I love this place. However… Since it got a soda machine I feel… heartbroken. They took away a main component of its allure, for me. They used to have a water dispenser you could get water from when you first walk in. Now you’re forced to go into that … Ughk… Hallway. I don’t want to be in that hallway. I just don’t!

Automatic awesomeness on pizza crust… fresh and delicious. Best pizza south of NYC! Service is attentive. Don’t expect fast, quickly pie. Each is made to order. Expansive possibilities for toppings or calzone filings.

Nothing special… The pizza had a good crust, but was very salty. I imagine it would be a great place to walk to, but with parking for 5 cars on such a busy corner, I will be passing it up. Little Italy and both Transmets provide a superior pizza. Great location, wish the pizza was great.

As someone who moved to athens recently from new york. This place is a god send! Your not eating«real» pizza unless your getting it here!

Good change up from where we normally eat in Athens but nothing mind blowing or spectacular. Pizza is huge which is cool and you can eat it next door at their sister restaurant where there are tvs which is good during football season but the pizza itself is average to good, a bit on the greasy side for me. I will go back again but it won’t be the first dinner option for us the next time we’re in Athens.

We thought the pizza was great and the service was stellar! We grabbed a pizza and took it out to Terrapin!

Generic pizza, but with a super crispy crust. The folks are friendly. It’s convenient.

Best pizza place in Athens. I make my own dough and sauce, but when I want good pizza out, this is where we go. The crust is tasty, crispy, and can hold up to the toppings. Sauce is also fresh and well seasoned. Love the staff and the fact they deliver to one of my favorite bars in Athens! Sometimes it’s a long wait, but when we order on the way it’s usually ready by the time we get there.

First time and I was impressed ! The toppings on my slice were fresh, delicious, and plenty of them. The crust, that thin«melt in your mouth» crust, is what you come to Automatic for !! It was a great overall experience and they have beers! I tried the new Creature Comforts Automatic and it was a very tasty brew. Great place!

Best pizza in the city. I love this place. I used to be a Little Italy’s junkie until I discovered automatic. Awesome environment, awesome NY pizza, awesome crust, awesome music, awesome staff. Maybe they could expand their beer selection. Pizza is perfect; best I’ve had outside of New York.

Automatic is a great addition to the neighborhood. I love sitting in the old gas station, watching traffic on Prince Avenue. I love how they have vegan pizza. The other day, when I somehow neglected to order vegan cheese, they remade my pizza. That’s customer service for you!

Parking may be tight but it was not crowded. I got two slices with several toppings. It was just $ 11 including tip. I thought the pizza was very good. I don’t know how previous reviews rate bad service. You order at the counter. They bring the pizza to you. The person that brought out my food offered to get silverware and everyone working there was very pleasant. Pizza is similar in quality to Transmetropolitan but this place allows you to order slices. Transmet doesn’t let you order slices at night.

We waited for almost an hour for our pizza. Pizza was pretty good but nothing special. I guess it’s worth going when it’s not busy.

Just dropped $ 100 taking 5 people to eat at Automatic. Cool place, and I will admit the food was good, but not worth $ 20 per person. Part of the problem is their policy of charging double for toppings if you split toppings. In all my days, no where in the pizza eating world have I ever encountered that! And it’s not on the menu. And when I asked, «can we split topings» they said sure. So, for example, one was a large($ 18) with 2 topings, split half basil+tomato on one side and spinach+sausage on the other side. We were charged for 4 topings at $ 1.90 each instead of 2. Same happened on a second pizza. To my mind, I was overcharged 4 topings or about $ 8 with tax. When I asked the server about the charge he said that was how they did it and he could not refund the overcharge. So, I’ll give 4 stars for the food, 1 star for parking and comfort, 1 star for value, and 1 star for customer service. That averages out around 2 overall. I won’t be going back. $ 100 for pizza for 5? Save your money and get better on all counts at DePalmas, Pepino’s, Little Italy, TransMet…

I am shocked by the poor reviews! This place is the best! I walk to it at least two, probably three times a week. It definitely caters to the Normaltown crowd… thanks! Bad reviews likely coming from college students. Order the«double Dad pour» next time! You won’t regret it.

We had a superb Calzone and a Meatball sandwich. Both were exceptional !!! Best in Athens! This former gas station was rated very high by The Flagpole, and the proof was in the eating. Great food, great décor and great staff … Plus beer and wine and can eat inside or outside.

I went here today for the first time and I have to say I wasn’t impressed. First of all, I ordered a small whole pizza while my friends both ordered slices. While I can understand the slices coming out first, I had to wait at least 20 mins longer(maybe a total of 30 mins) for my pizza. And once I got the pizza, it was ok, but too much cheese for me. I at least prefer equal cheese to sauce, but more so more sauce than cheese. And the pizza was overcooked!

My friends come here way too much since we live close by and just walk(so we don’t have to deal with parking). We always sit down at Normal Bar and have the pizza brought to us, which is a nice feature. The pizza is thin, floppy, and greasy(ideal to me, maybe not to others). One time it took a really long time, so they comped us a round of drinks at Normal, which was awesome. I’m a fan, but I can see how if you didn’t like that style of pizza this place wouldn’t be for you(you can ask them to cook the crust more than usual if that’s your thing). My only complaint is that the big pizzas are a little expensive, but split between a group of people, it’s not too bad.

We spent $ 28 on a large pizza with 3 toppings and a can of coke. It took no less than an hour after ordering before we got it. I understand sometimes it’s busy(must have been to-go orders cause hardly anyone was there), but there was no acknowledgement of how long we had to wait or any updates given until we asked for one 55 mins after waiting. For me, all is forgiven with an explanation or apology, but none was given. By that point we were really hungry, so you’d think it would have tasted amazing. Nope. The crust is too salty. The outside was crispy but the whole center was soggy. I doubt I’ll be returning but if I do return I won’t be eating the pizza. It looked like there were some other options — sandwiches and calzones. Save your money and your time and go to Little Italy or Peppino’s. The building is cool. The location is great but I don’t see how they will stay in business with the terrible service. Good job on the marketing though. It was a buzz all over nothing
