The prices initially through me off but I found a cheap burger and figured it be small since I didn’t order the more expensive ones. Wrong. It was huge! The fries didn’t even need ketchup(and I come from a place where ketchup is mandatory). I was beyond stuffed. I ordered the bbq burger platter(bbq, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, side of coleslaw, pickle, fries) and a chocolate shake. With tax and more than 20% tip it was less than $ 20.

My friends and I came here last night for a late night snack. The restaurant was empty so we were happy to have the booths to ourselves. Only one friend was placing a large order, the rest of us were hoping for a cup of coffee or tea with a dessert or light snack. We placed our orders and the waitress came back to tell us the manager stated there is a 5 dollar minimum per person ordering. Normally, I wouldn’t have minded about this policy but it almost felt as if they didn’t want us there, since I have been here before on another late night and this was not the case. We did not want to stay where we were not wanted so we walked away disappointed and frustrated. Will not be getting my service again too many other great and welcoming late night spots in Astoria.

I REALLY wanted to give this place a higher rating. Came here at 11:30pm with the boyfriend after desperately looking for places that were open on Unilocal.(Tastee is open 24⁄7.) It had 3 stars, but because we were hungry and breakfast food is my weakness, we decided to give it a shot. We got a chocolate milkshake($ 4.50), 2 lumberjack specials($ 9.95), and a side of home fries($ 3.50.) 1. Our chocolate shake was warm. The boyfriend and I always order a chocolate shake at EVERY diner we eat at, and among the many that we’ve tried, we’ve had a few duds – not chocolatey enough, not thick enough, etc. But Tastee’s? It was NOWHERE near cold enough to be called a chocolate milkshake and within minutes(!!!) it turned into what was basically an expensive, tepid glass of chocolate milk. Couldn’t finish that. 2. The french toast here is MAGICAL. I took one bite without any syrup, just butter, and holy shit sticks, it was possibly the most delicious french toast I’ve ever had. Cinnamon? Brown sugar? I have no idea, but it’s god’s work and I’m not going to question it. 3. I was looking at a few Unilocal reviews of the place while waiting for our food, and I saw a picture of some girl’s pancakes burnt to a char on the bottom. Out of curiosity, I lifted his when his pancakes came out, and idk what I was expecting but yeah, the bottoms were burnt pretty badly. I make french toast and pancakes at home and they’re supposed to be a perfect golden brown color. The bottom of his pancakes were black. My Lumberjack was a 5⁄5 in taste, but his was a 3⁄5. He couldn’t really enjoy his food. Eggs, ham, and sausage were on point though! 4. He ordered home fries. Said it didn’t taste like much and really went ham on the salt and pepper. TLDR: 5 stars would merit the perfect diner, and unfortunately, this isn’t it. I would have given Tastee’s a solid 4 based on my french toast, but the warm chocolate shake and my boyfriend’s burnt pancakes knocked it down to a 3. Maybe we’ll give it another shot, but our first experience just wasn’t the best.

I’ve been coming here for almost 30 years. Excellent simple food at affordable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. Best breakfast in Astoria! If you hang out here long enough you might learn to speak some Greek. The owner Kostas is a very nice guy who goes out of his way to treat his customers right. If you’re in Astoria check this diner out.

Lives up to its name. Great French toast. Their Tastee Omelet is something special. Normally I avoid places with a B rating in the window when I come to NYC but I’m glad we had breakfast here.

Tiny cute café, perfect for a cheap eat. You get a pretty decent amount of food and the staff is very attentive. The menu is sort of all over the place but what do you expect from a small neighborhood diner? I got the veggie portobello panini. Pretty bland but asked for hot sauce and it spiced it up a bit.

By far the best«Greek Diner» in Astoria. Every dish that I had ever tried and sampled was excellent of taste. Prepared and plated in a fun way which makes going out to eat special. Large portions. Perfect for any meal at any time…

I dig, to a point. Pros: Open 24 hrs, standard diner fair, decent staff, mostly fresh pastries. Cons: Skimpy on menu selections that don’t feature bread, milk or fried meat. I get it — a traditional diner doesn’t need to cater to the health conscious. But, damn — Igloo’s fresh, varied salads and smoothies take care of me without a problem. Why aren’t THEY open 24 hrs?

