Food is either over-salty or not salty at all. Worse, I saw one of the employee’s profile on a dating site. She indicated she didn’t shower daily. Freaked me out.

This is the healthiest ‘fast food’ I have found. I also get many free pita’s through using the Pita Pit, ‘Pit’ card. They seem to have long extended hours, and stays open year-round, whether or not the University is open. Here’s what I order: Black bean, whole wheat. I asked then to put hummus in first, I then add spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, pepperonci’s, red peppers, pickles, and pineapple.(don’t laugh, pickles and pineapples are a great combination), Have them add some oregano, and skip the cheeses, and sauces. Trust me, you won’t need them. They also offer delivery service.

my wife and I have eaten twice now. Fantastic food. Think of it as a pita version of subway with the exception of the quality being much better. produce is very fresh and everything is flavorful as it should be.

Pita Pit is a chain that pops up around a lot of college towns. I went to the one by my undergrad a lot(probably too much) and they had $ 5 pita days, a lot of vegetarian options, and awesome food, so I was expecting the same at this one and was let down. They don’t seem to have any deals like that, their pitas are pretty dry like people have said, and they’re not as much food as other ones I’ve been to. Some locations are awesome, but if you’re looking for fairly healthy but still quick food in Athens you have a lot of local options that aren’t this place.

Great for a quick hot meal if you only have a moment or need your meal on-the-go, but want something lighter than Chipolte. The staff is very friendly and will take the time to explain all of the ingredients and tell you about what they have to offer. The Pitas tend to be dry to be sure to get sauce and eat it when it’s hot! The BLT Pita is my favorite!

Maybe it’s that I’m not a big fan of pitas to begin with, but as someone else reviewed, their pitas and toppings are always sooooo dry. Really, I’d recommend checking out other places near by.

Deliciousness in a hot pita. Like the Chipotle of the Middle East(sort of? The innards and fillings of the Pita can be semi-exotic, but can also be Chicken Caesar. I suppose it’s about as Middle Easter as Chipotle is Mexican), you go down a line, they fill the Pita with whatever deliciousness you request, cook whatever ingredients you’d like(and right in front of you!), and slap them into a delicious Pita. And oh, is it delicious. Have I said«delicous» enough in this review yet? The only caveat is that a Pita will cost you around $ 6 bucks, and it’ll up to $ 7 or $ 8 if you make it a combo and add a soda and chips… not too bad, but as «the Pit» sits just down Court from both Big Mama’s and Chipotle, you don’t get quite as much bang for your buck at PP as you do at the other two places– an important part of eating in a college town. However, it still makes for a solid meal– you just won’t have leftovers to take home and eat later. I’d give it a 4 instead of a 5 because of pricey-ness, but the behind-the-counter boys were just so friendly, helpful, chill, and efficient, I’mma kick it back up to 5. If you live in Athens and haven’t stopped by yet, definitely check out Pita Pit.
