One of my favorites spots so far after Black Tree for brunch. They have amazing coffee and you have to try their granola. Their sandwiches are a little on the spicy side but if that’s your taste they are yummy too ! Priced to sell and amazing food and staff

Ice coffee in mason jars! Oooh, nice touch! It has a marvelous loft life previous factory feel. I love the weird shape that this coffee spot has. The menu comes to you on a clipboard, and it has a great date vibe or catch up with a friend spot feel. It is pricy, but this is Astoria, so I’m not surprised. I wish they had more variety of dinner meals on their menu. I know – it’s a café, but still I felt hungry after my soup. The waitstaff is nice, and you are able to walk in and have a seat at a long communal table.

Had a lazy lunch here this morning. Delish grilled cheese on Brioche. That paired with the tomato soup was so good. Coffee was fantastic too.

I frequent this place for their outstanding pourover coffee, but my experience there for food was quite different. For some reason, my table’s entrée order didn’t go through properly, so when we were asked if we were ready for dessert after having our appetizers in front of us for half an hour, it was saddening to be told our order was just sent to the kitchen again. I’m a patient person, but I had ordered a pot-pie as an entrée, with a puff pastry on top, which needs proper time to bake. Within 7 minutes of having our orders resubmitted to the kitchen, our food came out, but unfortunately for me(my friend had the tomato soup which was good), the puff pastry on the pie was raw on the bottom, and the overall flavor within the pie was bland. The appetizers were ok, but a bit overpriced for their portion sizee At least the coffee was good.

***5 stars for the FOOD: thumbs up for the grilled cheese sandwich! ***4 stars for the VIBE: cozy and relaxing ***3.5 stars for the DRINKS: minus 1 star because my Matcha latte didn’t have latte art like other people. Not only that, it looked like someone’s leftover drink… It tasted not bad though. Coffee was not impressive. ***2 stars for the SERVICE: My server was friendly. However, my order was forgotten and I was never able to find him without going to the bar area and pulled him out from chatting with other staff. And staff, I suggest to lower your volume of chatting. It was louder than music… ***2 star for the CLEANLINESS: layers of bread crumbs, and small peaces of salad leaves were stuck in the gap of table and wall… You can do better than this!!!

This place is really a great find in Astoria. I met some friends here and we were able to have a quiet dinner in a fun, sleek atmosphere. The tables have tall stools, so beware for anyone with back issues, but I found them comfortable. Between the 3 of us, we split 2 flights of beer. They have some super unique beers(the IPA in particular is delicious), so I recommend that if you want to order a pint, as to try them first because some of them are quite adventurous… We also split the popcorn and the peppers, both of which were absolutely delicious. You certainly can’t find the peppers like that on any menu in the city. They were NOT spicy for the most part, although there are a couple hidden in each serving that have a strong kick. I got the risotto for the meal, and it was hearty and delicious. The food was truly delicious! It is a bit expensive for what it is overall, but I would definitely return here!

Came in for a quick bite. Did not know this place is a vegetarian spot. I am a carnivore and after many tears and emotional breakdowns of not finding any meat on the menu, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which came with a bowl of tomato soup. The sandwich was great the tomato soup was a bit tart but not bad at all. It was only $ 9 which was great. I also got the iced latte with soy which was excellent. I probably will come back for just coffee after I eat a big ass burger somewhere else.

Two of four meals were warm. Seasonal vegetables = Brussels sprouts only, and though I like Brussels sprouts, we expected maybe one or two more things in our seasonal veggies and eggs. My matcha latte was delicious though, as were the regular and gluten-free toasts. Service was desperately slow, even after the rush died down, though friendly and accurate throughout.

Cute hipsterish interior with friendly service. Came with some friends for brunch and we were not disappointed! not the biggest place, so not good for big groups Gouda grilled cheese: wow… REALLY good. love the cheese. very rich and tasty Avocado toast: this was really good too. if you like avocados, def try this. scrambled eggs were very well made too Layered potato cake: taste is good. and i liked the crispy top layer with the creamy well seasoned layers of potato underneath. Food was bomb! Price: a bit expensive for the food type/amount they give But i would def go again because the food was really delicious!

