not even wearing gloves and he was touching everything without cleaning his hands. I will not go back again!!! Stay away from this place.

The ravoli was delicious! Going back again to get the ravoli. This time the bf will try the lasagna. Yummy!

We ordered their whole American pie with garlic and sausage(cost around $ 21). It was really tasty, but pretty oily(which come on – it’s pizza – I’m sure we’ll all live). We fortunately live close, so the pizza was still hot by the time we walked home. It’s a big pie cut with eight slices. I think they are still working out their business, but I would give them a try if you’re in the neighborhood.

HORRIBLE!!! Stay clear! Went in to order a slice of pizza and a salad, as I ordered the salad the owner had no I idea what it what. As I was waiting, a gentlemen that worked there came back with a bag of lettuce. So they did not have any lettuce there — that is not the worse part, as I am watching someone make my salad he was eating the lettuce and never ONCE saw him wash his hands after he just came in from the outside. I walked out and never received the salad. Horrible impression — will never go back! For a new pizzeria, first impressions count. I wouldn’t waste your time here! I give it less than 6 months before it closes down!

Tried their pizza for the first time, horrible! It looked like it was there for hours, heated it up, still came out cold. Not good impression for a pizzeria just opening up. Stick to Rizzo’s on Steinway

I was excited to try this place even just as a change of pace from Mia Pizza down the block. However, I just walked by here and there was a gentleman in a blue hoodie leaning over the cleaned out pizza glass smoking a cigarette in the middle of the store. I won’t be trying it now. Steer clear. Just cause you’re closed doesn’t mean you can just fire up.

Happy to have you in the neighborhood, but please take this into consideration… the pizza was too greasy :(… made the crust very limp.

Local pizza shop to me. Had a regular slice. Crust is tasty and sauce is great. Cheese was not to oily. The seat arrangements are quite bothersome at times tho and customer service is not that feiendly. They don’t have a fridge where you can have a selection to choose a drink besides water. I will define try return when they are more settles and situated and pizza is much better the pizza palace and some other places around them.

This is your typical New York outer borough neighborhood pizza shop. A welcomed addition in the area. I had the regular slice topped with pepperoni and a grandma’s slice. Total was $ 7.25 for both. No menu yet but current prices listed are: Slice — $ 2.50 Sicilian — $ 2.50 Grandma — $ 3.50 Calzone — $ 5.50 American Pie — $ 18.99 Sicilian Pie — $ 19.99 Grandma’s slice: The crust was nice and crispy and the sauce was evenly distributed but could’ve been better with some herbs. The basil sprinkled on top helped a bit. It had a good amount of fresh mozzarela cheese and was enjoyable. Regular Pepperoni slice: The crust also had a nice crispness but the sauce was thinner than the grandma’s and not that evenly distributed under the cheese. There were many bites where I was only eating cheese and bread. It was also extremely oily and soaked through the paper plate as it pooled underneath even before I had a chance to take a bite as I ate this second. Needed many napkins for this one. While this is closer to me and still quite new, I’m sure they have some kinks to work out. Maybe I will try them again when they get more settled.
