A nice option for a fresh lunch, serving homemade soup and sandwiches. It’s nice to have an option that isn’t fast food. Nothing fancy, seat yourself but friendly table service. I was glad to have this option available to bring out of town guests.

Athol, MA is lucky to have Owner and Chef Rob in town. The menu is small but everything is spot on. It’s rare to get creative and perfectly executed causal dining in this small town. Fresh quality ingredients in a small, bright and simple redecorated diner layout. The food and terrific service complimented each other perfectly. My parents live in Athol and as an award winning bartending and restaurant manager living abroad, I really appreciate the menu and look forward to going every time I visit.

This place is a gem! Never expected anything like this in Athol. The restaurant is immaculate and they have shiny silverware(it’s a thing for me) our waitress could not have been nicer, super friendly and attentive. About the food — homemade warm muffins, scones, homemade jams, honey butter– that was our breakfast appetizer. Coffee was«deans beans» fresh hot and not bitter severed with real cream. I had the«hoo-ka-rah breakfast sandwich fresh roll, ham, egg&cheese loaf(??? Waitress explained it) w/beet horseradish Sounds strange but omg was soooo yummy. Home fries real potatoes — not deep fried. My friend had the special of raspberry stuffed French toast with REAL maple syrup. I can’t wait to go back here again. They serve lunch too. Honestly this the type of place you would expect to find in north Hampton, Cambridge Boston — not Athol!!! Congrats and thanks to the owner I hope you are very successful

It’s great to see a new restaurant opening in the Athol-Orange area, and the reviews have been good, so my wife and I checked out Soup on the Fly for breakfast. Décor is simple and attractive, booth and counter stool seating is comfortable — a big improvement over what it was in previous years before the current owners took the place over. Server Angela was friendly and accommodating. I had the Swiss cheese omelet, and my wife had eggs, home fries and toast, our standard to evaluate a breakfast restaurant. The eggs were light and fluffy, and the home fries were the real deal — lightly browned with small chunks of onion, no garlic salt, paprika or other fake flavor enhancers that some restaurants use. The«hearty wheat» toast had crunchy nooks and crannies. The oatmeal toast was decent but not a lot different than store-bought bread. The apple compote for the toast was chunky and sweet. The tiny serving of strawberry jam, served in a little plastic cup labeled«S», tasted like typical good store-bought. My wife really liked the Dean’s Beans dark toast coffee served today, but it was a little strong for me. I like a lighter roast, but that’s just my preference. Suggestions would be to add cinnamon raisin toast and English muffins to the menu. The glass case also contained scones and a log of Apple strudel, which looked great but we were too stuffed to try. Breakfast prices are reasonable. Two eggs and toast were $ 3.00, Swiss cheese 2 egg omelet and toast $ 5.00, home fries $ 2.00. Can’t give four and a half stars, so four stars from us. Will definitely be back!

An unexpected gem in Athol, MA. Stopped in for a brunch on way back to Boston. It was a Sunday. On Sundays they only serve breakfast/brunch. Had the poached eggs with cheese grits over ham. Wheat toast. Coffee. Everything superb. My friend had the smoked salmon, equally fresh and tasty. Hip spot with pleasant vintage jazz background music.

Best coffee in town — fresh roast Deans Beans. Breakfast is very good and a great value. Fish sandwich has plenty of fish — sauce delicious with capers in it. Definitely worth the stop.

We came here for lunch, and the food is top notch. The homemade soups are really good. I tried the Swiss Tomato Soup which had a nice smoky bacon flavor it had other vegetables that were blended in to give it a rich flavor. I also tried the gumbo which was loaded and very tasty. The Farmers Market had caramelized onions, spinach, roasted eggplant, mozzarella cheese on a baguette was excellent. I will be coming back, and to try the breakfast as well. The hours are limited from 6:00 am — 2:00 pm. Really really good sandwiches and soups. It is great having a small place of quality in the area.

Stopped in after camping at Tully Lake, and boy did this place hit the spot! The western omelet with bacon was superb, and my husband’s apple French toast was amazing. Service was warm and friendly. Lots of good menu choices for kids, too.

This place is seriously yum. You might get a hint that this place is something different from the cute exterior and play on words. It’s a small, adorable place with a counter and several booths. We arrived for an early lunch and had hard choices to make among the Cuban and sliders and the turkey sandwich with all sorts of thoughtful and delicious accoutrements(e.g sriracha aioli). Kids had grilled cheese and I had beef sliders(two w Boursin, and two w cheddar and bacon). They were both served w potato croquettes that were to die for delicious. Heart healthy it was not. Absolutely some of the most delicious comfort food I have ever had. We can’t wait to go back to this gem.

Newest dining option to recently open in the Athol area. Rewarded 4 thumbs up and 5 stars from the hubz and I! Muffuletta was spot on say’s the hubz, and my Cuban sandwich fabulous! The Creole potato salad was surprisingly simple and tasty! Love the happy orange painted walls, the owner’s artwork and a local photographer’s photos displayed tastefully and simply. Appearance gives way to friendly service and the feeling that you want to return for more! Took home a menu and hoping to try out for breakfast real soon! Hope they do well and prosper!
