Holiday Inn Express Athens

It’s my second time at this hotel and this time around has not gone well so far. On our way here, I realized I had forgotten to take a razor so I asked the front desk if they had one. She happily gave one to me but when I asked if they had shaving cream (because nobody can use that 5 cent razor without getting some painful cuts) she said they were all out. I’m sorry but how can you still have razors but not shaving cream? Then, when we got up to the room, it was freezing cold. I wish they would’ve had it at a moderate temperature but it was blasting the coldest air it could. I literally ran into the room to change the air to heat before we got all of our luggage inside. Later, I went to take a shower and was confused when the water started pooling at my feet. About a minute in, I realized that the drainage was closed. I tried opening it, but every time I let go it would fall back down. Eventually I figured how to keep it diagonal enough to let water flow. (And there was this weird bump in the shower that made me really nervous)
And lastly, housekeeping put the curtains to the shower back the wrong way and now my pajamas are soaked. Bad way to start my trip.
Other than all of that, the staff seem friendly, room seems clean, and it’s super quiet. I’ll give it three stars– maybe it’s just a rough night.

Pretty poor customer service on the phone tonight. The lady was rude for no reason. I had called to check to see if they had a room for the night as I’d been driving for a while and was looking for somewhere to get some sleep and she pretty much just goes «we don’t have any» and hangs up without another word.

A good hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night on our drive back to Michigan. The rooms were clean and modern. The hotel, while booked full, was very quiet. We slept well and we’re able to get a good head start in the morning.

Very nice hotel. It is fairly new. The price is right, great accommodations, very clean, cozy, up to date, modern and chic rooms. Their fitness facility is nice and so is the pool area. Ordered pizza from Toscano Pizza and they delivered to our room which was a plus. The barbecue chicken is very tasty! My family and I had a great stay here. I give them 3.5 stars :)
