THEBESTTEAINNYC! Their tea is different from any conventional tea places. I ordered taro milk tea and my bf oolong tea with signature cream. They were both phenomenal! Taro was different from typical taro bubble tea and oolong tea was so rich and creamy!!! Their bubbles are small in size so it’s not as filling as other places. LOVEDIT! Will definitely be back :)

This is the only GENUINEBUBBLETEAPLACEINASTORIA. Seriously, bubble tea aficionados, walk down 32nd street until you hit 34th avenue and turn left. They’re on the same block as fat cat pizza(another gem). You won’t regret it! You’ll forget all about Ten Ren in Chinatown, flushing, and Elmhurst. Your terrible memories of Vivi bubble tea on Ditmars Boulevard will just dissipate into neuronal ash. GOHERE. If you’re a student and your ID from your college is currently valid — there’s a 15% off discount. Let the person serving you know while you’re handing them your student ID. On weekend mornings they have dough donuts! JUSTCOMEHERE. My absolute favorite things to order here are: the hot black milk tea with their signature cream(no bubbles) and the iced hibiscus flower peach white tea with no bubbles!!! I like how quaint and tiny they are, I like the workers, and I like the music playing overhead. Do yourself the greatest favor you will ever do for yourself in this down economy ANDCOMEHERE.

Well… This is a long due review. I was at the opening of Tea+Milk. I have tasted the best tea so far, I mean it has been awhile and I am a fan of tea and coffee. Best tea so far in NYC from Brooklyn to Manhattan, umm… Only in Queens! must try y’all!

I loved this place. If I’m ever in Astoria again, I will stop by here for another Hibiscus Peach White Tea. I tasted both the hot and the cold version and don’t know which one I liked better.(I believe each drink was less than $ 5 and it’s a pretty big portion). If you so chose, you can also add jelly to the tea for an additional 50 cents. The décor is really nice, but the icing on the cake is the Polaroid that you can request. Just ask the barista to take a picture and you can leave with delicious tea and a picture of your time at Tea and Milk.

3.5! This is a nice place to grab a quick bubble tea or regular tea for that matter. I had the Hibiscus-Flower Peach White Tea and it was very refreshing. My girlfriend grabbed a coffee and it was average. Seating is very limited so this place is better for grabbing on the go. That said, if you do have the chance to grab a seat they do have some fun boardgames like Jenga and Trivial Pursuit. I could see myself stopping by again!

So I have to say this place has me sold! I am officially addicted. I came for the first time two weeks ago and have gone at least 7⁄8 times at this point and literally going back right now haha. This bubble tea spot is one of the best places I have been to in Queens. The set up and décor is extremely cute and very cozy. It just screams young, innovative and passionate! I walk in and wanna read all the black boards because of the colors and so curious to know everything on the menu. The staff is great, very friendly and efficient. They make people feel very comfortable in the space. I love the roasted oolong tea, by far my favorite and go to drink. I love the signature cream, highly recommend. My second favorite is the coco milk tea… Omg it is amazing! The taro milk tea has actual taro in it which is awesome. The jasmine green tea is very nice. The price is decent about 3 to 5 dollars depending on the size of the drink. Also try the desserts the donuts are amazing! I bought a almond one and a chocolate one and both were so delicious! Please go try this place out. I love this place! You won’t regret it! :)

I. Love. Them. So. Much. The tea, the signature cream, the staff, the vibe, the baked goods, especially the red velvet cookie that has just the right amount of cream filling. I also love how much tea and milk is part of the community and supports other Astoria businesses. Love them!!!

I highly recommend genmaicha with signature cream, the combination is amazing. I’ve tried several other drinks, such as, hibiscus, grandmama chai, etc. but as of right now, I cannot stop the cravings for Genmaicha with signature cream. The customer service is great and the ambiance is calm. The music is trendy and PG which is good for kids(at the times I’ve visited). The tea is QUALITY. Their signature cream is the best!

Fresh, clean, and I can taste the tea. If I can taste the tea, I like the place. Some bubble tea places just tastes like pure sugar or milk. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come to Tea and Milk but if I was in Astoria I’d definitely drop by. The sell Dough donuts here too! They offer a student discount too(just show your ID)

