The white pizza was underwhelming and overpriced. You can find way better elsewhere for four bucks.

Ordered here many times. They have good pizza. Sad part about it is they have shitty ass service. After ordering the last time, the guy taking my order refused to deliver… I dont even live far. I would say im about 8 blocks away. It sucks now because they lost an other customer. They need to change the dude taking the orders.

I ordered pizza and spaghetti and sauce from Seamless. At 12:46PM the email came back saying the order would be here in 30 – 45 minutes. I called at 1:49PM asking where it was(I had called 5 minutes earlier and they said 3 minutes). I called and he said another 5 minutes and it’s now 1:50PM. I am trying to feed a 4 year old their lunch. The manager said I can cancel the order through seamless if I want. We’ve waited this long and he is hungry. I am appalled the manager was this rude. He told me he was to busy to try and locate the delivery guy. I will not be ordering from them ever again or eating in their establishment.

One of my favorite places to order pizza from in Astoria. The pizza gets delivered nice and hot with the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. Thumbs up to this place.

By far the best Pizzeria in Astoria, very cheesy slices and always fresh. The only drawback is that they won’t deliver to where I live, meanwhile other places that from the same area do. Steinway is a very busy strip and if ever around the area I definitely recommend having a slice here.

When they make a fresh pie, the pizza is VERY good(we frequent their mushroom pizza). However, sometimes they take a not-fresh pie and mask it as a «fresh» pie by throwing mozzarella cheese on top and re-heating it(booo!). Lately, we’ve ordered their medium pie(which is always fresh) and that has been very good. Their hot heros as good, but I wouldn’t get the meatball one from them. Chicken parm and eggplant parm are ONPOINT! Their wings are ehhh… pass. Same thing with their pasta dishes. And don’t you even try their«gyros». They use this loose white sauce that they try to pass as tzatziki sauce, gross and disappointing. Garlic knots are good. Just stick with the pizza, parm heros(sans meatballs) and their garlic knots. You’ll be disappointed by the other things(and surprised by the«white sauce» they use on their gyros).

Ordered a Sicilian pizza and got plain cheese one(with thick crust). When I called to complain I talked to a person who did not speak English very well so the conversation did not produce the expected results. We end up eating the overprices cheese pizza which was not that good. The delivery was fast though…

There seems to be an inverse relationship to the cost of a slice of pizza and how good it is. I think it goes something like this: Cost of Pizza Slice x Amount of people buying = Cost of Rent /Profit Per Slice where Cost of Rent is a fixed variable per restaurant. It does seem that a bad pizza place has to raise the cost of their slices in order to make up for the lack of walkin business they get, which further reduces the amount of walk in business they receive which further pushes up prices until you’re left with a place that only tourists would go to and consider the pizza to be good and then the tourists go home and cmoplain about how expensive NYC is because they didn’t know that they went to a bad pizza joint. That being said, a slice of cheese was higher than most places I would go to, and my bill for two slices with 1 topping each and a bottled water came to $ 14. This is definitely not Star Pizza, that place is long gone. Left in it’s wake is a pizza place that should hopefully close because in order to stay in business they will have to fix the price of a slice to an entire months rent so the only customer that comes in for the month will cover their costs. At that point the business model should become unsustainable and whoever it was that bought Star Pizza will be forced out so a real Pizzaili can come in and take over. Moral of the review: This is a terrible«pizza» place. Just continue walking past, you can find something better, guaranteed.

I got a plain slice and a pineapple slice. They weren’t anything to rave about besides the fact that I was full after eating just two(which I can’t say a lot about most pizzeria’s nowadays). I loved how cheesy the slices were but the sauce wasn’t that great. I had high hopes considering they are located on Steinway and they are always going to get a lot of foot traffic. My assumption was definitely wrong. There’s better pizza in the area so after trying Steinway Pizza merely out of curiosity I don’t see myself dining here again.

Uhhhmm. I recently ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce from this place. It was what I call ‘Boyardee Orange’, and tasted as such. No garnishes, no attempt to make it look better than it tasted, just spaghetti with sauce. I tasted no garlic and no herbs. Maybe it was pizza sauce out of a can. Who knows. Did I eat it? Well, I’m Italian, so yes. But I wouldn’t bother with it again.

The mozzarella pizza here should be avoided, more like cottage cheese.

wish it was better — their dough is way overworked and too thick, resulting in a tough chewy crust. The pizza itself can use more flavor as well good service

I like the pizza here. It has enough of everything, especially cheese… lol Try the zeppollies(so not how you spell that) there my favorite. Enjoy =0)

The pizza here is decent, the service is excellent. I often go there to get pizza for my job, after a couple of weeks, they started throwing in a free 2-liter soda and whatnot… very nice guys. I get Rusty a meatball sub from here occasionally and he really enjoys them. They seem a little bit salty to me though. They have steam trays of different lunch items available. Regular pizza stop prices. They’ve got plenty of booths to sit in and enjoy your pizza, and it seems like they have space out back for when the weather is nicer.

Because everyone appreciates a good location-specific rebranding, Star Pizza is now rocking the«Steinway Pizza» moniker. But of course, as a shout out to their legions of fans(or maybe just me…) the A in Steinway is… wait for it… waaaaait for it… oh yeah. A Star. But luckily, nothing has changed besides the awning. The pizza is still top notch. The outdoor garden is still there. And the signs behind the counter still haven’t been changed from their 1980’s esque glory and still of course say Star Pizza. All the changes are superficial, which oddly enough is a compliment. I’m glad you haven’t changed Steinway Pizza. And never lose those awesome vintage pizza joint booths!

Star Pizza is now called Steinway Pizza. It bears a remarkable resemblance to a Sbarro inside. Just like Sbarro, they offer all kinds of simple American-Italian quick dishes like baked ziti, chicken parm, lasagna, penne a la vodka, and so forth. I stuck to the basics and got a slice of cheese with a pepsi. The slice of course tasted better than Sbarro, but I did have slightly higher expectations based on the presumption that it had a strong neighborhood connection and probably has been around for a while. It was nothing extremely special, but a decent slice of NY pizza. My friend had baked ziti and the ziti definitely did not have enough marinara on it. The ziti was big in size but light in weight. The taste was nothing to be excited about. Parking wasn’t particularly difficult on this area of Steinway Street, but it’s limited to 2 hour parking. I just made an impromptu stop at the first pizza place I saw in Astoria, but I know for a fact there are better places to get pizza in this neighborhood. I just can’t remember their names unfortunately.

I agree with everyone else — the pizza is just average; nothing special and no different from most pizza places I’ve been to. But they do have televisions, which is a first. My mushroom pizza probably had less than 8 slices of mushrooms and it wasn’t reheated that well. The staff were kind though and the wait was fast.

Pizza is just okay. Classic parlor a bit, but with steam tables that made me feel a little uncomfortable. There’s just something about steam tables at a pizzeria that is unsettling. It’s better than many, but there are much better in the neighborhood. Por ejemplo, Posito a block away. The crust has a little too much texture and not enough moist for a non-thin slice. Staff is nice and the steam tables seem okay, but still… nothing outstanding. Not even great. Astoria? are you listening?

My favorite pizza place in Astoria. Pizza has the perfect mix of flavorful sauce and crispy crust. Their delivery is fast and efficient, and you can pay with a credit card.
