Brand new and situated right next to the infamous Rosario’s Deli, this place is hard to miss for its seemingly perfect location right next to the subway. It’s about time this section of Ditmars had a Starbucks alternative for a sit and a sip. The countless Greek cafes around every corner are a dime a dozen. Hence, this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The new digs showcase the place well. It’s clean and comfy with plenty of spacious seating in the back. Décor wise this place has the feel of a lounge(except with a coffee emphasis?). Since it’s summertime, they prop their doors open for a little outdoor exposure and as Astoria residents /visitors come down the station stairs, they’re sure to notice this place. I have tasted better food on the other hand. So far their panini’s have been a bit too dry and hard for my taste and the salads have been a little disappointing. The Steak Frittas and Grilled Salmon are a good value($ 11.95) and are prepared fairly well. I like the 10oz Beef Burger, though it was a really bland during my last lunch outing. I also can vouch for their bagels, all reasonable prices from $ 1.50-$ 4.95 depending on the topping. Don’t expect them to be better than nearby Rosario’s or the other Bagel joints around the corner. I can see they’re trying to iron out the kinks. Service has been for the most part welcoming, but often times it has been slower here than I remember. They still manage to put smiles on their customer’s faces, its probably likely I’ll come back here again.
