Wow, amazing wood fired pizza! What a collection of whiskey and Scotch! Love it here.

Came in for brunch. Overpriced menu. A biscuit and jam for $ 5? Limited menu has few interesting offerings. Ordered biscuit with over easy eggs. About 15 minutes after we ordered they informed us they had no eggs, but they had scrambled eggs. Which logically to me means they use egg beaters. Yuck. Anyway there is a small portion of the kitchen that is open air and one of the chefs was making the flat breads and sandwiches. No gloves, wiping his hands on his apron repeatedly, but picking through toppings and touching his face. Really unappetizing. Felt bad for the girl working there, but we decided to leave and go to another 5 points establishment. Too bad, would have been nice to have another restaurant in the neighborhood.

Unique kitchen with an old antique pizza. Quaint, and always changing menu. Friendly servers and overall great atmosphere. As soon as you come in, you feel a part of the family.

I wasn’t able to sample the food at The Pine, as their kitchen closed at 10PM on a busy game day Saturday night. In spite of the Unilocal listing showing business hours until 10PM, they were open well past 11PM for bar service. It was hard to tell if they were actually open or not, or if they were just continuing to serve post-game happy fans after a UGA football win. Nevertheless, the atmosphere seemed inviting and open, and there were ample tables as well as bar stools for patrons. Don’t expect downtown/Clayton St.-like shenanigans here, as the Five Points area is decidedly quieter, especially at night. Waffle House has the lion’s share of the action. Service was feasible directly at the bar itself, as table service(if it exists) wasn’t happening late at night, so we had to approach the bar for menus and drink orders. As with most Athens bars, the drinks themselves are inexpensive, but I would surmise that The Pine attempts to cater to a more«sophisticated» crowd who doesn’t mind a $ 9-$ 11 glass of local Frogtown Cellars Sangiovese or a $ 6 pint of Sweetwater IPA served in real glassware by bartenders who have a bit more passion about their craft. I do wish their business hours were more clear, as it seemed as though they weren’t enthused about serving customers«late» on a Saturday night. I’m not an expert in food service, but I would assume that keeping the pizza oven running a bit longer and having clearer business hours could make for several more happy, paying customers.

Came here for lunch on a saturday. They only served the brunch menu until 2pm. Was a little disappointed with the limited menu choices. They offered flat bread(did not look fulfilling), biscuit sandwiches, sandwiches and salads. I chose to try the sausage egg and cheese biscuit. It sufficed but not worth the $ 7. A bit dry and I feel like I would have been happier getting a biscuit sandwich from chickfila. The service and the atmosphere is on point. I love the wood and decorative wall they have to the left of the restaurant. I just wish they would change their menu. Disappointed.

I went 2 times for brunch. The first time was delicious, the staff was friendly. The second time, my food was so salty it was inedible, the staff was totally inattentive– couldn’t even get water. Not going back.

Great place! The atmosphere is very relaxing. My husband and I just popped in for some drinks. The people working there were so nice! The owner was super nice as well. He spent several minutes just chatting with us, getting to know us and answering all our questions about the place. All in all great visit. We didn’t eat because we had just eaten, but we watched them prepare many meals and they all looked delicious! I definitely will be back to try of the fire cooked meals. Perfect spot for a date! I highly recommend this place.

Ugh if you love good food and a great atmosphere this place has it all! The food was pricey but when it’s that good… It’s so worth it. I had the pork chop, squash casserole, and sweet potato soufflé. My friend had the shrimp and grits. We basically just shared and loved every last bit!!! I’ll be going back very very soon! Some of the best food in Athens!!!

This was one of my favorite places in Athens to meet friends for a coffee or beer. Good food and drinks, but I especially enjoyed the Pine for the laid back atmosphere. It’s a very chill place… especially in the outdoor seating in the front. Loved sitting out there with friends, to chat and watching sports games on the television. For someone in their thirties it is ideal as there are few college students around, so it’s not a crazy atmosphere like so many bars downtown. It’s in a really nice and safe part of town(Five Points) near the intersection of Lumpkin and Milledge. I only had lunch there once, but I remember it being really good, with really interesting and delicious soups.

If you enjoy Trappeze, South Kitchen, or Marker 7 you’ll love The Pine. But if you have any remote taste you should stay away. I felt like I was eating a college freshman’s attempt at cooking«fancy».

Unique, vibrant menu with a nice selection of tapas and mains. Try the shrimp and grits fo sho! Upscale décor with a eclectic blend of concrete, wood, and lighting. Always seems to have a crowd but not packed, it is a bit loud but the ambiance, food, drink and Five Points location make it a great stop. We went two weeks in a row and the Trout Special is to-die-for, our server Marvella was super attentive, funny, and made the evening outside on the patio a pleasure.

