Moving my mother-in-law, Thelma, to Ingleside Park was the best decision we made during all of her long term care. When we moved her in, she needed so much care and we really didn’t think she would last more than a week. The staff at Ingleside was AMAZING! They were so gentle and tender with her. She thrived because of the excellent care she received there. Every caregiver and the owners were so compassionate and understanding. We were able to be with her as much as we wanted, which was a lot. And when we couldn’t be with her they loved on her and gave her the special attention she needed. We were able to use Hospice while she was there and did not have to move her when she could no longer get out of bed. I can not say enough about how wonderful everyone was. Ingleside made going through a very tough season in life as peaceful as possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone faced with having to relocate a loved one. They truly are the next best thing to family, except more skilled.

My dad(a retired fire captain w/Calfire SLO) was a resident at Ingleside for 8.5 months, from mid January 2015– until yesterday. In that 8.5 months he lost 70 lbs., and rapidly declined. We just moved him into a more skilled and qualified facility, and upon checking him in we were shocked at this substantial amount of weight loss. During our time at Ingleside they were severely understaffed, unprofessional, and were not equipped/qualified to care for someone who has Alzheimers. The owner made us promises that were not kept, and we spent tens of thousands of dollars, for care that was mediocre at best. My fathers meds were often skipped at the beginning, because they couldn’t administer them. My dad, who is 6’1 ft. tall, suffers from Alzheimers, went in to Ingleside at 248lbs. and left at 171lbs. He was obviously severely effected from their lack of care, and had to be moved bc they could not, and were not caring for him, as promised. Even after we told the staff on several occasions, that he needed to be assisted while eating, and offered water and fluids regularly, our requests were not being heard. He clearly wasn’t being cared for professionally, or compassionately, and it shows on my dads bony body, 70lbs later. Horrible experience, and would not recommend this place for anyone who has a family member suffering from Alzheimer’s.

We had my mom at Ingleside Park, one of Ingleside’s new assisted care facilities about a block from Atascadero Lake Park. We were very impressed at the amount of care and compassion the Ingleside staff gave my mom. When we moved mom from a larger facility in San Luis Obispo where she wasn’t getting the amount of care she needed, Ingleside sent a wheel chair assessable van to pick mom up and even sent along their nurse to ride along with her. My mom recently passed and we were so glad we moved her to Ingleside Park. They took great care of her all the way to the end and we were able to visit her any time, day or night.

Grandma has been at several facilities but this place is by far the best. They treat you like family. It doesn’t smell like a hospital– it feels like a regular home! So many fun activities, good food, and accommodations to fit the client’s changing needs.