Never a bad meal! Every time I come here the staff is great, the food is excellent and the prices are better than you’d expect! If you have the chance to eat here, I recommend the Irish Bacon Burger. Add a slice of cheese and you won’t be sorry! Magnificent! I usually came overnight and the waitress was so nice. The evening crew is just as good! Can’t wait to come back!

24 hours. Great brownies and muffins. Food? Eh. Mediocre at best. They have turkey bacon, +1. But they use that awkward, dry roll with powder on it as the bread. Ruins the entire sandwich. Plus, no ooey gooey melty processed cheese, which is 25% of the egg and cheese sandwich. (Turkey) bacon egg and cheeses are a science, and Tastee corner has failed. I’d never ever order from here by choice, only by convenience, say. 3AM munchies? NOT a bad place, this is NOT a negative review. I just don’t think this place is anything special. Maybe others do.

Do not order delivery from this place. i ordered a bacon and cheese omelet for delivery. What arrived was a large portion of breakfast potatoes and literally 1 very undercooked, runny egg.(This is probably about the 4th time between me and my roommate combined that a delivery order from here has been incorrect) I called the restaurant and spoke to someone who was nice enough, apologized and said a new order would be brought to me. I asked if I should give the incorrect food back and was told, ‘Yes’. Twenty minutes later the delivery man arrived, threw the food in my hands, I tried handing him the food I was told to give back and he said, ‘I can’t take your garbage’. 100% never ordering from here again.

Was hungover and didn’t have the capacity to check Unilocal for star ratings. Tastee was closest, open, and had what I was craving. Bacon, scrambled egg, and cheese sammy on a roll… kind of meh. Honestly didn’t have that much flavor to it… in a really weird way. I’m thinking the better option would have been to order a friend egg. Scrambled wasn’t cutting it. as the eggs were soft and mushy… opposed to being light and fluffy, or scrambled hard. Maybe also better to have written ‘scrambled hard’ in the requests section. Ample portion of corned beef hash. A tad salty. But good. Really good sausage. Not patties, but true links, grilled well, and very flavorful. Best part of the meal. Might try again… though might also suck it up and call Neptune even when I don’t feel like talking to a human being.

Tastee Corner has redeemed itself. I wrote my original review with great trepidation since we were regular customers. I even took their number out of my phone. But, after the owner, Kostas, responded to my review I decided to give them one more chance. The improvements are notable. We have ordered several times without incident, and we have received courteous, professional service every time. The food has improved, and I have added their number to my phone once again. Thanks, Kostas, for listening and, more importantly, acting in a positive way.

It was a nice place, the food was good, but I feel there are other better dinners around. The capuccino was not great. It was the powder type I can make at home. Sorry I would come back.

I really like this place. It is chill and private even by the subways. I really like the eggplant panini here and it has a nice cozy environment. When I seek comfort food I come here and I think of this place. I hope enjoy more food here.

3.5 stars. So I’ve been to this place couple times already, first for brunch and second for a late night dessert… The brunch experience was so-so, overall I really liked the coziness of this place, as well as the fact they are open 24/7, but the service part was a bit awkward(the chef that blamed the waitress that blamed the chef for missing part of my order. Good thing nobody blamed me :)). Now the real tasty corner(hehe) in this place is the pastry display. I do feel like some of their stuff might be not super fresh(as I see the same things there day after day) but the Napoleon cake I’ve got was fantastic! Super fresh, super delicious!

My experience was disappointing. Considering I’ve heard a few good things. It seemed like they were having a rough day by the look of frustration on the staffs face. But nevertheless that isn’t an excuse to be very rude and ignore your customer while to trying to request something else because my friends food was burnt. I dont care how affordable, I’d never return. This is an excuse of a diner.