I have been to a LOT of bubble tea/boba places. And I mean a LOT. From California to Arizona to Illinois to New York and Florida, I’ve tried to taste as many different shops as I could. I have to say that Tea and Milk is by far one of the best! Quality: A+ I got an ice coffee because I’m working from home on a Saturday and I need that little boost. It was only $ 2 for a large ice coffee and it was delicious! Perfectly mixed with milk and sugar and had just enough of a caffeine bump to get me energized, but not too much that I felt sick. My friend got their black tea signature cream, and it was SO good. I’ve had similar creamy drinks at other places and it was always a little too heavy or sweet. Either way, other places’ foam didn’t mix well with the tea. Tea and Milk got their recipe right! It really is the perfect bubble tea. Price: A+ No over priced $ 6 tea drinks like you’ll find at Kung Fu or places in Flushing! Everything was incredibly reasonable for the amount of drink you get. Environment: A+ The tea shop is warm but not too overheated. It’s clean and has plenty of long shareable tables where you can chat and make new friends. They have an extension table glued to the wall so everyone has an outlet they can use. The music is nice and cheerful holiday music for the season, but it’s not blaring and headache-inducing. Service: A++++ Whoever was working on December 5, 2015 at 3PM, you are so sweet! The workers here are really nice, kind, friendly, and super cute. It’s really nice to go somewhere where people are not only happy to help, but open to having an actual conversation. I’ve been to too many bubble tea places(and places in general) where employees are more interested in talking to each other than to the customer. Cheers, I’ll be back soon!

This is easily one of my favorite places to get Bubble Tea. Make sure you get their Signature Cream! It is not something to be missed. When you do get it, … and you will…, you’ll notice that they’re layered. IMO theres two ways to enjoy this, each layer separately or completely shaken. Do the best of both worlds try each layer then mix it!

Thanks Tea and Milk for introducing me to my first legit taro milk tea experience. I was expecting one of those powder flavored shenanigans and was happy to find that real taro tastes a lot like cream of wheat. Which might sound like a bad thing, but it so isn’t. No need for the bubbles when it’s thick like breakfast cereal. It’s a great place to have in Astoria! The peeps were nice and made my tea with love. The café was strangely warm and I’m thinking about going back on a cold day. I think that’d be so cozy. Plus they have a few board games. There is just one table, so it’s more of a grab and go place, but my friends and I went on a slow day and were able to sit and play trivial pursuit for an hour or so peacefully.

So all I can say is I’ve had plenty of tea with herbal jelly that despite me saying little flavor or sugar are just over the top and I feel less healthy trying to get a good dose of daily tea. Tea and Milk came through entirely solid with Fuji Green Apple tea with chia it is so perfect. Literally I got half sugar and that is super light which means even if you didn’t get light sugar it would be perfect! Now I’m obsessed and who would have thought I love a flavored tea drink? And they have insane cookies here.

I wish I should could have found this place sooner. Talking about the best Boba tea. If you want to have a Boba tea craving come to tea and milk in Astoria Queens As I walked in I was greeted with the most friendly customer service. Talk about committed service. They treated me like I was important. And that is awesome. The place is very clean and comfortable. With lots of pictures of their success, to flowers and fragrance of sweet Boba tea. Real Boba tea The wonderful worker was very knowledgeable about the products and had a wonderful attitude. Mathew Wong works with a passion with no details missing. Now for the start of the show Here’s what makes this place special. They make fresh ingredients. With no powder in sight. I tried through roasted oolong tea with tapioca and aloe Vera. And it was nothing I ever tasted in a Boba tea spot in Chinatown Manhatten or Queens. The difference is very evident. This Boba tea was the real deal. The Boba tea was not to sweet and the Boba was just right. This place using nothing but the freshest ingredients. I am happy to say I finally found my Boba tea fix. Thank you tea and milk for making this experience the best experience ever.

My friend mentioned this place and said goods things. I happened to walk by yesterday and glad I stopped and grabbed a bbt. The customer service was excellent. The lady helped me pick a bbt. I ordered a Roasted Oolong Tea with signature milk and tapioca. Being from Toronto, and having lived in Hong Kong and Vancouver, I am a total bbt princess and have really high standards. The tea was perfectly milky, thanks to the signature milk addition. Though I’m not sure what is so signature, I’ll need to find out. It had notes of oolong tea, though I think I would like try that stronger and more concentrated. Some people might like it as is. I asked for ½ ice. It was perfect. I also liked that it was not overly sweet. Let’s talk about the balls. I like that they soak the balls in a sweet syrup so that they treasure sweet. Though, the texture was almost perfect. It could be cooked a little bit more inside. They also have Dough donuts in the shop :) Summary: Standard bbt prices. Very good bbt. Definitely will be back, in fact, I can’t wait!