I came here with a coworker for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I love this place and have been to it a couple of times. The setting is rustic with some communal tables for seating as well as tables perfect for groups of four or six. I love that there are hooks under the table for people like me who wear thousands of layers and carry around large bags. I have never waited more than 10 – 15 minutes for seating which is amazing in Astoria during weekend brunch hours. I love the kitchen sink salad which when I came a while back had a blend of seasonal vegetables and love the gouda grilled cheese with the black bean hummus, guava jam and pickled jalapenos. A perfect blend of hot and sweet! This particular visit my coworker and I shared french toast that was topped with fresh sliced pears, cinnamon, honey and walnuts and the Rancher’s Eggs dish which included Jalapeño cornbread, guacamole, pico de gallo, sunny eggs. The jalapeño cornbread had the perfect amount of spice and a sweet flavor with bits of corn in it that was complemented nicely by the black beans, guac, pico de gallo and eggs. I enjoyed the drip coffee which I must warn is very strong but delicious and the Agua de Astoria reminiscent of a mimosa but actually cider with orange juice that is included as part of the 18 dollar prix fix menu. The only thing that happened during this visit that was disappointing was that our food was actually served to the couple next to us that had just ordered their food and happened to have ordered the same exact thing we did. We spoke to the waiter about the matter and he apologized for the mix up and assured us our food would be coming out shortly which it did. Great place for an intimate brunch date with friends or a date. Not recommended for meat lovers since there is no meat on the menu. As a near vegetarian this makes me very happy, but if you are craving meat to cure a weekend hangover look elsewhere:)

The service: Keeping in mind that I went when there were very few people, I will say that the service was really good. All staff are approachable and are professional. The drink: If you love cider, this place is definitely for you. The have a ton of different, interesting, ciders on draft. The place is just fine for craft beer lovers as well. The food: If you are a meat lover, this is not the place for you. The establishment is actually vegetarian. If you are okay with that, the food is pretty delicious. Verdict: will definitely return

I’m a big fan of their tomato soup and grilled cheese combo($ 9 regular, $ 10.50 with gluten-free bread). Their gluten-free bread goes perfect with soup, thick and crusty with a soft center. The space is cute though I have to admit I’ve never ventured in the back even though I’ve been there twice now. The service is fine, but a little confusing at first since it’s one of those seat yourselves and someone will come to you eventually type places. I went during Cider week and they had a great selection of draught, bottle and glasses. I tried the Spyboro Hidden Star cider on draught and it was delicious. A bit on the sweeter side but paired nicely with the saltiness of the food.

Queens kickshaw is the ultimate rainy day, comfort food, «I wanna stuff my face with cheese and joy» restaurant. Coming here will instantly make your day cheesier and much happier. The décor here is very earthy and laid-back which I love and the menu really is perfect for a comforting lunch. My friend and I split two sandwiches and the Mac and cheese because obviously we wanted to try as many things as possible. I went for the Gouda sandwich, it sounded really interesting paired with black bean hummus, guava jelly and jalapeño. I mean, guava jelly?! Cheese and fruit jellies are always a good thing. The other we tried was the Gruyère which came with caramelized and pickled onion. The Gruyère turned out to be the unexpected winner. The flavors went perfectly together and we loved the crusty bread. I will say that the Mac and cheese they serve could be creamier. They would do better if it was served in a homestyle way instead of the baked version which makes the Mac a little dry. Either way, I loved lunch here and want to come back for dinner since that menu looks promising and obviously full of melted cheese as well.

I dont know why this place has such high reviews. Its just mediocre food. Waited 20 mins for a table and another 20 for food. Definitely not worth the wait and price. Left out of there and got a bagel next door at new york bagel. Save your money this place isnt worth it.

Do I work out across the street and head straight to Queens Kickshaw for their Mac and cheese? Guilty! This place is a great place to hang out, enjoy an awesome latte(or two) and have some good food. I also like their black bean hummus, gouda grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup. Their layered potato cake is delicious for breakfast but is very heavy so come with an empty stomach.

Came here and ordered the cider cheese with soft pretzels as an appetizer which was interesting. Then ordered the Mac’n Cheese which I thought was delicious. It came with two caramelized onions and two little triangle-shaped cornbread pieces that had peas and possibly carrots? baked inside. Really, really good and cheesy. Took a bite of their Gouda grilled cheese sandwich as well and that was amazing. May get that next time to change things up. Wonderful staff

Place reminds me of a Brooklyn spot, very hipster. They have a decent selection of beers. I ordered an ipa beer(Two Brothers) which was very good. The Gouda grilled cheese sandwich was spicy and went so well with the jam and black bean hummus. I’ll definitely be back for this again.

Hipster Smipster! There are places I just dig that are serving cool coffees, BEER, breakfast as well as Mac and Cheese. All in one place no less. This is hipster hive central but what they’re pouring is the real deal in terms of coffee. And why no breakfast until 10am? FTW!!! I was so hungry, I ordered coffee and I see a nice looking croissant. I ask, are these baked on premise? No I’m told, we order them from Balthazar bakery, sorry. (My favorite bakery in the entire world) Sorry?! I’ll take one please. I’m watching the barista make my pour over coffee and I just laugh. I’m from Brooklyn and I’ve seen this crazy transformation in the borough. To see this hipster place in Queens? In Astoria? The hipsters are here to stay baby. Damn, I really love Tofu Cream Cheese. I can’t quit you! The end result is, I had an AMAZING coffee at The Queens Kickshaw. So good I bought a pound to take home and brew my own. The Queens Kickshaw, you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t come here. Breakfast is served at 10am…
