I wasn’t a big fan of the pizza. but I keep coming back for ‘The Famous One’ sandwich with chicken cutlet, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, & prosciutto! This is one of my favorite sandwiches in all of NYC. It’s simple and delicious. The portion is large and filling. Bread is fresh and the ingredients in the sandwich are quality ingredients. They have a large variety of deli meats and cheeses along with tons of imported goodies. It’s hard trying to go in & out quickly because you get so tempted to buy everything in there. The location is amazing, right next to the Ditmars stop on the N/Q. Everyone that works there is also wonderful. Highly recommend.

I like this pizza. Sauce makes all the difference. Positioning of the cheese as well.

Their pizza was soooo goooood — easily among the top 5 I’ve had, ever. When we came in they said it would be 10 minutes until we could get a slice, but it was more like 20 minutes — still, definitely worth the wait. They make the sauce and the mozzarella in house, and it shows. I hope to go back soon.

Being a full old school Italian grocery store, Pizza is not their main focus, but it just happens that they serve the best pizza in Queens. I’ve tried many pizzerias in Queens that focus only on pizza and non match Rosario’s pizza. The flavor of each ingredient and proportions are all perfect. The service can be a little slow but always friendly and worth the wait. Add 10−20min to pick-up time estimates provided. Just set your timing expectations accordingly and you’ll be happy.

Had the most incredible Prosciutto di Parma sandwhich of my life here. The life that buzzed inside and the smiles in everyone’s faces made the experience even more memorable. I make a point to go in every chance I get!

I love this place, I just love it. If only any other store was this good with great quality pasta and the great service. I am afraid of the pounds I gain overtime I get something here because I want literally everything. I left Italy years ago and always complained about food here in US(sorry!!) and Rosario’s just motivates me to just cook all day long. Thank you!!!

Best Italian Deli in all of Astoria. The biggest selection of Italian cheese and products. The place is very clean and the service is impeccable. They also have daily specials

I love coming here! It’s like being at a family members home. The quality of the food is almost as good as the quality of the people that work there. The only thing I don’t love is their fresh mozzarella. It’s a little rubbery.

Classic guy classic place get the chicken parm or don’t it doesn’t matter as long as I have enough words for an actual review instead of just a tip

You gotta love the corner Italian grocery store. Even if the rest of the neighborhood has changed drastically over the last few years this place retains the quality old world charm that makes shopping feel like a social experience rather then an assembly line. It’s not the biggest place in the world, and their hours leave something to be desired for the ‘food shopping after work’ crowd, but they have everything you’d need for some quality Italian cooking. Definintly a go-to.

Rosario has been serving Astoria for the last 18 years. This place has great everything from pizza to the grilled chicken. His cutlets are very reasonable in price and taste great. Make sure that you stop here for great food.

ABSOLUTELYLOVETHISPLACE!!! So why four stars??? I would give 4 ½ just because of their hours. They close around 7:30pm, and are closed on Sundays, which I totally understand as this place appears to be family owned and operated. So it’s inconvenient when you want pizza late at night or on football Sunday. I feel bad giving 4 stars, but just being honest in this review. Now to the good stuff… The pizza here is the best in this area hands down!!! Trust me, I live in this neighborhood and my husband and I tried them all! We keep going back for the pizza, but they have other things you can try. The hero’s look delicious, so next time we go we may split one, and a slice of course :-) You can also get Italian and other European products here, just a really cute shop, with great customer service!

What can I say about this place? It’s exactly the kind of spot that makes an Italian girl know she’s living in the right neighborhood. Market has all the Italian specialties you can ask for. Pastas are excellent, cheeses and meats are top-notch. Still need to try the pizza but it looks thin and heavenly. The best part is the people you’re buying it from. Love these guys.

Rosario’s is a staple in my Astoria restaurant rotation, and quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. The pizza is always amazing and the sandwiches are made with legit cold cuts and cheeses that you won’t get in most delis. If you’re in the Ditmars area you should 100% give this place a try.

A bit of a trek for me to make it out to Rosario’s, but it’s worth it! I come here for the imported cheeses, pasta, espresso coffee. They carry taleggio!

Been craving a meatball sandwich for a while but didn’t want to pay ten-eleven bucks to satisfy my need. Finally, went to Rosarios and got the meatball parm on a hero and OMG! The meat, the cheese amd the bread were all one for all of five minutes as I gobbled it all up. And oh, it was only seven bucks. Enjoy!

