Both Monica, the owner, and her husband Douglas are very personable and love good conversation with their customers. They made my experience shopping at their store very special and memorable. I love meeting friendly business owners like Monica and Douglas who create meaningful relationships with their customers. Once you enter at the top of the stairs, you’ll be amazed at Pope on Prince’s eclectic variety of OOAK vintage treasures for reasonable prices. Alongside vintage womenswear and home goods, there is also an extensive collection of vintage menswear, which most vintage shops in Athens neglect to sell. Pope on Prince is lovingly curated and just getting started, so now is the time to drop on by and support!

I popped in on a whim and was overjoyed to find such a quaint yet airy shop full of wonderfully handpicked items. I loved the vibe and found some great pieces to take home with me!

In a dimly lit loft above Daily Co-op sits Pope on Prince. Three rooms tastefully arranged with an eclectic collection. We stopped in with curiosity as I’ve been searching for possible shoes for a project. I, sadly, didn’t find the right ones, but instead was enchanted with how the atmosphere felt like an attic full of old treasures and trinkets. Had I the extra cash, I would have walked out with several of their treasures. The two main rooms have a respective gender. In one, cute dresses, women’s flats and heels, and various accessories, and the other slacks and dress shoes for men, all a tiny bit retro and whimsical in feeling. Absent was the haphazard clutter of donated items that I originally expected. Pope on Prince slightly reminded me of a heavily condensed Paris on Ponce sans furniture and more small antiques and artwork. The entrance room had some of my favorites. There were old cameras and lots of great props. The prices were reasonable too. Granted clothing prices weren’t Goodwill or Value Village style, they weren’t outrageous either. They’re certainly worth a look if you’re passing through, and looking for something not so ordinary, perhaps kissed by time.