Very delicious food, lovely bathroom, cheesy pop music, great liquor selection from where I was sitting, and terrible terrible parking situation.

This is my favorite restaurant in Athens. It serves interesting, fresh, and reasonably priced dishes with consistency each and every time. Their menu constantly changes, which is both good and bad. Good because there is something new to try each visit and bad because when we find a favorite, phenomenal dish, it is gone from the menu next time. For example, a green-chili queso app was a favorite then last night I had what may have been the best dish I’ve ever had in Athens; a Thai-shrimp and red chili special. The quinoa salad was awesome too and tasted really fresh. Well done chef. The brunch biscuits are great too. Bloody Mary’s are solid. I wish the mimosas were a little cheaper like some other restaurants offer during brunch. Beer offerings are high end and flavorful though expensive. Always something new on the board, usually local or regional items. The atmosphere is cozy but modern and feels cleaner than most anything downtown.

My boyfriend and I stopped at this place for dinner on a Saturday night. We got a table right away which was nice. I ordered the deviled eggs with the quinoa salad, and he got sides; Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts and potatoes. First off our waitress was amazing! She was attentive, knowledgable, friendly and on task. I would go back just for the service! Our food came and we dug in. The deviled eggs were a great choice. You get three and the favors will change depending on the day you’re here. Mine were mostly traditional and extremely tasty. quinoa salad came next, and it was okay. It was lettuce, veggies and quinoa with a pecan dressing. I just found the dressing kind of eh, but that could just be my taste buds. The salad overall didn’t excite me and I packed most of it up. My boyfriend loved the Mac and cheese, said it was one of the best he’s ever had. We both loved his Brussels sprouts and I feel they were cooked perfectly. We were so so on the potatoes, we were not crazy about the sauce, but again that could just be our tastebuds. I would come back here for sure, but I’d to probably just get drinks and appetizers here instead of dinner. I was more into the sides and snacks. Also, if you go here I hope you get our server! She will make it a great experience for sure.

My husband and I tried The Pine for the first time last Saturday, and I am a fan! The food was delicious. I got the falafel sandwich with potato wedges and it was pretty good. My husband’s meal was the real winner for me. He got the italian braised beef sandwich with the macaroni and cheese for his side. The sandwich was delicious(although it was a little difficult to eat because the bread got soggy). The macaroni and cheese was some of the best I have ever had. I’ve been craving it since I had it there. My only complaint is that we did not get the best service, but this can be overlooked some because the restaurant was super packed.

We never went to aromas so I will not be comparing it to the Pine. We have gone to the biscuit brunch three times… and each time the food, drink and service have been great! We have had the biscuit with homemade sausage and egg… sausage was seasoned well and eggs were cooked perfectly each time! Sausage gravy side was really good, house made jam was a great touch! Manager quickly checked in each time and service was good and consistent each time. My only complaint… and I am splitting hairs at this point is that I would have preferred a cushion on the chairs, because they are metal… but this s just a personal issue for me and is not going to be stopping me from retuning!!! Looking forward to trying the Pine for dinner.

Wow do I miss Aromas. The Pine is a poor, poor replacement for our highly valued neighborhood bar. Gone is the nice dark interior, the creative cocktail menu, the delicious cake slices, and the room setting mermaid stained glass window. Now you’ll find an overly bright interior, too much noise, and an uninspiring cocktail menu. Don’t forget the boring and overpriced food menu… all the servings I’ve seen or personally had were small and not worth the price. One of my biggest gripes… they decreased the amount of beer taps they previously had. Who ever made«improvements» to a craft beer joint by reducing the amount of beer you can serve? Fewer taps also means no more tap takeovers like Bell’s Bowl that Aromas often had. The service here also leaves something to be desired. On 4 visits I’ve had subpar service all 4 times. Between just not being attentive to not splitting tabs when asked, they either don’t pay attention/listen or they don’t care. I honestly can’t believe I gave this place as many chances as I have, but I’m throwing in the towel on this joint. Call me when you guys wise up and change it back to the much-missed Aromas.

I never give 5 stars because i think«5 star review» is too common of a phrase. 5 Stars to me should feel like more than 5 stars. It shouldn’t be abused. But THIS restaurant is more than worthy of a 5 star review. I got my meal to go and I really am sad that I couldn’t tell them in person, instead of phone call as I ate, that the Chicken Tikka Masandwich I ordered was nothing short of jaw dropping. I literally chewed twice and gave my roommate my other half to try. I couldn’t just tell her. I didn’t bother trying to. She had to experience it. I’ve lived in Athens for all of my college career, I’m a senior, and this was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. It’s so good id work for them. Why tables aren’t packed beats me, but they deserve every kind of press they can get. I’m a true foodie and this place is my new #1 in Athens.
