Inconsistent with hours always out of basic necessities like BREAD. Tonight went to walk in when I noticed a sign that says open 24⁄7. Door was locked. Employee still inside just standing around. He acknowledged me and would not give me an explanation.

I’m not saying you should walk into a chain restaurant and expect exceptional quality and service, but this subways location is the WORST subways I’ve ever been to. The vegetables are soggy and look months old. They usually don’t have all the breads or all the cheese and vegetable options most locations have, and the workers are slow and rude. Most of the sandwiches I got from this location don’t even look edible. The workers just throw in everything onto the bread and hand it to you. Oh and the card machine has been broken for like a year now. If I could give this place no stars I would.

The worst Subway! I frequently travel and look for Subway because of their freshness but this place not only has a little of rude service, the quality of the meat is really nasty and smells old. I was not able to eat it and had to throw it away. This Subway is not up to par with what Corporate represents!

The female workers are typically great however the fact I receive terrible service from the middle-aged man is often off putting and he refuses to give a normal serving of items. Won’t be back.

The older guy and the older chubby short lady that works there are very rude. Not sure if they are owners or managers but definitely needs to read a book on self development. «How to win friends and influence people» is a great recommendation for them. They need to learn to talk well to the customers and not talk in their language while looking at you because I know they are talking about me; common sense. I already called corporate and told them a few things.

There is a man that works in the evenings on weekdays and weekends. He will rush you while you wait to decide what you eat. Give you attitude when you ask for something that is not in the food bar but hidden in the fridge(ie spinach and shredded cheese). Overall THEWORST customer service I’ve experienced at a Subway. Machine to charge cards almost never works. He does not alert people until the very end so there have been times when I have ordered several sandwiches and waited till the end for him to tell me he can’t charge my card. He also closes the store earlier than anticipated. His store hours state midnight on his door and online but I have stopped by at 10:30 to find it closed on several occasions. He will also stand outside the store, lock the door, and take a cigarette break while people are outside waiting in a line for him to finish because no one else is in the store. Never has spinach, shredded cheese, or any of the newer ingredients for sandwiches. I have lived in this neighborhood for over 25 years and this is by far the business with the worst reputation on Steinway. I know people know what guy I am talking about since there are other people leaving reviews on this guy.

It really is disappointing that this is the closest Subway to me. It’s like the Wild Wild West in there, absolutely no rules. Does their soda machine work? Are they open? Did they drop the bread on the floor? Do they have the bread you want? Are they accepting cards today? Always a mystery. This is the second time I’ve gone in this week and it has been closed much earlier than the times posted on the door. The last time they were actually opened when I went by and mentioned it to the guy that’s always working at night and he argued with me about it and then conceded the point with«oh it’s probably because it was cold». Oooohhhhh ok, well I had to walk in that cold to find out you were CLOSED because you can’t seem to abide by the posted times. The last two times I’ve gone they’ve said their card machine was down(10 days apart) and luckily my gf had cash otherwise we would’ve left empty handed. The soda machine is wretched and looks like it has never been cleaned or serviced and the diet coke is the pits. Lastly, on a visit or two ago, they didn’t have anymore honey oat(lunch time) and when the guy reached in for the bread he dropped a foot long on the floor and walked passed the trash can to set it on the counter. Safe to assume that bread went right back in the bread holder when I walked away.

This is a no-frills Subway, but the service is efficient, the bread is fresh and the staff is friendly, with the exception of the guy who is either the owner or the manager. If I see him inside, I go to the other Subway down the block.

I actually didn’t have any problems with this Subway located right on Steinway. If you’ve been to one Subway then you’ve been to them all, for the most part. Clean location, friendly staff, and quick service.

Horrendous, They purposefully don’t stock the more expensive(and more nutritious) toppings and keep telling me(every time I go) That they just ran out and an shipment in coming in soon. When I asked them if they carried the ingredient at all in that location they just looked at me and pretended to not understand what I was saying. So Shady. Avoid this place as much as you can. If you’re coming from the gym or looking for a healthy food go to That’s a Wrap. It’s right underneath the NYSC and they have more of a variety and actually carry the ingredients they claim to.

If the girls are in there(sisters) I don’t have a problem with my order. Otherwise there’s always an issue. Best thing they got is the pizza and that’s if they have the mozarella cheese in stock. Not the best Subways in Astoria; but the closest.

Just like any other Subway Sandwich Stores EXCEPT they are always out of toppings. A different excuse is used every time but it is interesting how when people change their mind about getting a sandwich suddenly they go to the back and actually find the toppings they are out of. So in summary: very poor customer service, standard sandwich.

Grab your gas masks! Stock up on canned goods! Rubble, social decay, orphans wandering the streets and marshall law are all around the corner. The decline of Western Civilization may be inextricably linked to the decline of arts and it began yesterday — with these here Sandwich Artists. It went like this. Me: I’ll have a six inch on toasted honey 9 grain, turkey… Subway: Huh? What? Me: I’ll have a six inch on toasted honey 9 grain, turkey… Subway: Why doncha just get a foot-long? Me: I don’t want a foot long. Subway: Oh.(Stares blankly, proceeds to create sandwich) Me: Oh yeah, but I wanted that toasted I said. Subway: :Inaudible babble:(toasts bread and proceeds to add lettuce) Me: Um, sorry, but you didn’t ask. I don’t want lettuce. Subway: :bewildered eyes: oh, ok. It went on like that for a while. 6000 seconds later I had my sandwich. Soon it will be difficult to distinguish a Visigoth from a Roman. Hold on to your hats.

I guess this weekend they brought in the subs(pun intended) Like watching 3 Lucille Balls take up the sandwich art gig. Tongue in cheek, I watched as my disaster of a sandwich was made. i’m usually used to the efficient assembly line at Subways, «artist» #1 asks what kind of bread and slices it up, #2 adds cheese and toasts, #3 fixes the meat and toppings. Wait 5 minutes for one of them to get some more American cheese? weeeeeird. She left my chicken breasts heating up in the microwave…“oh shit the chicken breasts!” «mister do you still want that cheese???» I have to admit, despite my sandwich appearing more as «abstract» art as far as sandwiches go, I got a laugh or two out of it. There’s no way this place was passing an inspection on this day. Two stars — I’ve experienced better as far as subways goes. I’ll have to try back again when they’re dad’s come back to finish the shift.
