Darby’s Shaved Ice Grill

Went there for lunch after seeing one of my assistants bring in a menu. Ordered off the menu at the drive-​thru, inside closed for some reason. The woman literally screamed at me that I couldn’t order that, they didn’t have it and added accusingly, how did I come up with that food order? When I told her it was on the menu on the side of the building, she continued her rude tirade, without a trace of self-​counsciousness, saying finally; ‘we have one thing today, if you don’t want that, then forget it!’ I figure I’ll go back… never.

Saturday Super Nachos were so good! Chris and I destroyed them! I am over the moon for the S’mores dessert shaved ice! The owners are gems and we enjoyed their service and their conversation. It’s in the same building as an attorney, so it can be easy to pass by. The interior is warm and homey — a great place to have a group meeting or small party. Plus there’s plenty of room outside for a summer bar-​b-​que! A favorited from the start!

I knew this place had an outdoor seating area, & it looked like one of those typical mom & pop snowcone stands from the road. The outdoor seating area is also shaded & even has mist fans so you won’t get too hot out there. But for the really hot days, they also have indoor seating in the building next to the snowcone stand. (It used to be an attorney’s office, & still has some of the old décor from there.) Parking space is limited, maybe just a vacant lot dirt road area, unless you wanna try the baptist church parking lot nearby.
Somedays they have a daily special, & even live music. They let you know on the wall as you walk in.
Darby’s reminds me of a local mom & pop snowcone stand (perhaps miniature Bahama Bucks) but with a bit of a hot dogs, burgers & fries stand mixed into it. Maybe like if Bahama Bucks married Texas Burger, Darby’s could be like their baby.
For my first visit, I tried an «Arctic Ice» (small size) & a grilled cheese (well, patty melt without the meat patty) & waffle fries for $ 9.20. Very limited food options (especially vegetarian-​friendly), but I really enjoy the snowcones! I’d love to go back again to try more snowcone «cocktails».

Darby’s new dine in is amazing!!! Awesome atmosphere, kid friendly, and the food is fantastic! We were greeted with hospitality and although they were busy, I still felt like we were priority. I strongly recommend that everyone go check out their new place! Support our local businesses!!!