I have been on the hunt for authentic rice balls and I decided to come here because it was recommended by many Unilocalers. So far, I’ve been here twice for rice balls only. They were fresh; however, I felt that they were lacking in the taste department. The rice balls could use more sauce, cheese and some salt. They cost $ 3 each, but I wouldn’t mind slightly paying more if the taste improved. Nonetheless, I would get it again if I was in a pinch.

Best slice of pizza in NYC. I don’t know what I would do without living so close to Rosario’s. It’s a cute, family-owned business with the highest quality food and products. The pizza and handmade fresh mozzarella are not to be missed. Along with any of the other prepared food. Classic Italian style cuisine that is so fresh and flavorful. Love the food and service. The people behind the counter are always so sweet and genuinely happy to be at work.

Whether it’s the killer pizza or quality cheeses /meats /pastas they make in house, it’s hard to argue the versatility of Rosario’s Deli. The über local vibe, friendly service, and their superior product makes this spot a charming old school gem of Astoria. No one should deprive themselves of the experience, especially those of you who live nearby. For those expecting a banging pizzeria, you’ve come to the wrong place. This is an Italian deli that just happens to offer pizza(among other wonderful edibles) and whatever pizza they have, they will eventually sell out of at the end of the day. That said, it’s not a mind blowing slice but certainly a quality one that beats out most anything in the general radius. The appeal lies in the simplicity of the ingredients — which for these thin crust pies include just a smattering of sauce, cheese, and a delightful crunch to the crust. Both the pepperoni and the plain margherita get my approval anytime. The sandwiches deserve a mention as well. From hot parm to a killer cold Italian combo, they know exactly what they’re doing. The wonderful aroma of fresh bread never ceases to amaze me, especially when combined with fresh mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, and some form of a quality cold cuts. Do not sleep on the chicken cutlet, it is among the most satisfying sandwiches in the borough. Then there are the imported products from Italy. Rosario’s isn’t unique in this regard, but they’ve done a great job of taking the guess work out of everything with the placement and layout within the store. Things are easy to find, prices are reasonable, and I never walk out of here without something wonderful.

Old school Italian deli. They roast the roast beef themselves. Rosario’s also has other prepared food, thin-crust pizzas, and a variety of Italian specialty items. I only wish they had more charcuterie items. In a nutshell, while they don’t have everything they have enough of many things not ordinarily found in supermarkets to keep shoppers coming back.

Rosario’s is by far the best Italian Deli. Before finding out I had to go on a gf diet/lifestyle 3 years ago we used to get sandwiches and go to Astoria Park. This place is amazing! The meats, cheeses breads etc are just so tasty! They use the best quality products. My husband and I stop in from time to time to see if they have added any gluten free breads/rolls/wraps for me but sadly they haven’t added any yet. Everybody Eats in Brooklyn really needs to pitch this place so we gluten free peeps can still enjoy Rosario’s! So many place in Astoria/LIC are getting on the gf thing so I truly hope Rosario’s figure it out soon. They have The Sandwich Bar, NYCBCH, and Bareburger surrounding them and they all offer GF products. That said I need a Rosario sandwich so badly. Ok Rosario’s after watching Orange is the New Black and walking by your shop every weekend– my mouth is watering… Please offer Gluten Free Bread, Rolls, Wraps etc! If you need help souring product I can’t assist you! Please contact everybody eats because they have amazing gluten free bread products and chocolate chip cookies:)

Got a sandwich here this past weekend to take to work on Monday. I kept it easy with just some proscuitto di Parma. They didn’t have a sharp cheese for slicing, so the counterman talked me into their homemade fresh mozzarella, which wasn’t exactly a hard sell as I know it’s great. After selecting my loaf of bread, the counterman was also nice enough to suggest packing the mozzarella and roasted red peppers separately to avoid it turning soggy. Rosario was around as well, as always, but luckily the rest of his staff are just as good. I paid and left to have a great dinner nearby. The sandwich held up great. the proscuitto di Parma was applied heavily and was high quality stuff. The bread was great, as you could expect it to be by their pizza – which is now offered by the pie by the way! The mozzarella was as great as I remember. The roasted red peppers were good, but boy do they use plenty of garlic! I put this thing together on Monday, and boy were my co-workers jealous. With the toppings applied judiciously by yours truly, it was an epic sandwich. It was also easily big enough to save half for the next day, and I am by NO means have a small appetite. The sandwich with everything cost $ 10 and change. If I bought it in Midtown, it would’ve been $ 15, less than half the size, made with cheaper ingredients, and I would’ve gotten a side of shitty service to go with it. I wish I lived nearby here just so I could be a regular. You really can’t beat a place like Rosario’s. Between here and L’Incontro, I’ll be back a lot sooner than last time.
