Favorite bar in Astoria! Delicious drinks, great wine selection, and pizza. The pesto pizza(with lots of devil dust) is my absolute favorite. The vibe is like you’re walking through a Tom Waites song: New Orleans meets Twin Peaks. I’ve had more than one supernatural encounter in the bar and attached theater, which is a bonus to the atmosphere. Bring cash, as they do not accept cards!

The place sucked! Bartender, when I told him the cocktail was bland he said $ 4 for another shot of vodka! Band was pathetic. If you guys wanna really see some hipster shit come to Silverlake, LA. Never again.

I’ve been here many times for drinks and pizza, and I love this place. Especially enjoy sitting at the bar. Lots of unique charm. Just wonder if it’s up to fire code. Been here during the Fisherpoets Gathering when it’s filled to the brim.

The bartender tonight was awesome! We had the Boca burgers(there was 5 different kinds), vegan chili, nachos, and some cocktails. This place hits the spot! Come here after the Goonies tour.

Great hip and dark atmosphere. Welcoming from the locals. Good pours. Great scotch line up(with a great price). Fresh squeezed juices, spicy bloody Marie’s, great mixed drinks. Don’t expect the bartender to wait on your every need like a high end place. She’ll get to us and you will get a great drink! Amazing little book and a place we will return to EVERY time we are in Astoria.

Hip spot. Nice selection of liquor and brew. Friendly barkeep. Definitely be back next time I’m in Astoria.

Eesh… ordered a mixed cocktail & got bunch of crap for it. Tipped BIG so we would have a good night. …should have known better. Never saw the bartender or other round again. Cool vibe with no sense of business. Sad…

The Voodoo Room: Cool, hipster joint with unique funky atmosphere… Based on the other reviews my vegan partner and I were excited to try the Vegan Pizza. Maybe it’s because we’re lucky in Vancouver, BC and have such great vegan pizza options(The Naam, Whole Foods on Cambie)~ but unfortunately the pizza was bland and oily– dough, oil, some basil, tomato… even additional salt and pepper didn’t save it. Service is great, and drinks are good however:) — guess we’re lucky we usually don’t leave establishments disappointed with food, so it sticks out when we do…

This place rocks. Not only does it have such an incredibly detailed and unique atmosphere(very McMenamins-y meets mystical beachiness), it has the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had… my partner and I didn’t want to stop munching on it! It’s such a treat to find such incredible vegan food at the coast — something I thought didn’t really exist — it’s much appreciated! Kinda felt like we were back in Portland but with amazingly friendly customer service. The drinks were potent and deliciously fresh. I hope there’s maybe one more vegan pizza option next time we visit(we wanted to go there again but didn’t really have an excuse to eat the same pizza within a few days of our vacation). Just don’t get rid of the one you have — it’s so damn good!

Great atmosphere and good pizza. A perfect spot to kick back and watch Astoria’s seedy underbelly unfold.

Great, creative cocktails! This place hosts a juicer, so any juice-based cocktail is super fresh. As a shameless caffeine addict, I appreciated all of the coffee cocktail options. This place is cash only, so make sure you hit an ATM beforehand. The place definitely does have a macabre/quirky vibe, that makes it a little different than most bars in Astoria. One last note: Though this place is designated $$$ on Unilocal, all of the cocktails are around the $ 7 range. I think it’s the food that can be egregiously priced(Garlic chicken was $ 22.) Easy enough– we avoided the food and stuck to booze.

vegan pizza, queers, & weirdos. macabre interior design, delicious boozey concoctions, and the same retro jams i bumped a week ago at a dance party in my living room. definitely my kinda joint.

When you walk into this place, you immediately feel like you’ve walked onto the set of a movie. Cool decorations adorn the walls, there’s even a table-sized ouija board. Their cocktails are superb, although I would not recommend the Bloody Mary. Have a Rickshaw Trailer or a Lazlo to take the edge off!

The lengthy cocktail menu was impressive and fun, I stuck to a good ‘ol Cosmo though. Vegan pizza options are delicious and around $ 18/pie. I like being able to order exactly as much pizza as I can handle(half a pizza is totally possible). The vibe is funky and chill, I appreciated a warm welcome free of the«locals only» attitude I got at another bar. The bartender and kitchen guy were super friendly and accommodating. I will recommend The Voodoo Room to anyone visiting Astoria. It is definitely my new favorite spot.

Everything about this place is funky and different– in a great way. The drinks are terrific, and the food outstandingly awesome for a bar. We had the wilted spinach salad with blue cheese, butter garlic mussels, and a spicy clam chowder that was really the best chowder I’ve ever had. They gave us free sides of toast with their homemade jalapeño, garlic, and pepper jellies, sold next door at the Columbian Café. The atmosphere is unlike any place I’ve ever been, which is a plus for visiting a Coastal town that needs more culture. The art and strange set up makes it extremely entertaining. This is the best spot for a low key great time in Astoria when you are tired of sports bars, brewpubs, and coffee shops.

Loved this place. We stopped by here on a recommendation to try their fresh pressed drinks. They were amazing. Seriously, I wish I had snapped a pic of their drink list because we tried about 6 different drinks there and they were all pretty great. The blood mary could have been better, but it had incredibly delicious pickled asparagus in it. The coffee drink, starts with an e(sorry, I should have written this review when I first went) tasted like a milkshake. A delicious, caffeinated, alcoholic milkshake. It as the star of the night. The fresh juice style drinks were phenomenal. Next time I’m visiting, I will definitely go here again.

My ‘local’ when I drive through Astoria. Love this place. Come for the Blue Bread, stay for the awesomeness that is Josh and his southern coworker(fabulous accents & convo to be had), the Habanero dry martinis and a Chaitini or two. Om nom nomz.

The décor definitely sets this place apart from the rest of the area. If you want to try something different from mainstream bar scene this is the place. But beware, its CASHONLY!!! The service wasn’t too bad, bartender did make her rounds and even nice enough to check on our drinks knowing it was our first time there. wish I was able to try the food, maybe next time we’re in the area to relax.(Door is just to the right of the theatre’s main entrance) We got lost walking around trying to find this place. The Voodoo Room is so many things it’ hard to nail it down. Ptich black walls decorated with the trappings of a ‘nawlins’ nightmare. Some of the most expensive drinks in Astoria. Live music worth coming in for. A sense of deliberate funkiness. Casual hipster with broken down sofa, booths and tables made of an old Ouija Board. Food from one of the best kitchens on the coast. And best of all an «I don’t give a shit,» attitude. I have yet to see any Tea Party Conservatives here with the exception of my wife. i come here for a change of pace when reality becomes too real, the Voodoo Room transports.