I first discovered these guys about a year ago doing their bubble tea thing at both the Astoria and LIC flea markets and was hooked immediately. Sure you can you stick to your generic places that do all powder based teas for relatively cheaper prices, but this place offers something different. Each tea is craft and uses distinct ingredients so you really taste them fresh. The menu here is smaller only because they specialize in what they offer.(At least they make it easier for indecisive people like me usually staring and debating forever over 3 dozen typical favors). – Original Taro — Oh so this is how it normally tastes without the fake lavender purple powder. Ordered this top top off my dinner and didn’t disappoint. – Lemon Zested Orange Black Tea — Super citrus flavor but would recommend the below 2 on a really hot day… – Fuji Apple Chia Green Tea – Hibiscus Peach White Tea — Still my personal favorite so far. Really refreshing! Oh and FYI besides the bubble tea, they also offer Viet coffee, cookies and banh mi on their menu! Shout out to Mathew W. if you’re reading this!

After my earlier review and how it was nuts and just kind of meh. I got a message from one of the owners with an offer to try again risk-free. I went a few weeks later when it was a lot quieter and definitely not as hectic. I ended up getting the hibiscus with chia-but they were out of chia and I was recommended the grass jelly instead. The lady also got an iced coffee which was also gratis. She enjoyed hers and I really did enjoy my hibiscus tea. I went back again recently to try the green tea this time and it was pretty good-they had chia but I think I prefer the hibiscus or the oolong better. Definitely a quick response and it is definitely worth a visit.

Welcome to the hood, Tea + Milk! Already a big hit with locals from their exposure at LIC and Astoria Flea, Tea + Milk committed to the Astoria neighborhood and fan-base with a brick-and-mortar location just a couple blocks from the Broadway or 36th Ave N/Q station. Quality is their stated focus, and from my experience they try their best to stick to it. I’ve tried a handful of teas, all of which are very, very strong. So if you like your tea less strong, add more milk and sugar to even it out. Personally, I like it strong, and have enjoyed the roasted oolong(good hot, but deliciously refreshing cold with milk), taro(fresh, lives up to the hype), and the hibiscus peach white tea. The hibiscus white tea is very refreshing on a hot day — I foresee myself getting more of it as the days continue to get hotter. It’s quite good with aloe. Their taro is quite unique and worth trying. Clearly bubble tea drinkers have been deprived of fresh taro and are accustomed to powdered, Barney-purple versions of the flavor. So the fresh taro(fresh to the point of finding yourself chewing on taro chunks in your drinks!) is greatly appreciated. They also serve delicious baked goods from City Bakery and two variations of the Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches. I tried their classic banh mi for the first time over the weekend, and it was freakin delicious. Quite unusual for a banh mi in that a spread of pâté was the main flavor agent, and they managed to pull it off without the pâté overwhelming the rest of the sandwich. Yum. I will be back for more. Price wise, it’s not quite as affordable as you might think given its location. Especially if you add a topping, chances are you’re looking at over $ 5 for your cup of tea. A carefully crafted, made-with-love, customized to your level of sugar preference, topped with decadent cream if you wish, cup of tea. Owners are quite nice, I’ve chatted with them a handful of times. Always friendly, courteous, willing to discuss new ideas for the place. When they first opened there were a few kinks, they didn’t have the banh mi sandwiches and some of the toppings for the teas for a while, but now they’ve settled on earlier hours(7am weekdays!) and seem to be getting into a groove. I’m glad to have them a few short blocks away.

The people behind Tea and Milk, previously a booth at the LIC Flea, really put some love into the making of their drinks. After a hiccup of an experience at the LIC Flea location, the owners invited me to the grand opening of their first brick and mortar in Astoria, accessible from Steinway St, 36 Av, and Broadway stations. The grand opening day was packed and it took forever plus some to get our drinks, but that’s expected on the first day, especially when 50% off is being offered. Each tea is brewed with a fresh tea bag and made to order — partly why it takes so long to get your drink. This is one of the special things about Tea and Milk that you won’t find most other places — they have certain temperatures for their water depending on the tea(I noticed this). No powders here, that’s for sure. They use fresh tea and half and half(or almond/soy with a fee). Their infamous taro milk tea is made with real taro that has to be cooked to perfection(they ran out, sadly, so I couldn’t have it) and is mixed with real tea, whereas other places just use straight powder. While the drinks are on the more expensive side($ 4 – 4.75 for a cold«prime» drink), it’s worth it for a quality drink. I tried the green apple chia green tea with tapioca this time, after already having had the signature taro drink. I asked that it be less sweet, but it came out literally not sweet at all(as did my friend’s black milk tea) — would love to see«levels» of sugar to choose from. The tapioca was also slightly under done, probably due to the sheer volume of customers from the grand opening. The tea was strong and was refreshing with a slight hint of green apple, but not too much to the point where it tastes artificial. They outsource pastries and baked goods from City Cakes– oh my goodness that red velvet cookie — filled with cream cheese frosting! At $ 2.49, it’s so, so worth it. The red velvet cupcake and the strawberry shortcake cupcake looked delicious as well. So glad to see Tea and Milk’s success in the Queens community — cheers to the new store!
