This restaurant is closed. It is now a good Italian place.

yummy!!! the owners are super nice. gave us chips and salsa even though our order was to go and made a breakfast burrito for my cranky son regardless that the menu said only until 11:30. thank you!!! shrimp fajita burrito with whole beans was so good and husbands carnitas were moist and flavorful. will for sure stop here again when were making the Fresno to pismo trip which may possibly be the ugliest drive ever.

Best Mexican food in ATASCADERO. The service is excellent, and friendly. I live in A-town for 1 year. Didn’t visit for 3 years and when I went in, they still rmemebered me as if I had never left, That’s service!!! Burritos here remind me of mom’s home cooking, doesn’t get any better or any more authentic! 5STARSFORFLAVOR and AUTHENTICITY!!! licking the lips!!!

Excellent Taco’s! I go there for their tacos all the time. The only complaint is that the price seems to keep inching up! Delicious though, and still reasonably priced.

I love Rubio’s. I go to restaraunts for the food, and when I find something I like, I’m hooked! First tho I want to let people know that they are not located at the address or phone # currently shown. They are at 9965 El Camino Real now.(805) 462‑3900 for great takeout. Anyway, I have to have a carnitas taco or two every week. Also in the winter, when I’m cold or have a cold nothing beats their delicious beef soup with their homemade tortillas. Family owned and operated by some of the hardest working people I’ve ever met, the regulars at Rubio’s love their hosts as much as the food. If you are interested in eating great mexican food and the food is what you care about, well then I’ll see you at Rubio’s on Wednesday and Saturday, cuz those are my days off and their food is the only thing that ever sounds good to me,… seriously!

I really like this family and their food. My favorite thing to order is the Carnitas plate, which you can order ½ order of — just Carnitas, onions, avocado, limes, and tortillas. They were bringing in hand-made tortillas for the weekends, I hope that they continue with that. I have not yet been to the new location.

My favorite place in Atascadero for Mexican food(and there are lots of places to choose from in this town). Quick, friendly, and delicious. They are MOVING to the other end of El Camino next week, and reducing their menu a bit, from what I understand. But I’m sure it will still be delicious! :) And they plan on being open from 6am to 10pm… I’m hoping for a few breakfast items. yum.

We went here for Sunday lunch after church a few years ago. The food was okay but the server looked like she just rolled out of bed. She had pajama pants and slippers on! The food wasn’t good enough to entice us to try it again. There is better Mexican food in North SLO Co.

the handmade tortillas are indeed quite good. the carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas are the best from what i could tell. the colorado was kind of runny with sauce and the carnitas weren’t the lightly fried and crunchy type that i enjoy most, but still good. $ 1.35 a taco, but there was a special on carnitas today for $ 1. i think Tacos Tenexpa(same as Señor Camacho’s in front of Big Bubba’s) has the best al pastor in the area, but rubio’s is tasty.

This is the best bet for Mexican food anywhere around here. They make fresh, handmade tortillas every weekend. Delicious. Grab a pound of carnitas fresh at about 11 or 11:30 and a dozen tortillas, and you are set for a great day of pork tacos.

**Update =(** I heard they closed. We are sad, they were good folks, but Atascadero has a lot of budget mexican joints, and these guys had very high rent. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Genuine, and fast. I probably eat at Rubio’s once a week. There are a lot of choices for Mexican in Atascadero, but this is one that is a must visit. Make sure to try the carnitas! The food is fresh, authentic, and flavorful.

I love this place!!! This is a family-owned burrito joint that’s located on the right-hand side of a shopping plaza on El Camino. When we walked inside, we were quickly greeted by a gentleman, who told us that we could choose to sit wherever we wanted because the restaurant was pretty empty since we were there pretty early. When we got seated, he came over and handed us our menus, as well as chatted with us to see how we were doing, etc. He was really nice and friendly and his attitude definitely set the pace for the rest of our experience. The fiancé ordered a large carne asada burrito and I ordered their carne asada crunchy taco. It was absolutely delicious, especially because it was a genuine crunchy taco that I’ve never had before. No, not the typical yellow corn kind, but something else that I can’t describe. The food came out nice and hot, and we didn’t have to wait that long for it either. But I gotta give a thumbs up for their service. If you want genuine Mexican food in the area, come to this place!
