Went on a Sunday morning for breakfast after overnight at The Lost Sea. Went with the breakfast buffet, which was a great deal, especially for kids 10 and under. Plenty of the usual breakfast options including bacon, sausage, biscuits, bacon, sausage or country gravy, chicken fried chicken, grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, a nice variety of fruit, and bacon. Oh, and bacon. And a full salad bar even at breakfast time. Everything on the buffet was refreshed quickly and service was friendly and pleasant. Drinks were refilled quickly and plates were bussed as needed. Highly recommend this as a great breakfast option and absolutely cannot beat the buffet price for kids!

I like seeing the great reviews on here so I guess I will be the Debbie Downer. My wife and I was in there for Sunday lunch and it was raining out with temps in the 50’s. We was sat in the area where the windows are and in that small stretch of area it was colder then the rest of the building because the manager had the air conditioner going. Now remember when I said it was in the 50’s and raining? Well of course we was a bit wet from the walk to the door. I asked our waitress(Linda) if she could have the manager turn up the a/c because we was a little wet and the a/c was actually causing my wife to shiver. She replied, «the air is keeping the tile floor dry and if they turned the a/c up the floor would develop condensation because of the windows and the rain and risk someone falling on the wet floor. I replied«so your gonna risk making your customers sick? She had the same response about the floor being wet. We would have asked to be moved to a different table but it was busy with after church customers. Our dining experience wasn’t so pleasant this time.

Great Breakfast Buffet with MANY options, including more than basic breakfast food fare. The service was pleasant and there was lots of food. If a buffet is your thing, head here. It is a typical Shoney’s restaurant, including being clean and predictable, which isn’t always a bad thing.

Man I love their breakfast bar. If it was just maybe one hour longer i would be completely satisfied. The price is okay though. Haven’t had problems with the waiters. They were nice. I would definitely come again.

Made a pit stop here on a long road trip from Alabama to Philly. Despite being hungry, the food still looked unappealing. The service was extremely slow, given that there were about maybe 6 or 7 other tables running with 2 – 3 servers. Maybe it’s a southern thing? I hate to generalize, but it just felt like the server was dilly-dallying. But then again, it’s a Shoney’s.

A very pleasant breakfast surprise. I hadn’t eaten at a Shoney’s in over twenty years, and I hadn’t been very impressed the times that I did. The Awful Waffle that was closer to I-75 had a wait, and we didn’t feel like hanging around the 20 or 30 minutes for seats. So we went up the road about a quarter/half a mile to this location. We entered, and were greeted and seated immediately. They had a breakfast buffet, but you could also order off the regular menu(the option I chose as I wasn’t in the mood to gorge myself). I was expecting just a run of the mill road breakfast, but I was really impressed with the food that arrived at the table. I had a simple bacon and eggs(scrambled) platter with breakfast potatoes(grits were the other option available) and a biscuit(or toast). I had coffee to drink. Wow. The bacon was cooked perfectly, the eggs were properly prepared(neither runny nor brown), but the potatoes were unbelievable. Simply prepared, and well– seasoned(parsley salt and pepper, but not at all salty), tender, and mixed with chopped fresh onion. Absolutely delicious. FAR better than any Waffle House meal I’ve ever had, and in a much nicer, quieter, far less frenzied environment. The only downside was there wasn’t any real butter to be had, but if I lived in the area I would simply bring my own. Service was quick, attentive(I ordered my coffee black and unlike many places the server listened and didn’t bring cream and sugar anyway), and very friendly. $ 5.99+ tax INCLUDING my coffee. Very good value. I checked out the buffet, and it also looked good(especially the pancakes), The restroom was pristine(often a good sign of a well run place). Recommended for breakfast for both quality and value.
